I have an interview tomorrow for the job I want...it's not in the hospitality field, like I had initially wanted, but it is a good job, pays well, and has GREAT benefits. So if I get it, at least we'll be covered until Adam gets a job.
Plus, it's less than 10 minutes from my house, and will allow me to either take Tyler to or from school, or both, AND I won't have to work nights or weekends. SCORE!!

si, si, yo puedo. Early in August 2004, I went to 2 Conventions. I knew I had to work at mine, so I decided to attend 2. 1 to pay attention. The other to work. My friend Toby had his in Philly, so we went together. He saw his x-g/f there and refused to go any more. So I stayed at my uncle's house and went alone on Saturday morning. I was running late--my uncle kept stalling me. Not that I blame either of them.
Also, I refused to make my aunt and uncle make me lunch, so I had to stop. So by the time I got to philly, the assembly was JUUUUUUUUSSSSST about to begin. It was probably 8:54am when I passed the Liacors Center (however that's spelled).
Anyway, when I went to park, I was waiting at a red light waiting to turn. There were three lanes going in the same general direction as me, and 3 coming the other way. It seemed as though the far right side, and far left sides were being used for parking.
So as I waited at the light, I waved to the parking attendant brother. When the light turned green, I jumped out ahead of the 3 lanes of traffic (one of which was being used for parking.) The first two lanes waited for me. Then this lady passed everyone (on their right, without a license, too...) and slammed right into the back passenger side door of my car. My car was pushed up onto the curb into the brother who was the attendant, and he went flying.
Oh man...Is he ok? I assume the woman is in trouble not you?

It's the other driver. She's suing me, which is retarded. She got a ticket for not having a license. You'd think that'd be enough. But the courts dismiss the fact that she shouldn't have been driving at all. They try to figure out who was at fault.
The brother who got hit was okay...but he really got his knee and hip messed up. I've never felt worse. I seriously was crying, I felt horrible. I wanted to go to the hospital with him and see if he was okay. He was just laying on the ground. The dent in my car from his body was huge. I feel that much worse for his poor wife having to hear that her husband was just hit by a car. ugh. I'm getting depressed thinking about it.

Just like how California has it's cheaper areas, but when you factor in the cities parts, like for example in the L.A. area you can't get anything decent for less than half a million. And even then you'd just be able to get an old 2 Bedroom / 1 Bath bungalow at that price or a trailer home in Malibu.
I'm going by for sale by owners since I just got this information off of landvoice.com. These aren't listed ones on the market, so who know if they're fair figures to go by... I'll look at the Otteau report I got recently, later on. But in Nevada the avg is about $500, Cali is about $557, HI about $600!, with DC just a little below 6. NJ is at $440.
These are all going by the entire state though of course. So each state has their posh places and cheaper places obviously.
Long story short... with Nevada, Las Vegas is to blame, plus it's proximity to Southern California.

There was this 24 year old on there that was saying he moved from Boston to L.A. after college, bought a 1 bed loft when he got to LA, and I don't know what year it was or how much he paid, but when he sold in it in just 1 years time, it sold for $100,000 more than he paid for it. It appreciated $100,000 in one year! Crazy

More, technically, it's based on absorbtion rate. Put simply, you get the figure from all the active comps' days on the market and how long it will take to sell off all that inventory.
A 1 month - 4 month absorbtion rate is a seller's market. 5 - 6 month rate is a normal market. 7 months + is a buyers market.
I have an Excel workbook that figures this out for me after I input the necessary information.
Last time I heard about Rumson, NJ's absorbtion like late last year early this year, it was a 3 year absorbtion. hahaha
Unless you live in the SF bay area, where an average of 30 days on the market is considered a buyer's market. :)
The rule of thumb is any house should sell within 30 days or within 30 showings, whichever comes first. (Even in my area of NJ where the market absorbtion is about 7 months, and there are many expired listing contracts) If it doesn't sell within a month, it pretty much means it's priced above market value. The market here in NJ could move as fast as SanFran if more sellers were listing at market value, rather than pricing way above, waiting on chance for someone to come see the home, and finally after months, wind up negotiating the contract of sale anyway. Thing is listing price scares a buyer from even coming to see the house without knowing their potential negotiating power.
Basically that goes for America on the whole right now. NJ went from a seller's market at like a year and a half ago, to a normal market up til like several months ago, to a buyers market at present. But, even say a seller bought his house here like 3 years ago, he'll still make a killing, selling even in this buyer's market right now. Plus, I try to explain to sellers, don't think get stuck on the idea that you're not selling for as much as your neighbor did a year ago. You'll still be making a killing, plus, whatever you buy to move is gonna be a good deal. It's all relative.
Like a $130,000 difference between AZ and Nevada.
Parts of AZ are cheaper.....but anywhere near where we live, is ridiculous. Compared to the east coast, you get half the house for twice the price. It's crazy. The house we're in right now, until we get our duplex, would probably be about $500,000 less in Ohio....still just as nice, but a lot cheaper.
There are less expensive places around here, but they aren't what you would call....nice areas. That's all I'm saying.

