there's no scouring of the shire at all, it was never even filmed. chances are that it won't even be in the extended edition. pj didn't "like that part of the book". altho, saruman being remove...

chances are they might show some things they didn't have time/money to shoot in a montage type sequence toward the end.

That might make me feel a little better..but I'm under the belief that they should have made 6 3 hour movies. That way everything would be wonderful.
