eZabel Legacy
A New Jersey guy with a Florida childhood and a fro that demanded its own forum poll, Daniel Bazarte rolled onto eZabel in October 2003 and immediately started posting like he'd been there for years. His very first comment — "Long Live Capture The Flag" — set the tone for a member who showed up with enthusiasm and zero pretense. Dan was a General Chat regular who loved dropping into conversations with a mix of sincerity and goofball humor, whether he was waxing romantic about his childhood sweetheart Rebecca Smith ("she was my best friend from the time I was 3 until I moved to Jersey 6 years later") or posting "The Song That Doesn't End" on infinite loop until even he couldn't stop himself. He had a geeky streak too, evangelizing Xbox Linux mods and creating a poll about SphereXP, a 3D desktop environment that exactly zero other people on the site were thinking about. His brother Toby, who posted as bizarret, shared the Bazarte surname and occasionally the same threads, giving the forums a sibling dynamic that surfaced in playful jabs.
Dan's social life on eZabel was built around the tight-knit Jersey crew. His top interaction partners — tinser, thatdarngirl, yodasucka, skaorsk8, and ilikebirds — read like a roll call of the site's loudest voices, and he held his own in conversations that could turn from Angelina Jolie discourse to assembly hall rivalries to quoting Galatians in the span of a single afternoon. He attended nine events including go-karting, manhunt, and the legendary Computers and Such party, proving he wasn't just an internet presence. toxicgirl teased him about the hypothetical horror of "FroGirl," jollycandyman accused him of being jittery like he was on crack, and skaorsk8 responded to his love story with a blunt "this story makes me want to freakin PUKE... GET OUT THERE, MAN!" — the kind of roasting that only happens between friends. He read voraciously too, consuming 234 pictures and 190 forum threads, far outpacing his own comment count. Dan blazed through almost all of his 90 comments in a single furious stretch from October to December 2003, dropped a handful more in early 2004, and then vanished — a brief, bright burst from the guy whose profile picture explained everything you needed to know about the name.
eZabel Personality Type: ESFP — "The Fro." Dan brought warm, goofy energy to every thread he entered — romantic enough to drive to Pittsburgh for a girl with mono, nerdy enough to mod an Xbox, and funny enough to keep tulip entertained through weeks of banter. His time on eZabel was short but lived at full volume, a two-month sprint of events, riddles, inside jokes, and that unmistakable hair.
