Yeah I agree about the tan. I need one badly. And I want to be at the beach even MORE than I was last year, if that can be accomplished... considering i was there almost every day.

I almost forgot! My aunt and 2 little (girls, 8 and 10) cousins from Poland are coming here for the whole summer, and I can't waiiiiit to see them!!! They're the cutest little girls ever I can't wait to take some days off of work and take them to the beachy.
It would be great to also go on vacation somwheres, but that might have to wait till winter or next spring. weeeeee

i'll be at the beach a lot this summer. i think people who live by the beach[likeme], and have been taking it for granted [likme], will realize the error of their ways and spend some quality time with the waves this go around. i only went like three times last summer.

i'm planning taking the summer to learn as much as possible about stuff i don't know. you know what would be awesome. someone who can teach me about cars. man. that would rule. my friend ken always said "you want to take your mind off stuff, buy wreck for $200 and fix it in your garage"...that's what i wanna do. of course, now he has a pristine 55 mustang.

Yeah that's why I'm not really big on basketball there really isn't all that much diving involved most of the time. Though I did dent a car one time with my shin playing.

Yeah I know janine we need to get some games together for this year. Every year we talk about how we are going to play a bunch of games but then they never seem to pan out and we end up playing like 2 maybe 3 times all summer.

well. i definetely know this summer that we're gonna be throwing another bonfire beach bash. so everyone surely watch out for that and be prepared to attend when it is called uppon you to do so. auxilary pioneering. road trip.reading and becoming a better surfer with the resources available at the jersey beach.

island beach state park is the only one where i know you are allowed to build fires on.
I keep thinking that maybe we should check out and see if any beaches closer like Sandy Hook allow you to. I love Island Beach State Park and all..but driving down there on a saturday is not fun times.
sandy hook they probably do but i have been there on even the sunniest of sunniest days and i'm still absolutely freezing!!!! the wind that just rips through there is so continuous and cold. and plus, it might put out the fire. and what if the only part of the beach we're allowed to build fires on there si the naked part?

hey, you guys did this last year right? did you have to have an SUV? and what are the rules?? we REALLY wanted to do this last year but i looked it up on the web and it seemed like you had to have sooooo much stuff and there were so many rules, it was anoying. how was it, what are the "REAL" rules?

We didn't take our cars onto the beach so I think that's where we avoided most of the problems. In order to do that I think you may need a permit and you also need the right kind of car. If you don't have the right kind of car you're going to disturb a party of kids every five minutes to get them to help you dig your car out of the sand (real fun times!). I think SUVs are okay for driving on the sand. But all we really did was bring wood (not nearly enough wood for a huge fire though..gotta work on that next time) dig a big hole (which you don't have to do but it helps with the wind factor) and set the wood on fire.

you only need permits if you're going to drive your car onto the beach. and like lynz said, that requires the right type of car and letting air out of your tires which many idiots forgot to do. the best was by the 4th car that got stuck, even though our WHOLE party was RIGHT there...we refuse to help.
but it's definetely major fun. reccomended to anyone to have one but if you can't, you are always welcome at ours!

you know what i wanna do?!?! find the one beach in nj that you're allowed to sleep at and have a big sleepover there. we can build a fire and if we don't wanna sleep on the beach we can just roll my car onto the sand and sleep in there facing the ocean!!! we should definetley do that this summer!!

You gotta get people who are really laid back, carefree, and see it as a "no pressures" kind of trip. My husband and his friend made an itinerary, but if things didn't go exactly as planned (which happened more than once) they didn't get all bent out of shape about it. I think that's key....who you go with.

not really, its not a lot of driving....its a beautiful drive up adn down the coast though...
yeah, i've been on that road...its soooo amazing...from cisco to la...man, cant even put it into words.
unfortunately...its pretty desolate...just you and the ocean and cliffs....occasional rest stop every 100935805 miles...which would probably be okay...except...our rent-a-car died. So, we got to stay at a rest stop in the middle of no where for three hours.
