Another Honeymoon Location Request
Ok, I know its been done before, but my fiance and I are looking to book our Honeymoon this week. Any suggestions? places you heard were horrible that we should avoid, or places you've heard or have been that were amazing?
Please give a detailed (500 words or less) description outlining your reasons for or against said vacation spot.
additional comment: ok, we are not millionaires, so let's be a little reasonable, let's limit the available locations to Mexico and the Caribbean. We'd like to stay 7 days. longer would be nice, but 7's fine.

for...maui. soooo nice. i love it there. art galleries, beautiful views, the only forrest gump shrimp resturant in the world, and a skate park/day care center. Oh yeah and the witnesses there are really cool too. mmmm yes. Christian Reese Lassen is my hero.
mmm, Hawaii would be awesome. or Fiji. but I think that's out of our range.
how long are you looking to go for, and what kind of atmosphere to you want!
7 days. um, romantic?
my cousin is a missionary in fiji and whenever they come home it makes me wanna go there so bad. most gorgeous place on earth.
Australia all the way!
hmmm. that's not very detailed. Is it because of the Aboriginees and their boomerangs?
just take a look at some pictures and you'll want to go too
Im with you for australia... but nobody seems to go for that, except me
b/c it is pretty darn expensive to go there, moneybags. besides the fact that the time difference is so drastic that you need to be there at least 2 weeks-it takes a several days to adjust.
a friend of mine wanted to go and said it was like $5K for two weeks...
it IS really expensive but really really worth it. such a gorgeous place.
oh i know, i'm going there one day, it's my next trip after europe...
i have to get back to europe. i didn't want to leave italy and i didn't even get to see my family.
i found out a year ago i got family in ireland in the truth, i want to go there after london....
whats with all this negativity!!!! just go and forget about how much it costs!!!! hahaha, now if i could only convince katie of this... AND ANOTHER thing... why do girls ALWAYS bring up the long flight, sheesh... I am MUCH bigger than katie, she is tiny, she would have plenty of room in the seats, im the one who would be like a sardine...
do what they did to Mr T. on the a-team and just drug her and drag her on the plane...
hahaha, hmmm, you can do that bro... cause i dont wanna be around when she wakes up...
just make sure she wakes up on a beach and you're covered...
covered, as in wearing armor... hahah
cup definitely...
H AH AH AH AH AH AH A
I wasn't talking about the flight-i'm talking about the time difference from here to australia-jet lag and all, ya know. it takes several days to adjust to that. plus 24 hrs on a plane is a long itme
oh cry me a river, thats the fun of TRAVELING! hahaha
HAHA-i'm sure katie would agree w/ that! why don't you shutup and go make some money so you can take your woman around the world-unless you already planned on her paying. hahaha
hahaha, she makes more than me... shes richer cause she knows how to save her money... lol
I heard stay away from Grand Cayman - expensive and full of picpockets. My co-workers both just went to Cabo San Lucas and said it was beautiful. Only the food was expensive.
mm.. we were thinking of going to Cabo actually. We found some cheap all-inclusive packages. (Presidente in San Juan del Cabo I think). I guess if we got sick of the food they have there, and had to eat out at other restaurants, then the expensive food thing would be a problem.
Check the Western Regina in Cabo. If you really want my help, my co-worker can get discounts. Call me, you have mi nombre. :)
i'll get working on that essay...
How 'bout Costa Rica - my friend stayed their for $10 a night and there's monkeys!
i personally think any vacation should start and end in disney world.
no julie..no. And we're not going to Disney either we're going on a cruise
no i don't think so. we're going to eurodisney, not disney.
Can you take a cruise to Eurodisney? If so fine..if not..NO!
see if it was your year, a cruise would be fine but that is mine and sammies year. she wants 2 go 2 france. so off to france we go, unless she changes her mind or prices are too high. but we can go on just a regular cruise.
no that's not fair. because its like celebrating all our years at the same time so we have to compromise. and I wanna go on a cruise so we have to go on a cruise
where people's dogs eat at the tables and smoking is allowed
i recommend a cruise with one destination...like bermuda, or alaska, or europe. no island-hopping.
stay away from any place that has mosquito nets over your beds......
after that TV commercial for travelocity or whatever, I bet all those places with nets having been doing bad.
Just a realistic suggestion.. TELL everyone you're going away and just stay home... or take a honeymoon a couple of weeks after the wedding. You'll be too exhausted to enjoy wherever it is you're going to anyway.
Here's my suggestion:
Say you get married on a Saturday... go home Saturday night, rest up... Sunday morning, take a day trip to New England and stay at a bed and breakfast for a night or two. Go home, get settled, then a month later take a week-long honeymoon vacation. You'll be in a better frame of mind and can enjoy each other, as well as the place you're shelling out the big bucks to go to, even more.
When I went on my honeymoon, we went to San Francisco. No joke, the first place we stayed at (like one night, I think) we slept for about 20 hours with some breaks. I barely remember the place. Then the other 2 places we were at for the rest of the week were better, but we were in a strange area getting used to each other and it was a big shock... I will do it differently with wife number 2...
Oh, I haven't read through everything here, but how about a cruise?
Sorry, Brian.. I didn't see that...
interesting thoughts on the subject, but we're def. going away right after. and no cruise. I don't want to be stuck on a ship eating dinner every night with 14 worldly strangers at my table. the same 14 people. all week long. We actually just booked a place outside of Playa del Carmen. it looks real nice.
BTW, who IS your fiancee and where is she from? Do I know her?
a girl from Jersey. probably not.
That narrows it down...
....helpfully...
yeah she is really real, a real girlfriend from a real place, but you'll probably never meet her.
