Sleep in your comfy drivers seat
This oughta be a nice little wake up call to everybody. (pun intended) For some strange reason I think this video is funny. Although he could have potentially died, it has some laughter to it. I know I have fallen asleep a few times at the wheel but at least I always woke up. Although seeing things that were a few miles ahead many miles behind was scary.
Anybody else have stories about falling asleep while driving?

anybody have the video mirrored? it's gone
WOW, he was just thrown like a doll into the back seat, and he was a big guy!
only story i got is when i was coming home and i was on rte 18 i was fallen a sleep and a few times actually sleeping, a cop had pulled me over cause he said I was all over the place so he thought I had been drinking, asked a few questions, and he musta gotten a call cause he was like okay drive safe, by and spun off!
& my sister had also kinda was fallen asleep but a cop pulled her over at 80 on a 65 or 55, woman cop, the WORST, so she got a ticket for sleeping with a heavy foot
After a cool Vegas weekend we were out all night Sat into Sun morning. We were all wired and decided to drive home that morning so we could have all day to rest, make meeting & get things ready for work the next day. Well after 45 minutes into the freeway it all of a sudden hit me that i needed sleep. Although i didn't FULLY doze off, i blinked and realized i blinked a little too long. So I had everyone pull over (we were in the middle of the desert with nothing around) and we just chit chatted a bit so i could get my energy up. Needless to say we made it home safe and sound
The rumble strips I can't even count how many times they have saved my life.
those startling booty ticklers. they've saved me too.
Bah I meant to post this under #5. It being posted her makes no sense. DOH!
you know whats funny, they do have those rumbly strips when you're driving into Vegas....thats what i thought you were talking about - lol
Unfortunatly for me it wasn't. I've never been to Vegas so I wouldn't even know that. though my uncle lives there.
y isn't the thing working? it won't play!
Driving home from the beach this summer on 287 was fun. It was probably after 12 and I found out how effective those little indents on the side of highways are at waking people up. Very good.
I haven't posted in a long time, but i just have to say this. Seriously, I'm disgusted that you would put this up here Magnum! This is like "Faces of Death" material. That guy definitely died. i have a knot in my stomach after having seen this. You have some serious problems if you find this entertaining. I do NOT find this funny at all!
The guy didn't die. I believe he was pretty much ok according to stuff I've read about the video. That's the only reason I approved it.
and here's some more information on the system used to capture the video, as well as other samples.
how could he not have been killed by that
actually, if you listened to the end of the video... he swears... so i mean, he survived the whole thing, which is pretty amazing.
are you kidding?! did you see how first his head went through the window, then the impact, which crushed the whole corner of the car with his head out the window. i was a passenger in a car that was not nearly as badly damaged in an accident in '97. but the driver hit his head very badly, and almost died, but was in a coma for like 2 months. no one thought he would live. where did you read stuff about this video?
even if he didnt die, it is still horrible. maybe i'm just really sensitive to this cause i've been there. it's still not funny.
i agree.. it's not funny to me either.
well atleast we can agree on this, that it shows that we all need to be careful when driving home, not just at night, but in the day as well... its scary to say the least.
Ewww...puke. I've heard about that 'Faces of Death' garbage. I am super sensitive about car accidents ever since I flipped a car. Thankfully, my computer is trash and too slow and antiquated to get that clip up and running.
Yo he didn't die, relax everyone...
ahha dude i'm with you. i found it hilarious when he flew over the seat. haha.. though i'm not a heartless man.. because i see how it can be sensitive to people who've been in the situation.
i liked it. laughed long and hard. some people simply can't handle it. accident-phobic, or they were in an accident and can't forget, or just not the type to think something like that is funny. like the post of your vehicular mishap: i laughed, because i pictured you wrestling with the wheel, saying "Ohsh." makes me smile, lol. and don't front, EVERYONE says "ohsh." the rest of the word rarely makes it out.

Being that I up until a couple of weeks ago was working at 2:00 am I tended to not get enough sleep before work most of the time so by the time I would drive home I would be exausted. One time driving home on the parkway I nodded off and when I jerked awake I was inches from hitting the gaurdrail on the parkway. I was so tired the rumble strip didn't even wake me up. It was pretty scary. I pinched myself repeatedly all the way home to help me stay awake. Thankfully it's on a 20 minute drive from where I used to work to home so it wasn't to bad.
I'm so glad I quit that job.
a bro in my hall wrecked TWO Honda accords after falling asleep. The second one was all worked too...
my grandpa used to fall asleep while he was driving a lot...i think he crashed into a tree twice or something...but he never really got hurt badly
My brother's childhood friend fell asleep at the wheel when he was 16. He wound up crossing over into oncoming traffic, and hitting a huge delivery truck head-on. He died instantly. So, ever since then, I've been pretty strict about having enough sleep when I drive, especially when I take long trips.
thats rough. my buddy flipped his van. that was funny.. because he walked away from it. but yea.. rough. i always fall alseep at the wheel. it sucks. i've crossed lanes... hit things.. lots of times. i gotta watch myself
if i ever find myself falling asleep, I just floor it. I mean really, go as fast as i can wherever i am going. It's hard to fall aslep when your adrenaline is flowing...
