Spring Time!!

tesoro by tesoroOG 2001 · Mar 12, 2007 · 6,355 views · ·

It's almost spring and it's supposed to be in the fifties today! woohoo! I am wearing flip flops to work...I was freezing this morning..but..here's to hoping.

Additionally, being that it IS almost Spring..I believe the quote at the bottom of the page should not be about a snowflake.... :)

Loving the new page design...it's kittens. (Cute, soft & cuddly)

Ooh, an Ultimatum! I was hoping there'd be an Ultimatum!

brothermanOG 2004 ·

These movies bored me. In fact Matt Damon in general bores me.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

i disagree. bourne movies are really good. damon is adequate as the everyman spy/assassin. the real star is the directing and action sequences which are a good deal above adequate.

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001 ·

The car chase with the mini in the first movie? Awesome. Love it.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

this is a good example of what i'm talking about. also that apartment fight with the assassin where bourne sticks the pen in the dudes hand. diesel.

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001 ·

Oh god! I always hide when the pen thing occurs. It's not that he sticks it in, it's when the guy slowly pulls it out that I want to scream...

A
alexOG 2001 ·

??? i don't get how the bourne identity movies can bore you and yet you can sit through nine innings of a baseball game. the most torturous, boring thing EVER! how does that work?

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

How do you get through 24 hours a day without killing yourself? Haha...
I just don't like Matt Damon. He has the same personality in every movie he does. Or maybe I am scarred from having worked at Cinema 10 in Succasunna back when Good Will Hunting came out. I must have seen that movie 100 times!

A

yeah that movie rocks.

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

i was at south street seaport the other day and there were filming permits posted because last week they were filming the bourne ultimatum there. about how you couldnt park on some streets because that's where they were filming. so now you know part of it will be in new york on fulton street.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

the organic apples taste like they came off a tree from my grandparents' farm in Poland!! The real taste really takes me back!

I ate "real food" for the first 11 years of my life so I always prefer natural/organic.. i have always eaten relatively healthy and I'm not a huge fan of fried food etc. But it bothers me how expensive organic stuff is like, how are people supposed to eat that stuff when it costs so much? annoying.

It's all about greed of course, like everything else.

tesoro tesoroOG 2001 ·

i do think greed is a part of it...but it must be more difficult to grow in mass quantities without using pesticides and such...i think that's why the other stuff is cheaper cuz they can mass produce so much with chemicals.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

yeah i guess i meant more greed on the part of the other guys

i don't think the organics people are greedy.. they just have no choice

but the bad guys are greedy and dominate the market and somehow make it impossible for organics to be more readily available

it's kind of like how there's solar power but it's nearly impossible to get and not readily availalbe

and cars that dont' pollute.. they are out there but because the oil companies need to make their millions... they are not readily availalbe

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001 ·

Did that localharvest.org site show any farmers markets in your area? That stuff is usually way cheaper than organics in the supermarket.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

nope. We have a farmers market in our town but i don't know if it's organic actually i should find out..

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001 ·

Even if it's not, it better than the food at the grocery stores, because they spray it with wax, it's often shipped a long way, etc.

I read today that San Francisco is trying to make plastic grocery bags illegal - they were handing out reusable canvas bags. I think that's really cool; it's such a little thing we can all do to keep pollution and the price of oil down (because plastic is made with crude oil).

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

Uh, who cares what this society does about plastic bags. Jehovah is going to reverse pollution one day. Why sit there and dwell on the use of a silly bag. ;oP

tesoro tesoroOG 2001 ·

are you here for the sole purpose of annoying people? i think you are. Yes, in one respect I don't think we as JW's should get crazy worried about the Ozone layer depleting and stuff like that because Jeh. wouldn't let the earth burn up...but why not do things so as to not ADD to the pollution?

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

No sense of humors on here. I like to annoy certain people. Why you might ask? Because they get all perturbed so easily. Am I mean? Yes. But it brings the entertainment factor to a nice level instead of boring conversation like:

"So yeah I had a cup of tea with honey today. It was scrumptuous."

"Oh yeah! I had a biscotti with my cappucino today."

"Wow! We should hook up and have lunch at Panera."

Snore.......

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

lol... you're such a fire starter!

anyway I want to have solar power in my house, i want a hybrid car or an even more natural fuel car if possible, or to just ride my bike around town .. and i want one of those huge windmills in my backyard (lol).. those things are awesome and i want to see more of them!

One person cannot change the world.. but the world can change for that one person! RIGHT?? i'd love to breathe cleaner air, eat real food, and not contribute to the pollution etc.. might as well somewhat enjoy life right?

and i would like my cup of tea with honey please

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

Haha... It's fun!

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001 ·

You should read that Detox Diet book I reviewed in the book forum. I think it's right up your alley.

originalsnob originalsnobOG 2004 ·

This has me thinking about the farmers market that's in my town. My grandmother loves it but, I've never really investigated for myself. I think ours has organic produce but, also fresh baked goods =)

Might pick up popularity as the weather improves like our new Ben & Jerry's nice places to stop after long day in service with the longer days...I'm so excited!

So the pope says hell is a real place

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,261844,00.html

Interesting to see how those we meet in the ministry will react. Also I immediately wondered whether people appreciate that he's only man and respond in harmony w/ Ro 3:4. In any case it gives us more than ample opportunity to show from the scriptures the truth.
Somewhat strange to note that one anchor man on FOX 5 I watched this morning actually mentioned that John Paul had actually leaned in a different direction not necessarily that it is a literal place.

i know right? sucks that its like 2 bucks more... i get mad when i see that, but i still buy it anyways, lol.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

yeah.. i'm starting to really lean towards organic stuff

i feel like.. okay.. a litle more money but i'm healthier and i have less crap in my body.. so.... it's worth it!

