i think that getting married costs too much money. like, if i am the groom, i gotta pay at LEAST 4 thousand for a ring before the girl will even LOOK at it, THEN i have to get ANOTHER ring for a wedding band, plus I gotta pay for the honeymoon. AND why don't I get a shower where people buy me gifts (like video games?) If you ask me, the whole thing is rigged.

whoknows whoknowsOG 2003

Girls put waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too much emphasis on the ring. Sometimes. That's ridiculous, 4 grand?? WOW. Well maybe that's just me. AND just think - usually the bride or her parents pay for everything else, which is usually like 30 grand. That is an OUCH. Anyways.. just my thoughts.

hello, the shower is for both of you and it's things you need, not toys. besides, my husband registered for a game boy advanced when i was looking and one of his friends got it for him. doesn't hurt to try.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

hmmm but i already HAVE a game boy advance. I was actually thinking about selling it so I can get the new game boy that's coming out next month. but i like your thinking, beachbum. too bad you're married already.

beachbum beachbumOG 2002

well, if you get married w/i the couple of months, you can register for the new one and save yourself the trouble of buying it. btw, if you are going to register for something like that, make sure your wife doesn't like it too. i took over that gameboy like nobody's business.

whoknows whoknowsOG 2003

Exactamondo. And as far as the expense - I would have been happy with a .25 cent ring out of a bubble gum machine. I duno, i think it's about the LOVE not the SHOWY DISPLAY OF ONE'S MEANS OF LIFE

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

HAHHAHAHHAhaHA you really expect that it's gonna work that way?? PLEASE. my mom and sister lectured me for an hour after i suggested that the engagement ring be the wedding ring too.

beachbum beachbumOG 2002

yeah, well that's just cheap. the ring doens't have to be enormous, but i think that just being able to get her one, even a small one, shows some financial stability. if you can't even afford a ring, no way in heck you can afford marriage.

legiapol legiapolOG 2002

no i think ur wrong. i dont know how they do it out in the boondocks.. but the bigger the ring .. the bigger chance youll get married or something like that

malibu malibuOG 2001

i am totally going with you one this. from the point of a girl, i would only need one ring. like forget the whole engagement ring thing, why do you need one? people know you're getting married, why do they need the ring. and having to wear 2 rings all the time to show that you're married?? that's crazy. you only need 1!!!!!!!

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

thank you malibu. if I ever meet a girl that's worthy, I would like for you to influence her in this regard. Yes.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

my dad couldn't afford a real nice ring so he gave my mom a gold one with a red stone-i don't even think it's a ruby and a really simple gold wedding band. then for their 15th he bought her one with diamonds.

hunkpapap hunkpapapOG 2003

I have to agree on this point, i mean if you think that all those nighties and that lingerie are for her, think again....

cerbrato cerbratoOG 2002

4 GRAND FOR A RING!?!?! I'd spend that money on my car and toys
