no one asked me my favorites...so i'm going to give them to you anyway
ready
star wars
swingers
two weeks notice
sleepless in seattle
hmm this list was shorter than i thought
i also want to add My Girl....thats a great movie
ok...i noticed meet the parents was funny the first time...and then, NEVER AGAIN...do not pretend it continues to be funny. It's just horrible.
thank you!! someone finally agrees with me. i do not find this so funny. some parts are funny but not really that hysterical.
Ok, so, I'm watching Sphere the other day..&, I noticed a glitch....remember that part where the sphere, using harry's subconcious to comunicate over the computer, was like "stop calling me Jerry"?...& then dustin hoffman studies over the code they used to translate the numbers into english, & he finds that the numbers they thought were for J and E really represented H and A, which would make Jerry Harry?..ok..If the numbers they thought were for J and E, were really for H and A, that would mean EVERY time those letters where used, they'd be switched, & the words would be misspelled, not just when the name Harry was spelled..
So you're saying everytime the computer scream out HALLALUJEH... it really meant JELLEUHAJ
yeah, exactly.....w/ALL the intelligence that went into this movie, you would think that there wouldn't be any silly mistakes
It's so hard to come up with a list of my favorite movies. Here, in no particular order, are a few of my favorites that no one else has mentioned yet:
The Seven Samurai
Yojimbo
To Catch a Thief
North by Northwest
Arsenic and Old Lace
Castle in the Sky
Grave of the Fireflies
Casablanca
The Italian Job (the original one)
Finding Nemo
Duck Soup
Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
The Pink Panther
Terminator 2 (edited, of course)
There are others, but I can't think of them right now.
you like Akira Kurosawa, eh? totally amazing stuff. and i saw Finding Nemo last night and i thoroughly enjoyed it.
Akira Kurosawa is awesome. I'd like to see more of his movies, but I've only seen the 4 that I own. (Those being The Seven Samurai, The Hidden Fortress, Yojimbo, and Sanjuro)
I think Finding Nemo is the best of the Disney/Pixar movies so far. It is so funny.
Isn't Monsters Inc. Disney and Pixar? If so, have you seen that? It's amazing!!!
I've seen it, and while I agree that the animation is amazing, I thought that the banter among the workers seemed a bit too forced. I think that Finding Nemo is a bit better in that respect.
Seriously? I think Monsters Inc. is pure brilliance, just the whole idea of it! Finding Nemo was funny..but I wasn't overly impressed by it.
I need to watch Monster's Inc. again, but from what I remember, while it was a great idea and it was funny, it wasn't as hilarious as a lot of Finding Nemo was. The sharks and the "fish are friends, not food" scene is hysterical, and I absolutely loved the surfer-bum sea turtles. I don't know; to each his own I guess.
i just give such credit to the person who sat awake at night and thought, "what if there really are monsters? what if their entire world is based on scaring little children and that's their power? and kids are not getting scared as easily. but laughter is more powerful! let's use it" who thinks of these things1?!?? but i love this movie so much just because of how absolutely original it is.
OHHHH snap! I only watched about half of it and was saving it for later...now I know what happens in the end.
the Professional [aka Leon] was an amazing flick! a strange relationship between a hitman [jean reno] and a little orphan [natalie portman] is explored! the local mob is operated out of a deli and italian resturant by like it should be! dirty cops abound! revenge is administered properly. AND it's done by an amazing director, luc beson, who has also done the original La Femme Nikita, Fifth Element and Messenger: Joan of Arc Story. can't go wrong with THIS guy! anyway, the Prof comes on network television from time to time. i admonish all to check it out.
The Spanish Prisoner
Shawshank Redemption
Snach
Half Baked
Three Kings
Ronin
Fail Safe
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Hunt for Red October
YES! Snatch is awesome, you never told me you saw it. I thought I was the only one, I had no one to talk to about it
crazy flick. loved all the camera work. the characters i loved were Boris the Blade aka Boris the Bullet Dodger and Bullet Tooth Tony. OH! and Cousin Avi! the soundtrack is classic too.
haha, yeah. Its been so long since I saw it, I cant wait till it comes on Tv
Snach is on TV.

it is sooo sooo sooo awesome. If you ever watch the battle at the end, its soo hilarious, I dont know if they were going for that. Its so cheap and so funny
just a large corny movie. i enjoy the fact that its lil bo peep and lil jack horner. and that game they play on the sidewalk cracks me up. especially when they hit the old mean guy in the head with the bean. great!
hmmm you know when you go over an old person's house and they have like one movie they make you watch everytime you go there. this was one this sister who used to babysit me always put on for me.
i just watched Theres Something About Mary on TV and it's, right away, among my favorites. nonstop laughs, with a touch of sweetness. and i normally don't like chopped, edited movies WITH commercials.

