1) Silvertide - Excess Baggage
2) Silverchair - Frogstomp
3) SP - Excerpts from here
4) Mad Season - Above
5) Mother Love Bone - Apple
6) A Perfect Circle - Mer De Nom
7) Alice in Chains - Dirt
8) Chevelle - Point #1
9) Singles soundtrack
10) Deluge - Sideshow Freak
alice in chains is sooo amazing....one of those bands where you can readily hear the connection and relationship there is between blues hardrock & metal..it's allllll related
yeah they are amazing. Too bad Layne died. Jerry Cantrell still makes albums. Can I just say something...It has been a long time since I heard a band that like blew me away. Like its been 10 years and yeah people write albums that are ok and I will buy them but dang Puddle of Mudd, Staind, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Creed, Blink 182, Simple Plan, AFI, Kid Rock, Third Eye Blind etc... you get the point. The only new band that has somewhat blown me away was Audioslave and Chevelle (before they were famous) but other than that these new bands are weak. I want to hear something fresh and new thats awesome. Like if anyone can turn me onto something that isnt all about how punk you can be, or about how fast and loud you can play, something more like an Alice in Chains sound that just endures forever.
there's a lot of music out there that's purpose goes beyond making money via trendy catch phrases and non-talented but easily digestible riffs - it's just that you won't find any of it in the mainstream(which encompasses all the bands u listed)...there's always going to be sugar coated pop for the masses - there always has been...dig deep brother!..the underground is where it's at..haha, & even there, you'll find your share of corniness
haha top 10 worst bands list
1) Simple Plan
2) Good Charlotte
3) New Found Glory
4) Dashboard Confessional
5) Buckcherry
6) Limp Bizkit
7) Smash Mouth
8) Trapt
9) Dishwalla
10) Great White
Had to add some crappy 80's hair metal band to that. No offense but those dudes like Warrant and Poison just scare the living bejesus out of me cuz they are horrible. Feel free to diss other bands that you can't stand such as Dishwalla.
Simple Plan is the worst band out right now. hands down.
dude, dishwalla is one of my favorite bands ever
i think dishwalla is somewhere actually washing dishes.
Haha yeah. I mean not too many bands with stupid names like that last.
i actually think they just came out with a new album.
hahah i love the smash mouth songs but i completely agree with you because they all sound the same!!
i thin anyone who listens to music is a big stupid idiot
debbie gibson - electric youth
I think I have that perfume somewhere..
huh?
Debbie Gibson's Electric Youth perfume.
oh my goodness you do not. you are too much! Electric youth Feel the power, you see the energy
My sister had it and I think I took it from her when she moved. Coolest bottle with this electric pink swirly thing running through it.

aint he adorable?
BRRRRRRRIAN!!! I am the adorable one! ME ME ME!
i know! i know! you are adorable in the cute, special, inspiring and wonderful ways that girlfriends tend to be! whereas, dan is adorable in that 'aw poor thing' type way.
wuve. twue wuve.
Farmer Bill and the Shrimp Shack Shooters - Big Doodie Pumpkin Pie Mass Destruction Lipstick Stink Nuggets
i left out Smashing Pumpkins - Melon Collie and Infinite Sadness. it's like 28 perfect songs. completely blows me away. Billy Corgan is amazing. i'm imagine he'll be doing some solo stuff soon. i heard some of it on the SPUN movie soundtrack. UNBELIEVABLE.
i liked smashing pumpkins..however i really really dislike zwan..i dont get what the big hype is.
ZWAN was a fun departure. all sun shiny and poppy. billy got to work with people who are talented AND like to take orders, similar to his old band. Zwan's done tho. all broked up.
i think Siamese Dream was the best one. by the way, Killswitch Engage, very good choice.
this is hard so i just put what i listen to the most in no particular order:
Oasis - (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
Third Eye Blind - TEB
The Beatles - Abbey Road (i think i listen to that one the most)
Paul McCartney - Back in the US
Travis - The Invisible Band
Sublime - The Best of Sublime
Stevie Wonder - Definitive Collection

