Next time the Jehovah's Witnesses appear at your door, you might want to see who their spokesman is before turning them away. A Jewish couple in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, received a shock on Oct. 5 when Prince showed up at their house to stump for the religious group, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. "Doorbell rings. My husband runs upstairs and says, 'Prince is at the door!'" remembers the resident, identified as Rochelle.
The petite "Purple Rain" pop star's timing could have been better: Yom Kippur was about to start and a Vikings game was on TV. After Rochelle's initial shock wore off, she had little patience for Prince's spiel. "I said, 'You know what? You've walked into a Jewish household, and this is not something I'm interested in.'" The artist formerly known as a freaky symbol reportedly responded, "Can I just finish?" Prince gave his testimonial for about 25 minutes and left a pamphlet. "He didn't do anything wrong," insists Rochelle. "He was very kind." Prince's attorney tells the New York Daily News that his client is "very committed" to the Jehovah's Witnesses.

i dont' want to be perceived as defending the media's practice of grossly misrepresenting us most of the time, but, that said...theirs a chance that (1) he was at the door for 25 minutes (which wouldn't be surprising with the householder's antics), or (2) they kept talking to him for 25 minutes because they just wanted to keep him there as long as possible. Because, most JW's couldn't come up with a 25 min. presentation if they wanted to. But I've stayed at doors that long with an interested person.
Our circuit overseer went on 3 studies with Prince. Prince converted his studio into a place to have memorial since their kingdom hall was so small, that is also where he was baptized because he didn't want the media to come, so it was a private baptism. I know this is a fact because Brother Christian(that's our co) saw this first hand.

That'd be really nerve-racking, saying exclamation point exclamation point exclamation point, every time you wanna refer to them. Not that I need to refer to them. a brother i know toured him at bethel and he also attended the memorial at the stanley theater. he is studying but he is not a witness. it's important to remember not to judge his heart condition. if you read about the material he put out a year or so ago for children it was loosely based on the truth. it would be hard to determine whether he's just doing this for PR or because he genuinely wants to serve Jehovah.

ha, That's too funny. The only reason I believe that he was baptized and they he is doing good, is because it came from my co. I never believed it until I heard brother christian tell me he went on 3 of his studies and verified it. But yah, he served in the circuit that the brother that was studying with prince was in. (did that make any sense at all?) He also said that if you saw "him" :) on the street, you would not recongnize(sp?) him because he has changed so much. We'll see i guess..right?
Yeah the whole thing is just shady to me. How I feel is that...if he came into the truth, than great. Especially since we all have seen, to one degree or another, how the truth can affect a person. When i first heard that he was studying, i didn't believe it at all. but like you said weirder things have happened. This one sister in my hall is trying to convince me that brothers have been witnessing to the pope over the last year and he talks with them....If i hear it from the society or someone else that reputable, like the brother who actually talked to him and has photos to prove it, i'll believe it...but isn't that funny?

well, #1, this review is the oppinion of the reveiwer, so, what he takes from it might not at all be what prince intended...Plus, if there are unspiritual messages on this album, it could be that it was created and released before he took to the truth fully...never know

I remember when I was little I would place magazines cuz I was cute. So I guess if you are a little kid or Prince it's all good. But what name does he put on his time slip? Does he write "Prince" on the publisher line?
