The name's Bond... James Bond
by I don't know if it's a big secret, but I am a big James Bond, er, afficianado. I'm collecting the novels, have all the movies on VHS (but collecting the DVDs as I find them) and used to have all the soundtracks on vinyl. I also frequent the alt.fan.james-bond newsgroup and post on there.
Anyway, "Die Another Day" comes to theaters in November. To me, the last one "The World Is Not Enough" was okay, but a big let-down in a lot of ways. The Roger Moore Bond films, for the most part, were forgettable and my favorites are actually the early Connery and the 2 Timothy Dalton films. Pierce Brosnan is okay, but his movies are more big action hero stuff, rather than spy films.
What is it about the James Bond films that you like? What do you expect out of them? Story? Stunts? Exotic locales? The beautiful women? The fact that 007 is suave? Or do you not even watch them?

i think pierce brosman is the best bond. i like all the cool spy gadgets but it seems in the newer ones, he is "involved" with every woman in the story. but i must say that all the bond girls have the coolest names in the movies.
Brosnan brings a good personality mix of the previous four actors to the character, but Bond typically has at least one encounter with each woman in each movie (except in DAF... er... "Diamonds Are Forever" when Plenty was thrown out a window before they could do anything and in FYEO-- "For Your Eyes Only" when he wouldn't go to bed with Bibi Dahl since she was young and Roger Moore was like 60 or so).
I think Brosnan is the best Bond also! I look forward to the beautiful women but that isnt the most important part, its the only part!!! jk

If you like the womens names you obviously havent seen all the Bond films, I dont think alot of girls appreciate some of them
the thing that bothers me is that he HAS to hook up with every chick in the movie... they are like.. "IM GONNA BLOW YOU TO SMITHERINS!!!!!" and then after a vicious fight, she hops in bed with him, its just.. not right.
i know, plus every james bond has been some flabby nasty guy, except for sean connory. sean connory is THE MAN! same goes for batman. every batman has been some scrawny wimp with a gut. especially in the old shows, they had fake muscles... so gay
I'm very partial to Sean Connery. I would marry him but I think he make kick the bucket before I'm old enough.

In an interview he supposedly said that women need to be smacked around a bit, every so often. I hope that isnt true and he really didnt say that. But the person that told me about it, wasnt someone that makes things up or believes things very easily

James Bond is a fictional British secret agent that was created by Ian Fleming back in 1953 in the novel Casino Royale. Fleming went on to write 13 more novels before his death in 1964. The first Bond film, Dr No, was released in 1962 and this year, the 20th Bond film, Die Another Day, will be released in November. The current actor to play Bond is Pierce Brosnan. Um... well, I've read the novels and since Ian Fleming wrote the first one and he created James Bond for that novel... well... you know... plus in each movie, it says "(Name of actor)as Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 in (title of movie)". Bond IS more of a world-wide institution than Shrek is anyway... almost 50 years in novels and 40 years in cinema.
