JWmatch.com is messed up... how can you prove anyone on there is a witness or an elder or pioneer or what not? I wouldnt trust that place....
I don't wanna offend any one,,, but i find jwmatch.com completly disgusting...
yeah i don't like the whole idea. using a computer as a substitute for yourself to find a date is kinda weak. unless you're crippled for life or have real social problems or somethin i can understand.
i dont know.. i kind of find it FREAKIN" hilarious when someone takes your picture and puts it up there stating that you ' love long walks on the beach with a walkman while song number 43 is played '
good times.
well since someone did this to me.. i think i'm gonna have to pass on the torch and do it to... hmm.. dan hill maybe.. haha.. still that profile pic.. i'll send the link when i get around to doing it.
let me see the link..is it the same person who did it to my friend from toms river?
that is disgusting, i didnt even know about this. is it for real? personally, i cant believe that these are actually witnesses. ever think that its an apostate site?
Well..I know some halls have been warned against using sites like this for sure.
yeah we got a local needs talk on it and how the way you find your mate is at the kingdom hall, out in service, quick build and how you don't need to crednetials to walk into the door like you do to be on jwmatch.com
actually...not be argumentative...but to do a quick build, you need to have all your privildeges, a good recommendation from your elders, etc...which are kind of credentials. i'm nit-picking here, i know.
Well..if it's at your own hall you can do it. I helped with mine a little bit (I had to do food cause I was underaged..it was gross)soo..you can meet any new people that come to your hall to help?
shut down hyldon!!!!!!!
I loved the guy who went on and on about how he loves being a witness b/c there are always more goals, more ways to love Jehovah, yada yada...then you see he's 23 and "wants to get baptized this summer."
good thing hes been able to keep up with all his goals..no
and when are YOU getting baptized, bubbles?
WHAT IS UP WITH THIS BUBBLES THING? i don't get it...
im shooting for 22 or 23, you cant rush certain things
I just read this thread, and find it very humorous. There is actually a girl from my hall who put her profile on JW Match, and I find that interesting, because her dad is an elder, and you would think he'd try to be more aware of the goings-on under his roof. Anyways, this site (JW Match, not ezabel) concerns me, and I'm just waiting for a local needs part on it in our hall.
I was telling some of my friends about it. In my area, the friends are unaware of it and were totally appalled by it. It's been around for a couple of years now I think. But I agree with you, it amazes me that some witnesses think this is acceptable-and then they proudly post their success story. It's so dumb it's funny.
It's not that I find it "acceptable" or "unacceptable"...I just think its kind of disturbing that people feel the need to find a significant other online
What I'd like to know is how these people think they could possibly get to know someone well enough online to have any sort of serious relationship with them. Even assuming that both parties are being fully honest (which is an incredibly naive assumption) there's just so much you can't possibly find out about someone online.
You call them on the phone? I donno, I'm not speaking from experience here but they use the online thing just to find someone who they then get to know by other means.
So, my opinion on this matter is that you can only really get to know someone by being around them for a significant amount of time. I just don't think that long-distance relationships work, and if you meet someone on the internet, unless they happen to live near you, I don't see how you could have anything but a long-distance relationship.
our CO has mentioned things about it to the people out here
THere was a talk given in our Distrcit Assembly about internet dating. To me it seems pretty worldly. We logged on to see what it was all about and we could not stop CRACKING up! We found some from our area that had their pics up. But we refrained from mentioning it to them....it might embarrass them.
Wow. You're a lot nicer than I am. If I found out that one of my friends was on jwmatch.com I would have so much fun. :) They would never hear the end of it. :)
Someone I know actually did that. They made up a fake person on that site and put a picture of a biker with no shirt just a vest on and long hair down to his shoulders and then said that he as an elder and pioneer. It was pretty funny.
