i don't know why you are under the impression that people from long island are so "cultured." when i think of people from long island i think of those people that go into those cheesy gift shops wh...

tesoro Apr 3, 2007

Yeah, you are right. A place only 45 minutes from NYC...the greatest, most diverse city in the world, is uncultured. Maybe Hacketstown, NJ is the place REALLY bursting with culture, cause of all th...

alex Apr 3, 2007

uhh, Biff, i live 45 minutes from nyc as well. aaand i never said that hackettstown was cultural.

tesoro Apr 3, 2007

Well, I've been to Hackettstown many times to make that determination. How many times have you been to LI? (And, you live 45 mins from NYC if you're going 90MPH, maybe)

i've been to LI quite a bit. the only problem is once you go in it is almost impossible to get out. the traffic is pretty much the worst in the world. so it would take you longer to get nyc as well.

also, what do you mean by cultural. it's not like you can go visit ancient ruins in long island. are you really involved in the long island art and independent film community? do you go to the vintage clothing shops. are you an artist of any kind?

tesoro tesoroOG 2001

Yea, you're right, LI traffic sucks. It's 45 mins by train...no traffic there. By cultural, I mean, it has HUNDREDS of different nationalities. And with that comes a huge variety of restaurants, specialty shops, clothing. That is my biggest interest, and just SEEING different looking people everywhere you go. And actually there are quite a bit of historical sites in Long Island, we had tons of American Indians as well.

I'd take a ranch in Montana over a townhouse in LI anyday. It's like the tower of Babel in this area...

yeah, i like that. I miss that. South jersey mostly has just white folk. ha. It's boring. I love different cultures, languages, etc.

alright, well you get a lot of different nationalities in h-town as well. not HUNDREDS, but long island doesn't have hundreds either. but who cares about that any way. when i walk down the streets of h town i don't get excited everytime i see a spanish person, and say to myself "boy i'm really knee deep in culture now!"

Hahaha...That was awesome!

It is pointless trying to converse with simple minded people.

A
