They are making an X-Men 3! Supposedly due summer 2005

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

Really? there were rumors but I never heard anything official. Wher did you hear or read this?

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

I knew they were gonna make another one..I just never heard when. Very exciting.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

I don't know if the deal is inked yet, but I think they're just trying to sign hugh jackman and then they'll proceed with production.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

yeah...that may be hard....they signed all the actors for 2 yrs, so ice man is definitely back...but some of the people who were in the first and the second might not be back

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

i hear Halle Berry is out! she was a great Storm, i thought.

they'll get Hugh tho. no question.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Nooooo..why didn't they sign these people on for longer? She's an awesome Storm. It sucks to change who plays who in the middle of the movies :(

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

maybe they won't include storm in the movie....yeah, seriously, they should have made the contracts longer

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

If he isn't wolverine there is not point in seeing it. He is the perfect wolverine.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

yeah, i don't think they'd make anybody else wolverine

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

NEWS regarding X3 and X4. looks like they're gonna shoot'em back to back! this way they won't have to go thru the hell that it is to round up all those big name actors again, or at least for a long while. A VERY GOOD IDEA. read on:

New trailer is out for The Day After Tomorrow

http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/dayaftertomorrow/trailer/large.html

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

HEY! good eye. i've been itching to see some more footage of this epic flick. it looks amazing. i like Jake Gyllenhaal a lot [ever see donnie darko?] and Dennis Quaid is great. they also have that old dude from the 5th Element. I can't wait to see this. i love disaster flicks. the last good one i saw was the Core. everyone else hated it tho.

specialk specialkOG 2003 ·

I liked The Core. I thought it was really good.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

* Kevin Smith will write and direct THE GREEN HORNET, based on the comic book/radio serial/TV character, for Miramax. Smith expects to have a script ready in time to begin shooting by late summer. And NOW Kevin Smith becomes a HACK. *sigh*

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

* Charlize Theron is in talks to star in AEON FLUX, a big-screen adaptation of the MTV series created by Peter Chung, for Paramount, Valhalla Prods., Lakeshore and director Karyn Kusama. Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay wrote the project about a futuristic assassin known for her extreme style, cool attitude and tight clothes. Okay, I LOVE Aeon Flux. It's so racy!

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

hmm. i recall seeing this when i was younger. very racy.

theremin thereminOG 2002 ·

' can never get enough of Charlize.

Speaking of Aeon Flux, I hope they come out with a movie for The Maxx.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

haven't read these. maybe i will. Warner Bros. has set scribes Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty (X-MEN 2) will adapt the Orson Scott Card books ENDER'S GAME and ENDER'S SHADOW into a film to be directed by Wolfgang Petersen. The Hugo Award-winning book series begins on Earth after an alien attack. Gifted children are recruited for war, with a prodigy leading the assault against aliens. Petersen, however, has not locked his next movie. He's still interested in BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN or SHUTTER ISLAND, based on the book by Dennis Lehane (MYSTIC RIVER). more here: http://www.frescopictures.com/movies/ender/endersgame_update.html

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 ·

boo yea can't wait for that one!

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

can't wait for this one.Catherine Zeta-Jones is joining the OCEAN'S TWELVE ensemble for director Steven Soderbergh, Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures. George Nolfi wrote the project that reunites the original cast of George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle in another crime caper, this time with an international flavor. Bernie Mac, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Vincent Cassel, Elliott Gould, Eddie Jemison and Carl Reiner also return for a story set in Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Monte Carlo, Italy's Lake Como, Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Zeta-Jones will play a Europol agent and potential love interest to Pitt's character.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

i was hoping that julia roberts would be replaced with catherine zeta jones...

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

now how would that make sense?

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

catherine zeta jones is the new hottness...

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

as opposed to some corny term for outdated that will smith would use?

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

hahah you're such a dork. you KNOW julia roberts is horrible. all these lame movies, too. come on. "my best friend's wedding"??? "notting hill"?? you've got to be joking. i give her two good movies. they just happen to escape my memory at the moment. ok wait i remembered. the pelican brief. ok just one.

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 ·

my best friend's wedding is an amazing movie! shut up or we're not best friends anymore!

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 offtopic ·

i notice that every 5 minutes we are no longer best friends. i'm not allowing this to be held over my head ANY longer.

from now on, i am officially melody's best friend, until thursday, october 29th, 2005. this is a legally binding contract.

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 ·

LOL! I've never had a contract with a best friend before! this is exciting!

