Making Someone's Day

thatdarngirl by thatdarngirl · Aug 23, 2002 · 180 views · Journal

Have you ever made someone's day by doing something simple? I was out with a friend once eating at some diner in Penn. We were just having fun, it was 6 in the morning and we were sitting around in our PJs eating some good ol' diner food. When the check came we paid it, along with paying the lady a $16 tip. Did I mention the bill was $16 too? We weren't really thinking, we were just feeling generous and in that good mood where nothing really matters. To see that look on that lady's face though was priceless. First she asked us if we were sure and we just nodded and smiled at her. Her face lit up instantly. She smiled at us as we left, that smile that makes you feel good inside..like you knew you did something right.

Yes i've done it plenty of times. One time the next time i went in the guy remembered and gave me free dessert. One time we gave this girl a 50$ tip just for some pizza. stef remembers. She was cute too , she deserved it. she was so excited.

one time this girl i don't know really good or anything from school was heartbroken because they were gonna kick her off the cheerleading squad (oh no!) but she was crying so i bought her a rose and left it for her happiness. she smiled through the tears after that.

a long time ago, when I was in a band called Odd Man Out, we went out to eat the night before one of our shows. We went to the Outback. It was Ballyhoo(Brett--absolute zero's singer), Myles Bieniasz (from Agatha Factor, now), Jarad Weber, and I. We were joking around like CRAZY, we were all loud and having a great time, and we made sure that OUR waitress had a good time. So we entertained her, and cheered her up, so she gave us free sundaes.....which we ate, then put all over our faces to show our waitress. We had so much fun that night, and when we left, the bill was 60 bucks, so we gave a big 30 dollar tip. (by the way, you beat us, Ty)

funny how u can forget memories until hearing a similar story

i paid for my mom and my two brothers to go to disney world. on the way down, we stopped at 'south of the border'. when we got there, a huge group were just leaving, and i noticed the waitress was pretty upset when she saw only a $5 tip. when we finished eating, i left a 20 for her...you're right about that smile. i won't ever forget it. (unless of course i do, in which case, i am sure to remember it when hearing a similar story.)
