some people need a hobby
I'm sorry but i've gotten so frustrated by some of the stuff i've read on here lately regarding which movies people should see and which people shouldn't see, so i just felt the need to write this. It's funny how most people who are commenting about it are either making self-righteous promotions on why they don't watch R rated movies or are defending why they would watch one.
I have a feeling, and i have seen it happen in the past, that most (but not all) of the people that give the old "look at me, i don't watch R rated movies because i'm good" line would watch any PG-13 movie if they were really interested in it, regardless of the content, so those people should just cut it out with the self-righteous crap. All they are doing is proving that they are not using their own consciences, but they are just doing it for recognition. True christianity is based on principles, not rules, and a good guideline to keep in mind is to remove the rafter from your own eye before nitpicking what you percieve to be a small imperfection in your brother.
I think all the smart people are keeping their opinions to themselves by letting others use their own consiences rather than being busybodies and babysitters. Chances are, we are all doing one thing or another that somebody will have a problem with, so we should focus the attention on trying to better ourselves, and worry less about what others are doing. honestly, I don't see why people even see the need to force their opinion on a consience matter (and I stress the word opinion) on others. I think i speak for many when i say that i'm tired of this whole topic and can you please just drop it?
Thank you.

agreed.
see thats why i just joke about things. and be non SERIUOS. right matt... anyway i dont have a problem with people who watch rated r movies or people who dont watch rated R movies. i only have problems with people who think they are too good to offer an opinion but rather write a journal about how people shouldn't offer opinions and with titles like " people need a hobby" and dont like to go camping with me. thats all.
so what are you saying? i think it has something to do with me...
i dont know.. wanna go camping sometime ?
one time in band camp...
quilting or bird watching can be very enjoyable, or maybe model car building. i prefer loafing, myself
the funky fresh breath speaks wise truths, and eloquently, i might add.
someone has been lying to you.
I'm still not saying whether i saw matrix reloaded. so get off my back!
i knew you were a little too quiet this weekend.
so, is this a round about way of you telling us that you are coming outta the closet or something matt?
ok. that's just wrong!
Matt I love you!!!!!
I do too and i don't care what anyone else's opinion of that is..
YOU ROCK MAN!!!!!
wow that was one of the best journals Ive read in a while!
you mean , aside from all of mine.
Ty my friend, that goes without saying.
I'm assuming most of this is directed at me... I was actually wondering and posing thoughts...
I sincerely want to know.. why does it seem that it's okay to see "The Matrix" when we get information from the slave class from the platform NOT to see R rated movies? Like, I never heard anyone say "Oh, let's go see 'Boogie Nights' or "American Pie'".. but "The Matrix" movies seem okay to many of the friends. Why?
I really wnat to know... I'm not chastizing or putting down, since this is a matter that individuals make for themselves... using the informatio we are given and what not...
this wasn't directed at anybody or about any movie in particular. this subjuct just seems to come up time and again and is more of a cause for divisions than for building up. anyway, there's no good coming from talking about it anymore. i think most people who read the journal got the point.
oh i think this was directed at someone, i say we take sides and all beat ty with a pillow filled with ketchup!
HA! he said Boogie Nights. i wish Paul Thomas Anderson would make a PG-13 flick. that'd make my day. i'm just waiting for Magnolia and Punch Drunk Love to come editted.
ok, end of thread. end of ratings talk.
