Malaise
Have you ever been sitting in your office, at home, at a meeting, or some other place and just wondered, "How did I get here? What did I do in life to bring me to this particular place?" Really, what governs the reprecussions of our actions? Is where we are now the place we thought we'd be 5 years ago? Personally, I can say no. I never fathomed that I'd be working at the job that I am, living where I am, or spending time with the people that I am. I'm so far off the track that I imagined I'd be on by the age that I am. Now, I'm not saying I think I've failed at anything; certainly I'm proud of my acheivements and I really regret no decisions that I've made. I guess I'm just asking if anyone else ever feels like their life is a dream. Like you're just swimming from problem to solution in a hazy blue mist, taking what comes your way, not getting too emotional about anything, trying to make the most of what you have. I think "Malaise" is the word that describes the above mentioned condition. Unfortunately, dictionary.com offered no way to overcome this malady.