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 · yodasucka

listen, don't go getting all attached. the minute it's october 29th, i'm signing up with vinnie

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 · skaorsk8

Arcudie?! i LOVE that kid.. we are getting married... he just doesn't know it yet

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

what about i love trouble?

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

That is definetly an awesome movie.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

yeah, when i was younger it was my favorite movie...i think its one of her less well known ones...but its so good...weird

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

i think upon further inspection you'll see my question was to highlight the continuity problem switching julia with catherine would cause. i don't even like julia roberts. although she was good in the Mexican and America's Sweethearts. not a favorite at all.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 ·

some girls might disagree Mystic Pizza and Steel Magnolias are two of my favorite chick flicks.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

I absolutely love American Sweethearts. That could easily be one of my most favoritist movies ever. So funny. Keeekkkky

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

I agree with you, she is GORGEOUS! I think Ashely Judd is too, such "classic" beauty!

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

ij4 pushed back The fourth INDIANA JONES movies has been put on hold as a new script draft is commissioned. Frank Darabont had been brought in to script a concept the trio liked, but sources close to the production said Lucas was unhappy with the draft. Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford will now bring aboard another screenwriter to hone Darabont's script. At this rate, Harrison Ford will be 98 when they are finally ready to shoot.

*intwestin'* Mos Def, Zooey Deschanel and Martin Freeman will star in the Spyglass Entertainment/Walt Disney Co. adaptation of THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY for Hammer & Tongs. Mos Def will play Ford Prefect, an alien disguising himself as an out-of-work actor who sets out on an intergalactic journey with his best friend, mild-mannered earthling Arthur Dent, played by Freeman. The duo hitch a ride through space with the two-headed president of the galaxy, the beautiful and brilliant scientist Trillion (Deschanel) and a depressed robot while on a quest to discover the meaning of life. I've never read the books, but I hear they are funny and brilliant. I don't know if Mos Def can carry his own flick tho. He's great with ensembles like the Italian Job. But from the looks of it it'll be fairly low budget. I'll probably end up seeing it, if it actually gets made.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

see, now, THIS is good news. excellent work, mr. valentine.

iwz iwz ·

the books are definitely worth reading. superb wackiness.

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

Yeah I read one that book a while ago but I still remember that it was funny.

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!! this is such exciting news. i love mos def and the parts of the book that i've read are absolutely hysterical. i'm kinda interested to see how it's going to turn out on film because there's just random things that happen in the book. like pudding falling onto someone's head.

specialk specialkOG 2003 ·

I am extremely happy about this. I just finished reading the books for the second time, and heard about this earlier today. I am SO there. I think it's pretty interesting that Disney is involved...not what I'd expect.....but I'm sure the movie will rock, just the same.

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

Only twice? I can't count the number of times I've read these books.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

additional bit A big-name actor is hitching a ride on a much-awaited adaptation of a Douglas Adams novel — Confessions of a Dangerous Mind star Sam Rockwell has signed on for a role in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Rockwell will play two-headed alien Zaphod Beeblebrox, who also happens to be the president of the galaxy and an intergalactic thief (he's absconded with one of the most expensive spaceships ever built). Beeblebrox and Earth scientist Trillian (Zooey Deschanel) encounter Ford Prefect (Mos Def), an alien studying the Earth, and Arthur Dent, a benign Earthling, when the latter duo flees the planet just before it's demolished.

The long-in-the-works flick is set to begin filming in April, under the direction of Garth Jennings. Karey Kirkpatrick rewrote the original script written by Adams, who died in 2001.

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

i wanted to see confessions of a dangerous mind very badly but it being rated R prevents me. i wanna see if it goes on tv. probably comedy central where they won't edit anything.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

umm, if they won't edit anything...then what's the point?

perrin perrinOG 2004 ·

That's an oxymoron.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

i think she was exaggerating. comedy central has minimal edits. i thinks theres a total of 4 words you ca't say. and no nipples either.

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

i don't remember what i said here. did i spell something wrong that annoyed you??

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

hahaha, i'm sorry! yeah...i edited it for spelling...i'm the spelling/grammar nazi....sorry!

salty news
Rumors of Star Wars: Episodes 7, 8, 9?! this bit of info is fetal, so take this with as many grains of salt as your meager palate can handle. http://aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=16780

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

No..Lucas swore he wouldn't do those (I didn't read the info on the site..the link wasn't working right for some reason). I really don't want to see them, not just in case they are bad but because the books have already painted a perfect picture in my mind that I don't need destroyed.