Wander this World -Jonny Lang
c/mon guys, give him a try, hes your age! sounds so world wearly a la Clapton.
Frank Sinatra- Classic Sinatra
The Temptations- Meet the Temptations
there are so many other bands and albums that could be listed but the other day i saw "what women want" and mel gibson is a pimp in this movie and always listened to frank and i just though, wow frank sinatra is amazing and i love him. and i saw a movie based on the temptations and thought the same thing. they sound sooo good!!! anyways, this is what i'm diggin right now so they are my favorites albums.
forgotten::
james brown- in the jungle
jay-z- mtv unplugged
just can't get enough of james brown for some reason as well. and i just love jay-z singing hard knock life with the roots doing the beats in the background. so good!! you just feel their soul and beat of the music with them. great stuff!!
i can't imagine hip-hop unplugged, it seems wierd
there's simply no way it can be truely unplugged..they prolly just got some candles out & sat down on some stools...& called it unplugged
i hate jay-z but the unplugged was great. the roots... played all the instruments.. it is definately a great album
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf
Radiohead - all of them!
Aimee Man - Magnolia sndtrck
Sublime 40oz to Freedom
Brad - Shame
N.E.R.D. - In Search Of...
NIN - the Fragile

Tomahawk - all of them!
ahh i might as well add mine-

4. Sublime- 40 Oz. to Freedom
5. The Suicide Machines - Definition to Destruction
6. Madness- Total Madness
7. Rancid- And Out Come the Wolves
8. Dynamic Syncopation - Dynamism (check this out for some chill hiphop music)
9. Tribe Called Quest- Anthology (You on point, Tip? All the time, Phife)
10.Red Hot Chili Peppers- By The Way
i have something to add to this. Dyanmic Syncopation was NOT something I discovered on my own, sadly. But, if ANYONE ever meets a weird kid from out in the sticks of NJ called Palou (not sure how to spell this- it's pronounced "PAY-LOU") please have him call me. because i have a lot of questions for him about music.
1. Travis - The Man Who
2. Coldplay- Parachutes3.Weezer-Pinkerton
4.Radiohead-Ok COmputer
5 Guster- Keep it TOgether
i didn't even know people in the states listened to guster
Yay, I am going to see Travis in October.
where when?? are there still tickets??
I think it is somewhere in Philly on October 25. My friend is picking up the tickets.
sweet im gonna make some calls thanks
oohh that is sooo awesome, did you ever hear their cover of "Hit Me Baby One More Time"? So funny, but awesome
i love all of those albums as well. weezer wouldn't be that high on my list tho.
i think Guster's Keep it Together is by far my favorite albums of theirs yet. so good.
How's their old stuff?
Their old stuff is great! Definitely worth a listen, and possibly a purchase!
oh you cheeky devil! I almost bought Lost and Gone Forever, its definately next on my list
n'sync - all of them
backstreet boys - all of them
big l - under the ground
you forgot Mandy Moore
I was just reminded of more..
Incubus - S.C.I.E.N.C.E.(This album really shows their jazz capabilities...and rocks like heck)
Coldplay - Parachutes(I absolutely ADORE THIS ALBUM!!..like, every song, is my favorite song..I don't think I own anything else that I can play 4 times in a row and still be entertained)
Prime S.T.H. - Underneath The Surface(You would all like this band, semi-heavy pop-rock)
Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights(I love brit-rock..these guys brought it back w/a vengance, adore it)
i'm stupid.. you're smarter..t hinking there's a way..
yea prime is a good band.. they still putting out cd's.. haven't heard from them in awhile
what!!..you're the only person I've ever met that actually knows who they are, I love that album....that song "She" is awesome, whole album rocks
stupid/smarter.. of whatever the name of the song is.. is my favorite... but i haven't heard from them in a looooong time. anything new ?
I doubt it, they like never got anywhere near big....If they did have anything new out I probably wouldn't stumble upon it for a while cause I never have them on my mind when I'm in the CD store...in fact, I always draw big blanks while looking for CD's to buy..I can never come up w/anything..& then the second I'm home, I think of like 10 albums I wanted
s.c.i.e.n.c.e is definitely the best incubus album...and can i just repeat that i LOVE coldplay?
NOT as much as I love'm!...coldplay's like, like my woman..I don't need no chicks!..I just put coldplay on, & everything's good...we get odd stares when we go on dates though...me..sitting there..accross from a compact disc..people need to chill, we all have our quirks
no no no, impossible....they are my favorite band....i live for them...and chris is hot....and their videos are hot....and their music is so hot...man, they are the best band just to chill to and drive to nowhere
::invisioning courtney in her jetta driving around her block for hours, blasting coldplay, all day, and never getting anything accompolished, because of her coldplay addiction::
haha, no no, i do take pointless rides though...but not around my block...that'd be gay...ussually i go to the beach or some woody area...pretty places.....its my escape from everything, i love it
hmm..interesting...when I want escape..I drink 3 bottles of nyquil...
hahaha, hey...i thought you were one of the ones who never tried it
lol, no, your memory fails you once more oh senial courtney..(go take some ginkoba!!..my mom says you'll turn into an elephant, remember everything)..that was jahanna I believe...I think that's in the uh, "Age Ain Nothin But A Number" thread
maybe this is a dumb question, but aren't Interpol from NYC?
yea well that is a dumb question.. soooooo it doesn't deserve an answer
ah, yes..but have you ever heard them?..the may reside, IN NYC..but, their musical influence/sound/style is purely british...by brit rock I meant, vibe, genre...not like locality of the band
questions like this are so difficult for me...
lets see
goldfinger-hangups
third eye blind-s/t
the ataris-end is forever
jimmy eat world-bleed american
dashboard confessional-swiss army romance
mest-wasting time
weezer-pinkerton

