by This morning we were having a conversation in service about nudity and how in Europe it's more accepted. Anyway we started talking about how Adam & Eve were nude, but once they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good & bad, they realized they were naked & sowed fig leaves for clothing. Then Jehovah said that wasn't good enough, the clothes weren't modest, so He made long garments for them out of skin. So the first thing that Adam & Eve did with knowledge was WRONG, and indecent. I found that interesting. I'm pretty sure that could be found in Gen chap 3.

guys, c'mon. Don't you see? Adam and Eve were perfect, but they were without knowledge of good and bad. Therefore it wasn't beknownst to them that being naked was wrong. Jehovah would have eventually revealed it to them. See the tree held the knowledge of good and bad, but so does Jehovah, and the way they could prove their loyalty to Jehovah was by not eating from that tree....not to mention there were tons of other trees that were good for food. Therefore they sinned when they ate of the tree, because they stopped feeling the need to show loyalty to Jehovah, and felt they could independently could make decisions for themselves about right and wrong. The knowledge would have come anywhich way. Maybe one day Jehovah would have ordered them to eat from the tree. Even if he didn't, they could always ask, or Jehovah could slowly reveal what right and wrong was. Obviously today we know that being nude at all times is wrong, and even if we were brought back to perfection, we would by no means forget that nudity is wrong. Jehovah would reveal these and other matters so that we know what is absolutely right, and what is wrong. Does that make sense to everyone?

but seriously the point is that, yes they were naked but then, when they realized that they were, they put on clothes that were NOT good enuff, so they were scantily clad. But then again, Isaiah was scantily clothed and preaching.... thats kool, i didnt have anything to wear out inservice yesterday anyway.
I think since sin entered into the world they never looked at another naked body as beautiful, but they viewed it as someone they would like to have relations with. Thats probably why we are always clothed cause since we are imperfect we have the tendincy to view others in a sexual way more so then we would if it were for beauty. Yet, what does that mean when we are perfect..this comment just made things more confusing...DOH!
hm i dont think you really got what i was saying, i think giac kinda explained it about the sexual aspect but i dont think Jehovah would have made them eventually think it was wrong to be naked - it is our perfect form and if we had stayed perfect we would never have needed clothes - did that make sense?

it makes sense to me, but I don't agree. After adam and eve sinned, they knew that it was wrong for them to continue to be naked. Jehovah's standards haven't changed, he just had not yet revealed to them that it was wrong to be naked. They just didn't know. Jehovah would have eventually taught them. They didn't have to wear clothes because now they were imperfect, they made clothes when the learned that it was wrong for them to be continue to be naked at all times--and they learned it by eating from that tree. Perfection has nothing to do with their era of nakedness. Knowlege of good and bad has everything to do with their ending the era of nakedness.

I did some reasearch and found out why Adam and Eve were clothed, it wasnt any sinful tendency, it was that they felt guilty for sinning against Jehaovah and felt ashamed that when naked they are viewd upon as pure, but they arent that anymore, so for that reason they clothed themselves out of embaressement. AND since it was a married couple and had the world to themselves there was no reason for them to be clothed before that, YET if they had a kid or neighbors for that matter, for modesty sake they would be clothed.
this whole conversation has to end, because nobody actually knows what they are talking about. besides that, the whole thing is just getting annoying