If he does do them he should use the original people because they look older and all..but I doubt Han Solo is fitting in those pants again.

sad news
the disney animation studios in florida have closed. remember all the amazing movies we grew up watching? well, there won't be very many more done in that traditional style. and none with disney characters and concepts. Legacy might pull off something tho. read on. s'kinda sad. http://aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=16759

watch them form their own studio and own disney :)

thats what gonna happen. Legacy studios will OWN. they don't have the franchises, but they do have the power do NEW and INVENTIVE things. they'll tackle ideas and subject matter Disney wouldn't lay a finger on. this will be intersting to watch pan out.

LOGAN'S RUN REMAKE! does anyone remember the original? with the hand crystals and the short lives and the RUNNING! i saw it when i was quite young and i loved it. haven't seen it in years. but it's said Matt Damon is gonna be Logan. a decent bit of casting. rumor has it that Brian Singer of the xmen flicks will direct. and boy can he direct! this should be fun.

You're kidding! I love that movie. Do you know when it's coming out?

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

i saw it....its not bad....weird of course....deep, but good

ophelia opheliaOG 2003 ·

weird..and deep, but good?...the way you phrase it, makes it seem like for something to be good, it shouldn't be deep, but this, was an exception..lol..i bet you liked the fast & the furious?(no offense to anybody who did)

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

haha, thats not what i meant...i think i was addressing the adjective "weird" when i said "but"...because generally weird is negative...though it doesnt always have to be. But, deep...that can be good or bad...depending on the circumstance. Like ren and stimpy for example, they are way existential...

Oh wow..that was great! Doc Oct is the best!..well maybe not the best, but he's pretty freakin awesome!

Now..I used to love Kirsten Dunst but I hate looking at her face now and I still maintain she is a bad Mary jane.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

i'm the opposite. i don't like her under normal circumstances but i think she's a swell mary jane. who do you think would have been better?

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

I don't know who would have been better, but there are definite things about her as Mary Jane I don't like:
-She's not sassy enough
-She doesn't wear cowboy boots

..actually..there aren't real reasons she just doesn't fit my MJ vision.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

fair enough. but keep in mind she's still young. she's not the Mary Jane Watson Parker that she'll grow up to be. she's not an actress yet and she's still finding herself, i suppose. it was enough for me when she called peter "tiger." i saw the sass coming out a bit. i guess she did a good enough job in my eyes.

T
toxicgirlOG 2003 ·

I agree with you, I don't dig Kirsten Dunst as MJ. However, it could be worse...Lizzie McGuire could've been cast as Mary Jane.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

That would have been so horrible. I gag at the thought.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 informative ·

*I recall some expressing interest in seeing the Battle of Shaker Heights, the newest Project Greenlight film, executive-produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. how can star wars not be winning? Thats the best triology ever.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

what I don't know is--how Indiana Jones has not ONE vote! those are amazing films.

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

What I don't understand is how Back to the Future has gotten any votes.

T
toxicgirlOG 2003 ·

Then why didn't you vote for it?

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

because i voted for something else when i made the poll. i'm apparently more fond of another trilogy. i'm just surprised no voted for it.

tesoro tesoroOG 2001 ·

i like the indiana jones movies. but i LOVE the 3rd one..the last crusade. thats my fav!

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

yeah, definitely like that one the best too. sean connery rules. and i just love when indie tosses that nazi guy off the zeppelin and says "NO TICKET!"

tesoro tesoroOG 2001 ·

haha i know! i love sean connery...the part that always makes me laugh so hard is when him and indie are being shot at and chased..and sean goes.."they're trying to kill us!!" hahaha

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

see that's why i couldn't vote for the indiana jones triliogy because i only really like the 3rd one. the 2nd one just grosses me out and i have never watched the whole one. and the 1st is allright.

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

Yeah, the second movie in that trilogy really ruins it for me. I really like the other two, though.

Aint It Cool News has posted several great reviews of ROTK. read 'em here www.aintitcoolnews.com

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Oh wow..that last part about sam and getting married as calmed all my fears. My little sister said she heard there was no "raising of the shire" which would just totally ruin EVERYTHING but I have faith in Peter Jackson as a fan.