i'm not asking if he can GET the job,

i never said that.
i never SAID that.
if i said that, i was wrong.
(rinse, repeat)
MR. HOLLANDS OPUS!!!!! that is definetley one of my favorite movies of all time. soooo great. the teacher and then when he sings in sign language to his son. and all the music. i could watch this moive all day long (i would probably only get to see it 2 times in a day)
so heartbreaking that part when the kid asks how Beethoven knew which note was which, and Mr. Holland says, "Well, Beethoven wasn't born deaf" and looks off, clearly thinking of his son.
i don't remember this part. i'm going to have to rent it today and watch it. i hate the part when john lennon dies and he's all upset and he thinks cole doesn't understnad and cole flips out and is like of course i know who john lennon and the beatles are. just because i can't hear music doesn't mean i don't know what he stood for and all. love it!

Which is DBZ movie #8?
the one where Broly makes his first appearance. he's hardcore.
Oh yeah! I saw that one when it first came out in dubbed a few weeks back. He's so insanely strong it's almost absurd.
yeah he's a freak. i got the Broly japanese action figure and it weighs like 5 lbs! you could throw it and knock someone out.
AH! I don't know how I could forget this, but my sister is watching Real Genius right now..one of the funniest movies I have ever seen!
AH! i was just watching that too! i would like to add it to my list also!

"LOOK! SMART KIDS ON ICE!"
I cant believ i missed it, i got home from work and my broter tells me it was on, i knew i should never work
I didn't know so many people knew of this movie. When we vactioned in NC is was on every night and we just sat there and watched it over and over again. Val Kilmer should do more comedies.
does anyone have the movie on tape?
I have it taped off of disney but they cut some scenes out..blockbuster has it to rent though.
oh cool, I wasn't sure if blockbuster would have it or not

Amadeus is a great movie. I was weaned on it. Witty, genius, tragic and a little ribald...great combination.
LOL I weaned my kids on it too, all they wanted to hear was Mozart when they was little.
Mozart=Elton John IMHO BTW
i hate this movie with such a passion. my dad tried to show it to me and i do enjoy mozart but all i remember is the fat, naked guy at the insane asylum and how mozart tries to seduce a girl and then walks out on her to go conduct. such a scumbag. i hate this movie!!

-Life is Beautiful
-Breakfast Club
-Willy Wonka
-The Fast and the Furious
-Thumbellina
ok i'm sure i've missed a bunch...but that was what came to mind... hehe
ohh, cruel intentions...thats a good one...and life is beautiful...i gotta add that to mine
Sweet Home ALabama! That's the one I couldn't think of before and it made me mad..if we do all get together and eat lots of chocolate we should watch Little Women. However, we have to stop it at the point where Laury asks Jo to marry him because I just can't take the refusal.
oh, thats such a good movie!
haha ok, i now must tell my little women story
so as many of u know, i come from a family with 4 girls.. so as a child, i was told that our lives were exactly like the movie... my dear older sister, Ms. Forrestina herself told me that i played the part of beth, and therefore i would die at the age of 16... so every time my sisters would watch Little Women i would start crying hysterically when Beth died,,, finally my mom asked me why and i told her what forreste told me and frest got in major trouble hahaha and that my friends is why i am so messed up to this day...
hahaha, thats the funniest story...don't ya love older syblings who tell you lies that you fall for due to pure naiviety?
that's so cute. i heart you. very funny story. sounds like something my older sister would have done to me.
she is evil and she should be destroyed!
i agree! lets get her!
Ok, I am ready to relate my story cocerning Little Women fights, I didn't feel like it before. The problem in my house is there is only three girls. My older sister took this as meaning that she could eliminate Meg and make herself Jo (the cool writer) me as Beth (the ugly sickly one) and my little sister as amy (the prettiest). She was always doing stuff like this to me! Like with the chipettes (the alvin and the chipmunks girls) I always had to be the ugly one in the middle with the thick glasses.
aw! i feel ur pain babe!
i look away everytime cus it always makes me cry
the fast and the furious?..haha
-Star Wars (all three original ones)
-Little Women (with Christian Bale & Wynona)
-Gone With the Wind
-Empire Records
-Evita
-Anastasia
-Beauty & the Beast
I forgot Gone in 60 Seconds..for some reason I just love that movie.
gotta be jolie...
incorrect. theres TONS of other good actors in that flick. and the cars?jolie's decent looking and all [whats with her retarded hair in this flick?], but she's rubbish when it comes to picking good roles.
that movie has a great score, they guy that wrote it uses to be in Yes.
