The Good Old Days:

The buzzing of the alarm rings and it’s 9am… You get up refreshed… A great nights rest. Head towards the kitchen for some delicious Capn’ Crunch.. trying to scoop up only the delicious berries..
....Not a care in the world.
Plop right in front of the tv to enjoy to Garfield, maybe a little Mutant Ninja Turtles… and if time allows, and it always did back then, you’d get in some Darkwing duck ! and it’d be the good episode when he fights mega duck and the liquidator and the rest of the wack pack.

Anyway days aren’t like that anymore.. now you worry about bills, health insurance, investments, etc.etc.

What does getting old offer you … there’s really only two milestones.. Marriage/the blessings*

that come along with that and Alcohol. There’s nothing else really.. just more responsibility. When you were younger you didn’t know better.. so whatever you had was great. Just playing marbles in the dirt.. covering your eyes and then uncovering and yelling peekaboo… great stuff right there.. Now everythings got to be difficult.. you go out with friends.. and there’s always drama .. Someone’s got drama.. one thing or another.. you barely ever get a chance to just have fun like the old times.. boys always thinking about girls and their anatomy* and girls thinking about guys and problems.

I mean even an older persons gum has changed…. When was the last time you had bubbilicious in all it’s flavors and blew a big bubble.. now it’s winterfresh and big red, hoping your breathe smells good. No more NOW AND LATERS or JOLLY RANCHERS it’s altoids.. whats with that ? so I wish I was younger…. Sometimes.

What were your fondest memories, memories you wish you could re-live.. ?

I WAS PARTIALLY CENSORED , MY PREVIOUS VERSON WAS MUCH FUNNIER

Such a great story ty! being little not really caring what you look like, if you got mud on yer jeans, it was kool cuz it meant you were having fun! And the biggest problem was if you got picked to be "it" in tag (i always hated that cuz i could never catch anyone). We had the best time without "needing" to spend money...making up games, playing "little mermaid" in the pool, making up Plays & dances, and not caring whether you looked stupid or not...cuz it only mattered that you were having fun :) Good stuff ty!

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder

at least you got to stay little! :)

tpham tphamOG 2001

back in the day was hott stuff.. me and my reebok pumps and jordache jeans.. chillin' out.. i had the super man S curl in my hair.. i was the mack daddy of all 8 yr olds back then..i was a rebel back then.. i was a horrible child.. getting into trouble all the time.

but it was fun and worth it.. all the things i did back then make me the man i am today...

tpham tphamOG 2001

DO you all remember that game 7up .. or whatever.. you'd put your head dean and thumb up. .someone would come by and push your thumb down.. you knew that the girl or guy who pushed your thumb down was the person that liked you.. we need to get that game going.. then you'd have to guess who it was.. i'd always cheat and place my head near the end of the desk so i would see who's feet it was.. oh yea..

C
crazygirlOG 2001

hahaha. i would alwayscheat at that game! i loved that game. i guess cause i would always cheat and get to be one of those 7 people that got to put your thumb down. lol. those were the days...

rocksupastar rocksupastarFounder

Yea... i remember those days.. I always loved to play manhunt, or ride my bike for HOURS, climb trees, build tree forts, hockey in Peach Tree complex, fake fights, butts up!, rumbles, kickball, fridays after school, crushes... ahhhh.. so great... i miss it!

g.f.s.rocks g.f.s.rocksOG 2001

tpham tphamOG 2001

Another fond memory.. memeber when you'd go one a long trip with your parents and you're returning home.. you fall asleep in the car.. but you always wake up near the end.. but still pretend to stay alseep so that your parents have to carry you into the house... ahhh.. i loved that !

punkprincess punkprincessOG 2001

YES! i used to do the SAME Thing!!!!! ahahaha i loved that!!

punkprincess punkprincessOG 2001

another thing i loved doing was pretending to fall asleep when i was at someones house, so my parents would be like... oh we'll pick her up tomorrow, let her sleep. I did that like 50 times at the Duggan's house! aw good times :)

tpham tphamOG 2001

yea i never did that..

iwz iwz

yeah it's more like, pretend to fall asleep so you could hear people talk about you

g.f.s.rocks g.f.s.rocksOG 2001

Yeah, that was always fun, until you didnt like what they were saying...