I also look forward to eating some real apples and oranges.

I need a Whole Foods. The prices at Acme are ridiculous because no one in South Jerseytucky buys organic.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

i LOVE oraganic! i get all my groceries at organic markets. you can def taste the difference!

do you have a trader joes near you? wild oats is the same as whole foods too.

iwz iwz ·

we started buying it because it lasts so much longer. it's worth it because a normal half-gallon would go bad before we finished it, but organic lasts forever!

i was afraid to try it at first. but then i did and it was really creamy and much better.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

i'd love to see your face when you're weighing it and deciding whether you'll try to drink it or not. that moment of smelling it, shaking it, noting the consistancy... and the tentative sip. lol

My convo over the phone with a dude I wanted to serve papers:

Diana - I need these docs served specifically on Monday between 10 and 11 am at this guy's house.
Dude - Why that time exactly?
Diana - Because he's a pilot, and we know he'll be home that day, and our client is going to be out of the house at that time.
Dude - He's a what?
Diana - A pilot.
Dude - What does that mean?
Diana - He's an airline pilot...
Dude - So what does he do?
Diana - He flies big planes...
Dude - Oh! A pilot!

Needless to say, I'm not going to use this guy.

okay, i have a talk tonight, and it was like...SUCH a tough talk to write...the Theme: "Apostolic Successors" Not True Christians. And they put me with a 13 year old girl!!! haha

my hubby came up with the idea that she is going to Italy and is all excited to see the Vatican and maybe the Pope and how "the pope is the successor of St. Peter"...so then I just go into it and explain it..

But it is like...so far fetched...to be having this convo with a 13 yr old. and all the info in the WT library is really complicated. ah well, we'll see how it goes.

superhero superheroOG 2004 ·

the reasoning book info on this was really interesting, but i could see how it would be hard to explain

tesoro tesoroOG 2001 ·

it went really well, i had my householder flip through a tour book of Italy to open the discussion, haha...i had about 4 people come up to me and say, I'm happy I didn't have that talk. haha

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001 ·

The sister that had this at our hall did it with a little kid too; her daughter. The school overseer (who's the dad) told me they were about to kill each other while they were practicing. Mom and daughter are both loud, obnoxious and ego-centric. It's my theory that they butt heads because they're so similar.

Your idea for a setting was much more interesting than hers: She just had her daughter ask, "Mommy, why does Grandma follow the Pope?" and then they just read straight from the reasoning book. I usually prefer settings that are more applicable to service.

And he doesnt' tear up anything else in the house and he behaves just fine even when we're not in the same room.

yessssssssssssssssssssssssssss

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Jackie Burkheart is actually my personal hero!

originalsnob originalsnobOG 2004 ·

ME TOOOO! If this was a trap whereas the above stated was secretly laden with sarcasm to lure me out IT WORKED but, I am UNASHAMED... so HA!

JACKIE FOREVER!

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

NOT AT ALL! I totally sit around and watch That 70s Show (one of the only two shows I ever watch..it's tied with Scrubs in my heart) and dream of one day being as mean and wonderful as Jackie!

I have also asked Ben the following:
-Will he change his name to Stephen?
-Has he thought about wearing aviators even indoors?
-What does he think about wearing fro whigs?
-Any thoughts on tight corduroy pants?

originalsnob originalsnobOG 2004 ·

Niiiice!

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

i dunno that show is ok, i've watched it. it's funny, but the jokes and pretty much each episode are very predictable. i would call it amusing, but shallow. IMHO

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001 ·

Update: I totally won. The attorney was nothing but sugar to me today. I'm still acting "icily indifferent" because she hasn't apologized, and I think that's what Jackie Burkhart would do.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

You ever see the one where she goes to Hyde's office to spread rumors about his sister? So great!

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001 ·

Hahaha - I love that one. That's my inspiration. ;)

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Me too! If I ever had to work in an office, I would channel my inner-Jackie.

Two things:

1) ezabel tags like bold, red, quote, etc now properly work across multiple lines. (the * [] *, r [] r, q [] q tags, is what i mean)

2) searching on Comments is now working again, in case you noticed it was broken.

I second that. How about an option where you can slap a person who annoys you? You know, one of those smileys with slapping motion. Hahaha.... I'd be getting slapped a dozen times a day.

Ah...The smell of spring, the feel of new baseball spikes, the feel of the ball off of the bat for the first time this year, the thrill of catching a fly ball. All are the makings of a perfect Sunday afternoon.

how can you check how much ram is currently running on your comp? it feels faster, but i wanna see numbers!

superhero superheroOG 2004 ·

right click my computer, go to properties

did you get a 1 gig card or two 512's?

i've been spec'ing out a laptop for myself, if you get a gig of ram with it that generally means two 512 sticks ... that's retarded

hey BV you know what readyboost is?? heh

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

yeahhh, i dunno. does that spec update after you install? because it still reads 256. and i got a 1 gig card.

superhero superheroOG 2004 ·

i'm thinkin you didn't install it QUITE right ...

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

grrr. got it from newegg. it came all by itself in a box. a little card. no install info.

superhero superheroOG 2004 ·

did it have a "click" when inserted? are both ends of the stick inserted completely?

are you sure you got the right one for your PC?

if you say your PC is speedier, yet it still shows 256MB ... that's weird

are you running XP with 256 MB? that's ... not fun

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

it's all good now. thanks, dude. i just tried to run my editing program with like hours and hours of video on the table. this would generally slow everything down to a snails pace, but now it's all slick and pretty. i'm pleased. definitely worth it.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

i am a computer EXPERT! i istalled a gig of ram! all by myself. my editing program runs like a dream now. i got a good price on it too. my next step is to get an ati-radeon type situation and i'l be done for now.
