Made It Safely to California!
Hi everyone!
I made it safely to California! I did the 2800 mile drive in 4 days and took tons of pictures that I will need to develop and scan. The countryside is beautiful and really shows the marvel of creation.
I hope everyone stays safe and sound and I'm ready to embark on a new phase of life with Trish and the kids here in sunny Cali! I'll be back to visit soon!
More later!
For all you Rita's addicts in NJ, I got Trish, as well as my sister and her family, hooked on Rita's. I've been a staunch Wild Black Cherry Gelati lover, but the night before I left NJ I had Citrus Blast. Oh so good.. too bad there are no Rita's here.. I may want to open a franchise. We'll see!
The trip here was pretty simple. Route 80 all the way. It's something I wanted to do since I was a kid, but not dragging a U-Haul trailer behind me. It was fun, though... I got to stay in Ohio the first night, Nebraska the second night and Utah (on the Utah/Nevada border, actually) the thrid night.
On the second and third nights, Trish checked on motels for the areas I was in over the net and came up with good finds. It saved me money and time looking. In Nebraska I stayed at a Red Roof Inn for $44.00. The room was normally $60.00, but she found a special rate for me!
Now is the fun part of unpacking stuff and setting it all up. I'm staying with her family till the wedding, whenever that will be! It'll be soon, but we're figuring out the date. Will let you all know when it happens!

glad you're safe man. there's always time for safety
That's the best thing you've ever said! I'm always going to say that: "There's always time for safety" and G.W. Bush's new saying I heard last night: "The intelligence I get his darn good"
i've noticed that you've used the phrase "darn good" multiple times today.
wait.. this is serious? or is this a joke...
Um... serious? I'm in California now....

Congratulations from the Porrino clan!!!
I love it how there are just so many of you that you're a whole clan..no longer just a family.

hahah. during germ season my house breeds the flu. once somebody gets it........ everyone gets it once and then it starts at the top again. i usually get it 2 times. strep throat is the worst though. i protect against it by eating salt'n'vinegar chips.
low immunity...what an attractive quality
Thanks... I miss you guys... I'm glad I made the special trip to say goodbye to you before my drive out here. Have a Rita's for me and Trish!
Hey Dave and Trish congratulations!! What a great place to go on a honeymoon! That's really nice!
wat did it say? i'm desparate...so i have to lower myself to meet someone online know them for a few months and marry them because i cant find someone in real life? hey, this isnt just my opinion, we had a talk in our KH about this subject. i just put it in my own words. if i offended, sorry.
wow. i don't know if that could have been any more rude if you tried. if your personal opinion is that bad, then don't share it.
not that i was asked, but i feel compelled to say 'mega-ditto'
issues!!!!
Split any pants lately, David?
woah. i don't know what this is about. let's keep it "g".
dirty mind, its G, its about expanding waistlines(that happens when ya get old!)
whatchu talkin bout willis
speaking of willis, we had a brother in our hall give a public talk who was the spitting image of Todd Bridges, the older bro who played Willis. I kept trying to explain that to my daughter who had NO idea what the show Diff'rent Strokes was...she kept saying Mom be quiet I'm trying too listen (not)!!
anyway what i'm talking bout is when ya get married ya get all these wonderful home cooked meals and men tend to put on alot of wieght....lol...except my husband b/c i don't coook anymore!(much)