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

Peter Jackson is hanging by a thread with me over what he did to my boy Faramir in the Two Towers. If he doesn't get Return of the King right I don't know if I'll ever watch one of his movies again.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Yeah, he really did ruin Faramir (who I love with a passion). I find it hard to watch some parts of Two Towers, but he did do an amazing job with Gollum. I just don't understand how such a big fan could do that to Faramir when it wasn't even necessary.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

you can't have it all, folks. sometimes you have to give certain things less attention to give the more important things appropriate weight. it's a sad thing but not at all uncommon in film. i think PJ did the very best he could. and theres still no word on what's in the extended footage. theres about an hours worth, i understand. you may get what you want, in the end.

iwz iwz ·

the changes in the film adaptation don't bother me really, especially after watching the interviews with the writers. they did what they could. and it is an adaptation, not a direct word for word movie. it's one person's idea of the story. so, the movies are great on their own terms. the books are still there for all to read :)

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

I definitely agree that the movies are great on their own terms. They just disappoint me when I compare them with the books. And the Faramir thing really bugs me because he's probably my favorite of the human characters, and PJ went and turned him into a clone of Boromir.

iwz iwz ·

did you see the Extended Edition? Faramir is saved a slight bit by it.

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

Not yet. My dad got me the gift set, but I haven't had a chance to pop it in the DVD player yet. I'll definitely be watching it on the 15th, though.

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

D'oh! I meant the 16th.

iwz iwz ·

there's no scouring of the shire at all, it was never even filmed. chances are that it won't even be in the extended edition. pj didn't "like that part of the book".

altho, saruman being removed completely from rotk is a little sad, but watcha gonna do. 3.5 hours for the theatrical release is already LOONNNG

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

Sigh. So I guess he's removed all trace of the underlying theme of the books, huh.

iwz iwz ·

which the good vs evil thing? or the tale of hobbits?

either way, i think i'll be happy with pj's conclusion to the films. the writing has been excellent (if you can look at it purely from the standpoint of the film on there own.) and i don't think he'll let us down.

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

There is a major undercurrent in the books that is essentially Tolkein's lament over what happened to Europe, and the English countryside in particular during the two world wars of the last century. The reason the scouring of the Shire is so important is that how the hobbits felt when they returned to the Shire and saw it so changed represents how Tolkein felt after he came back from fighting World War 1 and found his hometown, and many other towns in the English countryside overtaken by industrializing forces. In that chapter he's lamenting the loss of the "simple" agricultural life that people used to live with the new industrial life that was forced upon England by the war fever that swept Europe.

I think that PJ is doing a wonderful job of telling a great good vs. evil story, but he's taking out a lot of the points that make the Lord of the Rings great literature as opposed to just a good story.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Actually, if you read the intro that I have in my books (they're really old, I'm not sure if it's in all additions) he says he wasn't talking about Europe and England at all and it was not his comment on how he felt about things going on around him.

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

Maybe he didn't do it consciously, but that doesn't mean it's not there, and it doesn't mean the books were not greatly affected by his experiences with war.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

But he had a lot of the books or ideas of middle earth drafted out on paper or in his head for a really long time.

starshiptrooper starshiptrooperOG 2003 ·

too bad its so demonic~!

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Now..the last time you complained about the triology you said it was violent..when did you make this sudden switch?

starshiptrooper starshiptrooperOG 2003 ·

ok, its violent AND demonic.

lol u nut, i love these movies!!!! its just too bad they're violent and demonic! hehe!

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

maybe i'm glad i never read the books

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

..I just don't understand not liking that part of the book. If you read Tolkiens intro to the books you see that that is like the most important part. And even when Sam looked into Galadriel's mirror he saw part of the scouring on the shire, so how..I just don't understand. That just really brought everything together and I'm afraid I'm going to be very disapointed.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

chances are they might show some things they didn't have time/money to shoot in a montage type sequence toward the end.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

That might make me feel a little better..but I'm under the belief that they should have made 6 3 hour movies. That way everything would be wonderful.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

HAHA, i feel the same way. i feel that way about the matrix flicks too.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

this is gonna be so absolutely crazy!!!!!

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

okay, this is probably just for me...two stephen king short stories are being made into movies! the last SK short 'story to movie' that i liked was the Shawshank Redemption. abolustely inspired. it's hard to say which was better--the movie or the story. VERY hard. anyway, this stuff looks interesting. especially Ride the Bullet. i loved that story.

* Jonathan Jackson, David Arquette, Barbara Hershey and Erika Christensen have been set to star in RIDING THE BULLET [Stephen King short] for writer/director Mick Garris and Brad Krevoy's Motion Picture Corp. of America. *new* I don't know how real this is, but it's a funny piece of news. Rob Schneider, Pauly Shore, Carrot Top, Tom Arnold, Matthew Lillard, Tom Green, and Joe Piscopo to star in the much-anticipated remake of MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

i don't think that's a good idea

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

That looks great. Tim Burton really is the man. We were watching Edward Scissorhands the other day. That movie can make me cry, just he music, and Wynona Ryder looking so beautiful and it's perfect!