Yes-90125
Allman Bros.-Live at the Fillmore
Eagles-Hell Freezes Over
Beatles-ONE
Ambrosia-Anthology
Journey-Greatest Hits
Amadeus (the movie)- Soundtrack (really!)
Talk about a generation gap!!
woah...you like the goo goo dolls?? that, in my opinion, is their worst album.
i just had this on my profile last week....its:
Coldplay-Parachutes
Our Lady Peace- Gravity
Third Eye Blind-TEB
Dishwalla-Opaline
Vertical Horizon-Everything You Want
Nine Days-The Maddening Crowd
Good Charlotte-GC
All American Rejects
The Used-Self titled
(in no particular order)
Parachutes is soooooo darrnnn goooood.....D'you have their second album?..I like it, but, #1, I bought it @ a time when I was working day in & day out w/this guy I couldn't stand from my hall, so I connect it w/him...and #2, nothing can take the place of their first one...Beautiful album
oh yeah!!! its so awesome, both their albums are!
Yea, but parachute need to open up more.
ok bad pun.
WOw, i didn't think any body like dishwalla or 3eb or VH but me...
are you serious? They are only some of the most amazing bands ever
All three bands are great. I still get excited when I hear Couting Blue Cars.
yeah, that song is sooooo good...have you heard the new album? i'm in love with it...i may marry it
you do know they're like a christian gospel rock band right?...goodness you're so pagan I can smell it
what? no...isn't good charlotte too or something though?
haha, no it doens't matter..as long as they're not like promoting false religous beliefes in their music....Supposedly P.O.D. is a christian band too...AND Hopesfall..AND Creed...I was surprised by all of these
sixpence none the richer too.
I didn't know that. But I don't understand these so called christian bands. I thought they had to talk about God and stuff in their music. Do they consider themselves christian if they don't curse in the songs?
well, hopesfall - a hardcore/spacey-rock band from north caronlina mention god every once in a while....they don't curse @ all...But bands like P.O.D., lol, I don't get that at all...I think the classification of a christian band is a band who makes it a point to make it known that they're serious about their faith, and that all the members of the band feel they've been "saved"...and I guess the lyrics will sometimes reflect that...that band The Smoking Popes is another one...
Yeah, i think if they don't curse, and claim christianity, some just declare themselves christian rock bands. Next thing we know, linkin park will be one. Although, i must say, Creed does have a an occassional religious overtone, like, lemme think, I think My Own Prison. Sample: "A court is in session, a verdict is in/No appeal on the docket today/Just my own sin."
pink floyd - animals, meddle
rush- 2112
yes - closer to the edge
fu manchu - the action is go
king crimson - red
i used to have aenima on tape but i listened to it so much it broke.oh well :(
