Mountain Creek Opens!

deanh77 by deanh77 · Dec 5, 2003 · News · 347 views · ·

Just got an email from mountain creek:

The word of the day is SNOW! Thanks to the delightful cold snap we’ve been enjoying, The Snowlab Team has been out in force throughout the week across the Bear, South and Vernon Peaks. And forecasters are saying that Mother Nature could dump up to a foot of natural snow in the Vernon Valley by Saturday evening! Drum roll please… its official - for the second year in a row, we’re opening a full week ahead of schedule! The details? We’ll be open this Saturday and Sunday, December 6th and 7th, on Bear Peak at Mountain Creek South only. There will be one way down the mountain served by the Bear Peak Express quad. Only expert terrain will be open. Snow Sports School and MC Kids will not be open, but the restaurants, rental shop and retail store in the South Lodge will all be ready to go.

And its only $20.

Actually, my cousin's pretty good at basketball and he's a quarter Greek.

ekulu ekuluOG 2002 · dgiaimo

what are the other three quarters?

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 · ekulu

Something like a quarter Italian and half Portugese.

ekulu ekuluOG 2002 · dgiaimo

wellthe italian will make him smooth and the portugese will make him jumpy. With that combination he can prolly play pretty good

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 · ekulu

Mexican jumping beans Adam..not Portugese.

ekulu ekuluOG 2002 · thatdarngirl

thats funny because this past sunday a brother gave an analogy about "brother no-game" and he's called that because he has no game. theres a lot more to it. VERY funny stuff. i'll make a journal one day.

well, I went and picked up my buddy at 12:00 and headed up there, didn't get up till like 2:30, so we only got about an hour in. The roads in the morning were horrible in Edison. And I don't think they plowed Route 24 at all. craziness. I think we got more snow in Edison than at Mountain Creek.

I'd like to boast that I got to snowboard both days, almost all day each. But I did have to wait in the stupid "season's pass" lines twice with yet another one coming!!! The people there haven't entered my group's info yet!!!!!! How annoying!

ballyhoo ballyhooOG 2001 ·

You would boast. Boaster.

frobro frobroOG 2003 ·

It was snowing so hard it took me 3hrs to get there and it was so crowded that i only got in 3 runs

flomojopoanode flomojopoanodeFounder ·

"DELIGHTFUL" cold snap? Ok, anyone who calls freezing temperatures delightful, is crazy in my book. Yes I have a book!
