Spider Man

Well..I was reading some musings based on my new favorite movie..but the point was made that all of us who are so excited and chatty about it were ruining it for others. I personally enjoyed the film so much and feel bad for those sitting next to or behind me because I was bouncing up and down the whole time with excitement. That's just my way. Unlike usual, I had few complaints about the movie. While loving Kirsten Dunst, I don't think she plays a good Mary Jane. Yes, she did do very well in the movie and all, but she just isn't the way Mary Jane is supposed to be. Also, they're supposed to be college students, not High Schoolers, but it worked just fine. All in all I think it followed the original story well and I was wondering what everyone else thought.

liked it, loved it, will buy the dvd. ur right about kirsten...she just wasn't 'clicking' with tobey. william defoe was fantastic. i liked that the movie didn't take itself too seriously...it's a comic book character, and the story was very comic bookish.

i especially liked the way we (the audience) discovered spiderman's powers along with peter parker. the story was put together very well.

i look forward to the next two. tobey said he signed on for two more. it wouldn't bother me if they replaced kirsten.

I definetly agree about how they didn't take the movie too seriously. It was a movie but it still managed to keep the comic bookness and not turn into just another action film. I think that's what the batman movies lack.

web on! go web! shazam! hahaha

punkprincess punkprincessOG 2001 ·

that was one of the funniest parts, my mom was laughin at that...

delliott101 delliott101OG 2002 ·

I didn't expect him to say Shazam! The two DC Comics references were great (Captain Marvel [SHAZAM!] and the Superman reference)

I would give a nine and half. It followed the comic book a lot.I thought it was a lot better than what I thought it would be like. The only thing I didn't like was that they make you wait until summer 2003 (in the preview's) for the movie The Incredible Hulk. Even though that wasn't in the movie.

are you kidding? the last star wars was not just a dissapointment, it was one of the stupidest movies i've ever seen. i would rather watch "it's a mad mad mad mad world" over and over than be subjected to the utter nonsense of Star Wars Episode I

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002 ·

it wasn't that bad.. do you know what was that bad.. " THE ANIMAL" I admit the token black guy in that movie was hilarious.. that was the only funny part. Besides that the movie was a big MIKE. yea a big waste.

yeah..it was definetly not just a dissapointment but it now has me very nervous about the next one. I'm trying not to get excited because I don't want to be disapointed..but..I can't help watching the trailer over and over again on my computer and then jumping around the room for a while..so yeah.

goblin was the man! I never bothered to read the comics but he was portrayed awesome, my new favorite villian. William Dafoe was great as him specially with the split personality things!

i thought it was great! I also think that kirten dunst is a pretty good actor, but deffinitly not in this movie. i mean she was alright, she just didnt fit the cool mary jane. I wonder who would fit that part good??

delliott101 delliott101OG 2002 ·

I didn't thisnk she was... I think she's more of a reddish-brown... but she's bubbly and energetic enought and would have figured out Spidey and Peter are the same person right off the bat!

SPIDERMAN ROCKS...nuff said

punkprincess punkprincessOG 2001 ·

toby's stomach looks like rocks...ahhhh =)

whose isnt.

delliott101 delliott101OG 2002 ·

Read your post about the Spidey movie... actually, I believe Peter and the gang were originally high schoolers way back in Amazing Fantasy # 15-- the first appearance of old Web-Head. It's been years since I read the story, so I MIGHT be wrong, but I don't think so....

Kirsten Dunst was a great MJ, but she DID look a little old to be a high school senior, unless she stayed back a couple of times.

I think Spider-Man is the BEST super-hero comic book movie ever... better than the Batman and Superman movies, and I prefer DC over Marvel so tat says alot.

The slight changes made in Spider-Man, like the genetically engineered spider and the organic web-shooters, are welcome and logical and enhance Spidey greatly. Hey, if Stan "The Man" Lee gives it his stamp of approval, who am I to say other wise. 'nuff said! Carry on, true believers!

Excelsior!

PS Sorry, I caught caught up in the old Marvel "House of Ideas" mentality!
