Post from Costa Rica!!! Just came from the rain forest, I found yoda. & spanish keyboards are weird

iwz #32.1 iwz

Hey! Hope you guys are having fun. We're off to Paris on Sunday!

I wish they spoke Spanish in France, because I could probably get by a lot better. But the Costa Rican exchange rate WAY WAY better than the Euro, hehe. Buy me some stuff.

coreyfeldman #32.1.1 coreyfeldmanOG 2003

I´ll trade you, I speak french better than spanish, but we´re getting by. $1 = 568 colons. makes converting confusing.

we´ll buy everyone, nice stuff...like coffee

fivezero #30.1 fivezeroOG 2003

like there's more than one person in Toms River! oh, wait, Theraflu is here in TR, nevermind.

actually, no! there isn't a good place on 36. on route 9 there's two like right down the street from each other. El Familiar and Tanampa! both are really, really good. i love 'em.

juicymango #30.1.1 juicymangoOG 2003

yeah i figured you or robbie would know something

route 9... hmm we have a Tanampa down in Manahawkin too and it's super good i think it's the same type dealio

so i was driving home yesterday after work....im on the fwy and my gas pedal comes off....the WHOLE thing. so there i am stuck on the fwy i had to veer over (coast) to the shoulder. i had my hazards on and this big rig saw and stopped all the traffic for me and i coasted to the side and waited for the tow truck.

seriously most scariest position to be in

juicymango #29.1 juicymangoOG 2003

oh my goodness you ok?!

Ian, remember when we set up an RSS for this idea way back when?

iwz #28.1 iwz

Haven't heard any letter yet. But, yeah that podcast I set up was never submitted to iTunes, or anything else.

iwz #28.1.1 iwz

looks like there's at least one podcast of the Watchtower articles on iTunes, though. hasn't been updated since last year, tho.

englandkid englandkidOG 2003

do you have money??

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

of course, i do!

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

haha my bro-in-law and his siblings refer to their parents as "my mom" & "my dad" when they talk to ea other and they DO have the same mom and dad. LOL

tesoro tesoroOG 2001

haha, that's the opposite of the weirdness people do here. When people talk to you about their mom or dad, they say..."mom is coming at 12" they don't say MY mom. It really irks me.

And something weird that me and my bro & sis do is that when we are talking ABOUT my parents we say mommy said, or daddy said. haha. but we never call them that when we're talking to them. They're Dad, Mom or "Ma".

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

awww....we still call our dad "daddy" LOL even my oldest sis whos 50 still calls him that. but when we're mad at them it changes to "mother" and "father" or "mami" or "papi" which they HATE! lol

iwz #19.2 iwz

what is "self service password resetting"?

thefunkyfresh #19.2.1 thefunkyfreshFounder

typically, a web site that allows users to go to so they can reset their own password if they have forgotten it or if their account is locked out. usually they have to enter some kind of information to verify their ID.

yay #19.3 yayOG 2004

I could probably get this done programmatically but as far as an application/web app that does it I'm not aware of any off the top of my head.

Has anyone had indian food? i've never had it and we're going to an indian restaurant this weekend that has gotten outstanding reviews from a lot of people. Suggestions on what to get??

malibu #14.1 malibuOG 2001

i lov eindian food. for a first time eater anything followed by tandoori or vindaloo you'll probably like. the tandor is the special oven they use to cook that mostly makes the meat red but tender and juicy. vindaloo is this mildly spicy sauce. almost like curry. but read the menu and ask the waiter becuase the spiciness definetely varies restaurant by restaurant. i love spinach saag. to drink lassi's are delicious yogurt drinks made with fruit. malaka tea is like this spiced chair boiled with milk so its super thick.

tesoro #14.1.1 tesoroOG 2001

great! thanks!

superhero #14.2 superheroOG 2004

Indian food drives me crazy. It smells terrible (IMHO) and people are always saying to me "you'd like Indian food if you came with to such-and-such restaurant, ours is the best!"

i usually go and eat the bread and complain

tesoro #14.2.1 tesoroOG 2001

okay, i won't let Austin read this comment because he is very unhappy about us going. does anyone know if optimum charges more for HD broadcasts?

iwz #10.1 iwz

you have to get iO digital cable to get HD from them. so if don't already have iO, it's an extra $10/mo. if you already have iO, you have HD.

plus there's like cablecard rental fees, and stuff like that.

of course you can get HD over the air for free, too.

superhero #10.1.1 superheroOG 2004

yeah ... which is better? I'm pretty sure we have the basic (normal) cable, nothing special. Not sure if we have IO or not. Maybe i'll read my bill.

iwz #10.1.1.1 iwz

HD over the air is superior quality, but limited selection. Cablevision has like 40+ HD channels.

Do you have a cable box? If you don't, you don't have iO. If you do, you may have iO but it could just be an older cable box. Do you get like TCM?

superhero superheroOG 2004

TCM = the movie channel? no idea, never checked.

we do have a cable box. i will check on this tonight.

iwz iwz

Turner Classic Movies. There's a bunch of channels that you get with iO that you don't have normally with just Family Cable.

This is a digital transmission found bouncing around inside the atmosphere of a small asteroid believed to have recently exited a black hole. The early darkness does sometimes get depressing, but i like the different seasons/times for different reasons. In the spring/summer it's light out late and you get a lot more accomplished, but in the fall/winter you get to just stay in more and kind of be cozy and boring temporarily. haha Also it's better for starting movies. wow. is everyone affected that much by the light and darkness outside? to me, those things barely register. i look at the numbers on the clock and i get up and go.

i guess i understand though. day to day, you get used to seeing things a certain way as you carry out your routine.

i guess it doesn't occur to me because i've worked nights in the past...

its def more annoying when you are driving home from work and its dark already... makes me want to go to bed earlier. i think there was that report about money people spend going out to movies and dinner and whatever cause of the time change, im looking around online for it, but it was crazy the difference
