okay, to be honest, i didn't know the answer.... But.... if this was my daughter, I would absolutely, positively, blow my brains out. As a parent, I would know that I failed at life, and it is no longer worth living.

Hey everyone! My cousin had her first baby this morning! WOOO HOOO!!!! I'm a second cousin!!!!(again). The baby was so tiny! Only 19 inches! About 6 pounds and ? ounces. I'm so excited!

it makes me glad that a 14 year old could stand up to that kind of pressure from his parents, to do what's right

i always wonder how i would react if that was me, and everyone was pressuring me - i know it would be hard to do the right thing

you ever hear stories of how someone's in the hospital and the nurses will whisper at like 2 AM "just take the transfusion, we won't tell anyone" ... man.

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

Just goes to show his Aunt did a good job in making Jah real to him. That's why its important for parents to study with their kids.

superhero superheroOG 2004 ·

so true. and equally important for all family members to study together.

you can pretty much tell the kids in the hall who have family study and the ones who don't. (not always, but for the most part).

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

That would be my family while I was growing up. Very dysfunctional household. All I can do is not let that be repeated now that I run my own household.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

that happened w/linda. her blood count was down to a 2, she was dying and when no one was around, in the middle of the night or they were cleaning her wounds they'd whisper, "come on linda, dont you want to live? just take the blood we PROMISE we wont tell anyone" when she told me that it just made me sick and creeped.

you know what's weird? When people's hair is the same color as their skin. Like overly tanned girls whose hair is the exact same shade of brown-ish as their skin. Or Nicole Kidman. So weird.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

OOOOO i know what you mean. like that one tiger girl singer. the one that was on dancing with the stars. i couldnt stop staring at her cause she like blended in

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

i love how dita von teese looks too. i've been debating on whether or not to dye my hair that dark dark brown or maybe even black. but my skin isn't pale at all so i'm not so sure i'd get the same result as her or even half as good.

tesoro tesoroOG 2001 ·

okay, i get the retro idea, but i'm still sticking with my boob observation because, you can see that it's not a padded bra, that is in that cone like shape, she looks like she's wearing a flimsy, padless bra, and therefore really does have weird, pointy boobies. hahah

No way! I was thinking how pretty she is looking more natural and not like every other famous woman wearing a wonderbra. (is she even wearing a bra at all?) I totally respect women that are comfortable being themselves and don't feel the necessity to alter their bodies with surgery just to conform to the "perfect" idea of beauty. She's got a cute face, gorgeous eyes, and a nice stomach...her breasts better not look perfect sheesh. lol:)

well, i was exaggerating with a boob job, but there is no reason you should have a funny looking chest, they make amazing bras, bra inserts, all kinds of stuff, there is no good reason not to utilize those tools. And i'm not saying only BIG boobs look good either, i think women look cuter sometimes with a small chest, but they don't have to be POINTY! haha

gizmoEst. 2006 ·

Sounds yummy.

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

How much of each?

theremin thereminOG 2002 ·

Mojitos get 1oz of alcohol I think
So with 2 Kinds of Rum, it'd be .5oz of each rum

The general recipe is:
Rocks glass
Several Mint leaves & sugar muddled
1 oz Rum
Fill with sweet & sour mix
Top with club soda
Lime squeeze garnish

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

bacardi is 80 proof, but that cruzan mango stuff is like half that and is used more for flavor. So, do one ounce of each. it's yummy.

My ex is creating problems for the Jake in school.... geez.... She sent an email to the school saying she wants him to participate in the Winter concert and sing holiday songs... See Ian, this is what I was telling you about before. She's a trouble maker.

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

That's ok though. I talked to the principal. Jake only has to sing the winter/seasonal songs. She just boils my blood. Some women are pure evil. haha

iwz iwz ·

Wow, that's pretty rough. :/

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

since you have custody cant you put her on a "do not" list. like "do not release info, child, ANY INFO" type of list. like if she calls just hear her out and thats it.

we had had guardianship of my nephew when he was little (his mom, my sis, had MAJOR issues going on) and we did that with his schooling etc. so he was not to be released to her, the school wasnt to contact her, adn if she called it was strict that they dont take her advice (etc) like just ignore her like the crazy lady. and the school complied.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

yeah i was gonna say how does that hold any water, a parent who does not have physical custody at the time, in a different state no less, what say does she have

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

unless the schools etc know, specifically, they still release info etc cause she is a "parent" ya know.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

nutty

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

oh yeah it is. we had to go through it and its not fun. like my poor little nephew was almost a "prisoner" at his own school. my sis was crazy and his dad was in and out of prison so we had to take EVERY step to have him protected.

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

The stupid thing about the arrangement is that it's considered split custody still. So by law she has rights to enforce stuff and get info. I couldn't get the judge to uphold a "no holiday" celebrating in school. So what I am going to do is file a motion requesting that the children make a choice on their own whether to do it or not. Jake is 8 and has chosen not to. So I think 8 should be the cut-off for both kids.

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

And while I'm at it, I'm requesting more child support. I get $50 a week for two kids... Give me a break. I know people who get $150 for 1 kid.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

so its joint custody? you dont have them like a 51%/49% type thing?

how old is emily? (thats her name right?)

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

Its more like 85%/15% and yet they consider it joint custody. haha...