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder

hahaha, we always tried this, i dont think it ever worked though. maybe once or twice. i just remember the trip home from my grandparents house, i would always fall asleep, i never wanted that trip to end

magnum magnumOG 2001

tpham tphamOG 2001

tesoro tesoroOG 2001

C
crazygirlOG 2001

rocksupastar rocksupastarFounder

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder

magnum magnumOG 2001

tpham tphamOG 2001

You know what i missed back then.. those PUMP reeboks.. i heard there are new ones.. but.. the old ones were just classic.. pump twice for a tight fit.. pump once for a nice fit..

tesoro tesoroOG 2001

i always wanted those and the light up sneakers...never got either though! :(

g.f.s.rocks g.f.s.rocksOG 2001

HAHAHAHA I had pumps!!!

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder

me too, i had the original "shaqs" they were the first sneakers i ever bought myself, i got them at marshalls, i was so happy when i found them cuz they were like 100 bucks in foot locker and my parents would never spend more than like 30 bucks on shoes

tpham tphamOG 2001

YEA YEA the LA GEAR light ups.. those rocked !

punkprincess punkprincessOG 2001

hahaha! i had a pair of those! Remember the dark tunnel in liberty science center? i had them in there, and everyone just followed me to find their way! haahahaha

tpham tphamOG 2001

i acutally went through that tunnel for the first time about 7 months ago.. it's not that hard.. you just go.. geez.. there's no need to follow anyone.

punkprincess punkprincessOG 2001

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder

actually he's not, as long as youre under 5 foot... JK TY!!

tpham tphamOG 2001

NBL

anyway there's no height restriction on that. you can be as tall as you want and go in there.. JACOB the fiance of JES went in there ! he's like 6'7 ...

magnum magnumOG 2001

tpham tphamOG 2001

rocksupastar rocksupastarFounder

i went in there a couple months ago.. with a buncha my friends from morristown and i was behind this girl rachel.. and she turned around i guess.. and i ran into her.. and then this girls voice came over the intercom system to tell us to stop making out or something.. it was sooo odd...

tpham tphamOG 2001

was it R. KELLY ?

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder

mike dont you mean you WERE making out in there? and NO it was not my sister.

legs legsFounder

The converse high tops were the best too!

tpham tphamOG 2001

Oh wait... one of the better memories was being the coolest patrol ever in elementary school.. I have my cool badge.. and what not. all the cool kids were patrols.. no one ever got in trouble it was great.

magnum magnumOG 2001

then you were the kids i hated and wanted to see get run over by cars

tpham tphamOG 2001

poor chum... it'll be alright. just don't shoot anyone. being a patrolled rocked. i got away with everything.. i can leave class and just sit in the hallway and do whatever .. it was such a power trip for 9 yr old

punkprincess punkprincessOG 2001

ohhhhhh i always wanted to be a patrol! One year, the teacher in charge said that i could be a patrol, and then this other girl named tina got to be, i was soooo mad cuz he just confused tinas! grr!

legs legsFounder

C
crazygirlOG 2001

tpham tphamOG 2001

LIne leader.. hahhaha oh snap.. that was hot stuff.. at the playground. .i was the man in charge . oh yeah

C
crazygirlOG 2001

hahaha, the man in charge! lol.

tpham tphamOG 2001

didn't anyone play marbles when they were younger.. the game where there were two holes.. you'd have to get down to one hole first and then go to the next whole where you get the license to kill and then knock other marbles out the game...! that was the best !

tpham tphamOG 2001

cartoons back then were so much better too.. now a days i just sit there dumbfounded at how stupid they are.

g.f.s.rocks g.f.s.rocksOG 2001

For some reason eating raisins and watching Mr. Rogers, not in that particular order, make me feel like a little kid again.

C
crazygirlOG 2001

hahahaha. i always loved o mr. rogers when they would show those videos on how they made things. i remember this one about making crayons. it was the coolest.

tpham tphamOG 2001

too bad he's retired.. or died or whatever.. but.. he seemed to be ageless .. he looks the same as i remember him looking back in 1984.. but the olsen twins don't look the same from the old full house.. to the newer full houses.. they ..like... grew...

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder

i heard mr rogers is gay (i think with the mailman). and did anybody ever get why he changed his sweater and shoes?

magnum magnumOG 2001