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

tell me about it. the end scene where she's dancing in the snow is to me one of most awesome emotional pieces of film ever made. the music smashes me into little bits. another shout to the dude who did the music, Danny Elfman. he's amazing. he's done all of Tim Burton's movie scores. all of it is GREAT.

"The Digital Bits is reporting that there is finally some official information from Lucasfilm regarding the release of the Star Wars OT (episodes IV, V, and VI) on DVD. The movies are coming to DVD in September of 2004. The animated series of Clone Wars shorts appearing soon on the Cartoon Network will also be released on DVD, possibly before the end of this year. The teaser campaign for Episode III will begin in January of 2005, leading up to the May theatrical release. Finally... Episode III will hit DVD in November of 2005."

May 2005!!! I'll be 26 by then! What's the holdup! (Of course, if it's gonna be as bad as Episode II, I can wait.)

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

In my excitement for the Tolkien trilogy I have really forgotten all about Star Wars. The movies just don't hold a match (is that the phrase) to the originals or how good the Tolkien trilogy is.

u guys hear about the new Dr. Suess movie? i'm SO freaking excited... comes out sometime this month... i can't wait!

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

yes. but i don't think it will be that great cuz i saw a preview and in some of the scenes mike meyers makes the cat seem really gay. i think he's trying to be funny but it just comes out so annoying.

dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

I'm unsure how they're going to make the movie at all interesting. The books are definitely not conducive to theatrical conversion. At least, not in a way that would make them interesting to watch. Unless everyone spoke in anapestic dimeter, but I don't think they're going to do that.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

it's Dr. Suess characters plus FART jokes. oh boy.

* Spike Jonze will direct WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE , based on the classic Maurice Sendak children's book for Universal Pictures and Playtone's Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman. Pic was originally developed as a CGI film, but the studio and producers sparked to Jonze's live-action vision.

Is the new Russel Crowe movie about Christopher Columbus?

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

No. It's based on a series of books written by Patrick O'Brian.
Here's a link to the series on Amazon.com.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 ·

oh neat. you've read these? do you recommend?

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

I've never read them. I found them because I was also trying to figure out what Master and Commander was about. Judging from the comments made on Amazon, they look pretty good and I might pick them up sometime if I have some free time to read.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 ·

sounds like a plan. i want to read them before the movie.

Anyone have info on the new real-people peter pan movie?

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

peterpanmovie.net
it's looks pretty good. they actually used a real boy to play peter, i like that. i don't know if it needed to be remade like this tho. i heard it's not great. buncha no name british actors.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

yeah using a girl for peter was weird.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

I saw the previews and I'm pretty excited about it! Cartoons are one thing, I always enjoy real life versions though. And of course, Hook is one of the best movies ever, but it isn't really the Peter Pan story. I just love Peter Pan...and Robin Hood.

updates
* Jeff Vintar (I, ROBOT) will write sci-fi adaptations of Y: THE LAST MAN for New Line and Isaac Asimov's FOUNDATION trilogy for Fox. Shekhar Kapur is attached to direct the latter. ALL of this looks GREAT to me.

* Gore Verbinski is set to direct PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 2 for Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott are penning the sequel with Johnny Depp also reprising his starring role. Ladies try and control yourselves when you's see this, eh?

* Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman and Robert Duvall are set to star in BIT PLAYERS for Universal Pictures with Scott Rosenberg and Michael Lewis writing the script. Story is about a trio of men whose small town in the West is destroyed by a Wall Street crook who has swindled townsfolk out of their pensions. Hoffman is the duped owner of the bank that leaves the town high and dry. Hackman and Duvall will play two of those men who band with Hoffman and head to New York, where they hatch a scheme to get even. This one looks really good. Awesome cast and a good plot. What more could you ask for?

Karl Urban (THE TWO TOWERS) is in talks to play Matt Damon's nemesis in Universal Pictures' THE BOURNE SUPREMACY for director Paul Greengrass. I'm glad they're making more Bourne movies. S'good stuff.

* Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn are in talks to star in the New Line Cinema comedy THE WEDDING CRASHERS about two guys who have a hobby of crashing weddings in order to meet girls. While crashing a random nuptial, one of them unexpectedly falls in love. I love these guys. This will be a good one. Same goes for the next one.

* Brooke Burke has landed a cameo role in 20th Century Fox and Red Hour Films' UNTITLED DODGEBALL MOVIE, starring Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn, for writer/director Rawson Marshall Thurber. And who doesn't love Brook?

thats it for now. til i dig up more movie goodness...
