An open letter of thanks
The May 15, 2002 issue of the Watchtower, page 21 paragraph 14 states in part: "It is heartwarming to see how God’s servants today continue to express loving-kindness by actions… Are you sharing in such acts in your congregation? If you are, be assured that your loving kindness is deeply appreciated.”
Well, that is very true. I was, and still am, taken aback by the amount of love shown to me, not so much by the “older ones” in Stanhope and even in Hackettstown, but by YOU… my younger brothers and sisters. Your love, concern and friendship has really gotten me over a very difficult situation and has healed a lot of wounds very… VERY quickly.
Words can’t adequately describe my thanks or the feelings I have for all of you. Sure, this is probably going to be a little mushy, but do you know how it feels to have people 15 plus years younger than you encouraging you? Coming up to you after the meeting to check to see how you are… giving you a hug of encouragement (yes, you oh Web-Toed one… and you Katiedid!!!)… it makes one feel special indeed.
Well, the past is firmly behind me and there is only the future to worry about. If any of you have ever watched that long-running British sci-fi show, “Doctor Who”, you will know that every so often the Doctor would regenerate his body when deadly harm has come to him (this would allow a new actor to play the part in reality). Each regeneration would pretty much be a traumatic experience for the Doctor and it would take awhile for him to settle into his new persona. Well, my regeneration seems complete and I’m in my “new persona”. (BTW Anyone who would like to WATCH an episode of the good Doctor, I have quite a few stories on video!)
Hopefully, I can encourage you brothers and sisters just as you have encouraged me. Just think of me as the big brother you never had (hopefully I will never be the big brother you never wanted – heh!)

This is EXACTLY what I mean! I knew Alison's family here and there through the years, but to be considered a big brother... well... sniff... that is so outstanding! But you committed the cardinal sin I warned Jamie B about.. you used the word "cool" to describe me... that's a no-no... that's like calling liverwurst "tasty"

I don't know if I'd want to be a big brother in the family. Imagine that!? Now, I don't really know because I don't have a big brother, but my guy friends are bad enough. Imagine having five younger sisters to look after? Especially when they're so pretty! Drive you crazy.