Not hard, just time consuming. I used an everyday italian recipe:
The recipe says to cook the custard on a really low temperature, stirring constantly until it thickens, and said that would take 7-10 minutes. It took 30 minutes of stirring for mine to thicken, so that was a little annoying. (Also, you need an ice cream maker.)

Ok so listen to this: a sister in my hall was studying with this couple. actually it is a pretty cool story. its kinda long so i won't really get into it now, but the girl's dog died. she loves animals, like loves them. so she was upset and crying before their study about it and she said something to the effect of "i can't wait to see my dog in the new system". Sooo, this sister gave it a week or so to let her get better and move on and then later explained to her that animals won't be resurrected in the new system and this girl got so upset that god won't resurrect her dog, both her and her boyfriend stopped studying. OK, is it just me or is that insane?
That's pretty crazy - the truth obviously wasn't in their hearts in the first place.
I had a talk about that recently, how animals don't have souls and won't be resurrected (it was from the reasoning book). It's funny that this was such a soft spot for the couple, because as I was writing it, I remember thinking how silly it was that people could be so attached to their pets. But I guess I'm just callous like that. :P
i'm not a huge animal person, at all, so i don't understand it. sure i have had pets and was sad when they died, but i didn't give up the truth because they won't be resurrected. i dont' know, i just thought i was being mean. but the guy that was studying, man, he completely changed his life. it was awesome. he got arrested and put in jail for drugs and he continued to study in jail and completely changed his life and everything. he loved studying and wanted to get baptized. sad that they are stumbled because of a dog.

WHY WHY WHY is this IPOD not more user friendly
the ipod is like the easiest thing in the world.
it's not that user friendly to be honest. and neither is iTunes. To understand the program, you must think as an Apple Fan-person. that's the only way. (hint - figure out if "update songs automatically") is checked or unchecked. To remove the songs from your ipod, I say "manually update songs" instead of automatic, then click the songs I want to remove on my ipod (NOT MY LIBRARY), highlight all the ones I want by using control and click - then Right-click, CLEAR - and DONE!

The UI for ipod is terrible IMHO
actually, the UI on the iPod is my favorite part. I think the click wheel is just about the best invention ever. And the menus are organized very logically. And I love how you can make on-the-go-playlists. I think it's great
it's really good once you get used to it, but for a non-computer person i could see it being almost impossible to understand.
I'm psyched cuz i JUST figured out how to hook up my ipod directly thru my car stereo system, without the crappy radio frequency thing, plugs right into my EQ

he has an aftermarket Equalizer that takes RCA stereo. He got the mini stereo (1/8th inch) to RCA stereo converter, and the right wires. :D
thats funny you say that matt. i am computer illiterate (it took me over a year to figure out how to operate ians ftp...and i was constantly working towards it, night and day, 24/7) but i totally get the ipod and itunes too, for the most part. like i have no idea what this EQ and UI and RCA stuff means, but i could definately show you how to hook up the pod and play with it. :)
Ok click wheel is good stuff. But I need a more web browser type, like with a back button, or up. I don't know its just not intuitive, it might be great, but the 2 times in the last year I've even touched Kamila's I got so frustrated.

I have yet to actually USE my Ipod. I've had it for 3 weeks i think. The ear things are to big for my ears, I need smaller ones. I hope it revolutionizes my workout. I think it will, unless I just end up dancing at the gym and not working out.

I hate those earbuds. Even when they do fit they're super uncomfortable. I just went out and bought some normal head phones (this also is good for when you hide your ipod in your bag so people don't mug you to get it..the white headphones are a dead give away to what you're listening to)
this is a very late comment, but i love my ipod. it goes most places with me and i use it quite a lot, mostly in my truck. when i have company i make a playlist and dock it to some nice speakers and let it rock. as for user-friendliness. it's mondo-easy to use. i just plugged it in and everything took care of it self. simple. BUTTTTT i'm thinking of dropping the Motorola Q and getting the Chocolate with the 2gig mem, so i would very rarely have to carry a phone AND an IPOD. . . HMMMMMMM . . . decisions