Yes, she is 6. Speaking of her, her teacher gave her a book about ghosts yesterday. I was pissed. I told her to throw it away. That woman seems to side with Emily's mother. Don't ask me why...

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

And 13.5% of that time she has is a month in the summer that she takes them.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

of course she'll side with the ex...satans helping her. just hang in there. beleive me i understand that troubles.

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

Well I'm gonna help her with a drop kick. Hahahaha....

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

hahaha seriously huh? too bad you cant put the kids in private school.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

that's all the help anyone ever needs. a good dropkick usually sets matters straight.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

yeah... because it's okay for parents to lie about santa, the easter bunny, the tooth fairy and other crap, but it's NOT OKAY for us to "brainwash" our children with Bible Truths

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

People are sick and twisted, what can ya do.

theremin thereminOG 2002 ·

Well, you know that's not strange, right? Of course the teachers are gonna side with the non-Witness. Because the teachers generally want the kids to participate in everything and not have any restrictions.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

unfortunately, for it to be any good, it'd have to be a digitally shot indie. perhaps centered around disenchanted french rich kids hanging out and waxing intellectual/philosophical. there'd have to be a love story, or even triangle, that forces the group to break up, leading them to abandon the secret party spot, which will later be found by the patrolling catacomb police. evidence could lead the cops to the young people, forcing them to happily reunite in the tense court setting. the return to the catacombs and resume their parties under the noses of the authorities. the end. i should freaking write this!

OTHERWISE we can expect a really cheesy, over the top "innocent teenaged american tourists get tortured and killed after stumbling upon a sinister french catacomb cult's ritual ceremony" movie from our awful, crappy, exploitive hollywood system.

i'm sure there's a legit french documentary and movie or two about the catacombs floating around.

iwz iwz ·

Haha, there was more smiling than it looks like in the pics. I tend to take more candid photos.

Most of the people that we went out with spoke English to some degree. And the guy sitting on my right at the restaurant is actually an American, from LA and Brooklyn Bethel. He's married to the girl on my left.

Thanks! We really did. Mikayla had a bit of a sore throat and cold the entire time, so that was really wearing her out. But I think she did a great job of holding off the full wrath of it until we got home. She's really sick today, heh.. :(

Why Paris... ummmm good question. I think Mikayla just one day decided she wanted to go to Paris. Probably to see Versailles mostly. We love Europe. And old stuff. Neither of us have any French in us. She did fit in quite nicely, though, especially with that fancy scarf she bought ( http://picasaweb.google.com/ianzabel/ParisInTheFall/photo#5137289400667997778 ), haha.

Hey everyone. How was the long weekend? We had a relaxing, uneventful weekend up until sunday morning. Our Kingdom Hall burned down. :( It was so sad. We went there after the flames were put out and it's a total loss. The four exterior brick walls are standing, but everything was destroyed inside. So we have a lot of work ahead of us. We have our meeting tongiht at a neighboring hall so we'll find out more info tonight. Plus, our car was broken into sat. night. There were a few cars on our block hit. They only thing they got was my transpod...which is like $100. So we made a police report. But we could have had the GPS in there, my cd book, my ipod. Man, i would have been devasted. Especially about the cd book, because a lot of those things you can't replace. (CDs that were signed and such)

We usually always keep our doors locked, but we think we didn't sat. night, cuz we were carrying in a bunch of stuff from the car and prob just forgot. Ugh, it's so invasive to think someone was rifling through your things. it makes me mad.

So, that was our crazy weekend....sheesh.

UPDATE:

So last night at the meeting. We were told the fire was definatly due to some recessed lighting that had insulation packed too tightly around it. And we're going to do our building project in Feb. in 4 days. How cool is that?! Reporters were at our meeting last night and videoed the whole first segment, and interviewed a number of people. There are more articles and stuff, all really positive. This is going to be a really good witness!!

hey guys,

we made it paris! but the strike is terrible. haha. we braved the RER to get to the hotel (i think we were the only ones from our plane to take the train.), but it stopped short about 5km because of the strike. the taxi lines were about 150 people long, so we asked around and took the metro from there the armed guards were very helpful in herding the crowds onto the super packed rush-hour trains. finally made it after about 1.5 hours after leaving the airport. not too bad though, because all the trains are FREE!

the weather has been rainy, and a bit cold, but not too bad. it's hard getting around with the strike going on, but we made it to the Eiffel Tower last night, it was beautiful. very cool to see at night. we were going to travel to Versailles today, but the RER is not running, so we're going to see the Catacombs, if we can get there, hehe.

so far, we've had some good crepes, and no gross french food. haha. we're doing our best to try some of the small local restaurants, but the weird french food keeps scaring me off.

okay, have a nice week!

they're super cool. Gina hooked it up, let me tell you.

I cleaned out my closet this weekend. I got so mad, frustrated, and angry at myself for not doing this sooner. I threw out over 100 hangers that were in there for no reason. I organized my clothes (suits together, pants, etc) and took out all my summer clothes (polos, tee shirts, etc). I even threw out a shirt I've had from the GAP since 8th grade that I loved and wore all the time.

Gotta move on with life. I found some new clothes that still had the tags on for like 5 years, that's why I bring this all up. I gotta wear them.
