lovers quarrel
by scene: target, saturday night at closing
the crowd was anxious. cutting each other as if on a cafeteria lunchline. abandoning carts and children to get on a shorter or faster moving line. we were there, three of us, myself, my sister, and my sister's brother.
my sister's brother was being very demanding of his personal shoppers. telling us to hold yet another pair of socks and "oh wait i need undershirts" as well. we had about all we could take and had to get out of there. what movies might be playing? how long could we wait on this line?
just then my sister sneaks off. what?! where is she going? she can't leave me here. ahhh she's back so quickly-and with a shopping cart. *snatch* the items in my hand are suddenly in the cart.
