What are the signs, symptoms and effects of Thai Pham disease. Out of all of them, that is what I picked. I probably should have done my research first.

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 ·

hm.. yea u have a point.. i picked the Thai Pham disease also but now i am started to reconsider... i mean will i look like thai? will i act like thai? will he actully infect me? these are all things i would not enjoy...

This was just a game, to see what happens when ppl are forced to pick the lesser of the two evils. And why does Thai get the #1 spot for everything??

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 ·

i think i'm guranteed to get diabetes anyway, since both my parents have it, and 3 of my 4 grandparents had it. Oh, i do love gentics.

ekulu ekuluOG 2002 ·

i'm in the same sitation, both my parents, and their parents too. plus i have a bad diet

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

my parents always say though, that you are much less likely to get it if you aren't overweight...which i'm certainly not...nor do i think i ever will be since i can eat the world and not gain weight...so i guess i've got that goin' for me

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 informative ·

ahem...you're not guaranted to get diabetes unless you wreak havoc with your blood sugar levels.

READY??

ok. diabetes results from mis-managed blood sugar levels. That's why diabetics have to give themselves insulin, which their body converts to sugar - slowly. Foods that help your blood sugar levels break down slowly over time (ie, protein), and foods that give a HUGE boost to your bloodsugar level (ie, a snickers bar) will definitely contribute toward being diabetic.

So...eat every couple of hours, don't starve yourself and then eat choclate for lunch.

hmm in retrospect i realized that my comment makes no sense -

i was trying to say - sugary foods = bad

non-sugary foods = good

dude... diabetes can also be hereditary. it also tends to affect elderly people regardless of their diet.

What's Lupus? I chose to have that.

tinser tinserOG 2002 informative ·

Common Symptoms of Lupus
Painful or swollen joints and muscle pain
Unexplained fever
Red rashes, most commonly on the face.
Chest pain upon deep breathing (pleurisy)
Unusual loss of hair
Pale or purple fingers or toes from cold or stress (Raynaud's phenomenon)
Sensitivity to the sun
Swelling (edema) in legs or around eyes
Swollen glands
Extreme fatigue

...and in some cases:

Lungs: Some people with lupus develop pleuritis, an inflammation of the lining of the chest cavity that causes chest pain, particularly with breathing. Patients with lupus also may get pneumonia.

Central nervous system: In some patients, lupus affects the brain or central nervous system. This can cause headaches, dizziness, memory disturbances, vision problems, stroke, or changes in behavior.

Blood vessels: Blood vessels may become inflamed (vasculitis), affecting the way blood circulates through the body. The inflammation may be mild and may not require treatment or may be severe and require immediate attention.

Blood: People with lupus may develop anemia, leukopenia (a decreased number of white blood cells), or a decrease in the number of platelets (thrombocytopenia). Some people with lupus may have abnormalities that cause an increased risk for blood clots.

Heart: In some people with lupus, inflammation can occur in the heart itself (myocarditis and endocarditis) or the membrane that surrounds it (pericarditis), causing chest pains or other symptoms. Lupus can also increase the risk of atherosclerosis.

Oh man..having Lupus sucks.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

yeah, it's too bad you choose to have it...don't worry, maybe they'll come up with a cure

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

hahaaha..it's so funny because I got all sad when I found out what it was like I really decided to have lupus.
