flomojopoanode Dec 2, 2003

lol, I really hope he does that!

downwithoppeter Dec 2, 2003

i'm all over that like beef flavoring on ramen noodles.

bizarret Dec 2, 2003

pronounced "RAH'-men"...

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

YES!

bizarret bizarretOG 2003

That was sarcasm for all you PA weirdos...
It's pronounced "RAY-men"!!!

D
dgiaimoOG 2003

No. It's definitely pronounced rah-men. (Ask anyone who speaks Japanese.)

bizarret bizarretOG 2003

wow, you speak Japanese??!!!

D
dgiaimoOG 2003

Not really. I took a couple of years of it in college recently, but I'm rapidly forgetting it.

bizarret bizarretOG 2003

My uncle through marriage is japanese, born and raised. i JUST called him. he said that in many dialects they say Ray-men, whereas others say rah-men. and they are both widely accepted...

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

Well, my Aunt is Japanese and she said it's always Rah-men.

bizarret bizarretOG 2003

hmm... ::(thinking) "I too have an aunt..." ::

touché linz... touché.

flomojopoanode flomojopoanodeFounder

lol, that was SO perfect, t-baz!!!! "I too have an aunt...touche salesmen, touche" So funny I'm about to... UH! OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

legs legsFounder

just like you have the same kitchen appliances that i do! (and not to mention the little duck salt shakers...)

D
dgiaimoOG 2003

Really? That's quite surprising. I don't think I've ever heard a Japanese speaker pronounce 'ra' that way. Did he mention which dialects pronounce it that way? I don't doubt that he knows more about this than I, but in the standard Tokyo dialect it's definitely pronounced rah-men.

bizarret bizarretOG 2003

well he's from tokyo, at least right outside...

he said that they do say both, but in the hood they say ray-men.

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 redundant

Why was this labelled stupid?

bizarret bizarretOG 2003

I would have labeled it "LET IT GO!!!"

iwz iwz

because rock supastar's an idiot. haha. fixed!

downwithoppeter downwithoppeterOG 2003

sounds like a scandelous mail order bride ordeal...

T
toxicgirlOG 2003

Yeah, anybody born and bred in PA knows that. pshh.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

YES!!!! a while back i was scorned and ridiculed for saying it RA-MEN! and now i have a partner in the ongoing fight to protect all RA-MEN folk!

D
dgiaimoOG 2003

You said it brotha. We gotta stick together in the fight against the "ray-men" people. Solidarity, yo.

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003

its not that serious...

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

Oh..but it is..it is!

Back to the issue at hand.
FiN!
Are you all coming? Jeez, i hope we don't get snowed in!
Everyone better come anyway. We're still playing...

flomojopoanode flomojopoanodeFounder bizarret

we are only supposed to get around 2-4 inches on Friday--that's not bad enough to stop our most local friends, right?!

Fin!

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 flomojopoanode

im coming anyway boo yea!

ALRIGHT! That makes about 5 of us going--no matter what.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 forrestina

And I said if Forreste is going so am I...cause she's hott.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 thatdarngirl

awww yeah baby want me to pick you up on my way?

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 forrestina

Mmm..I donno I was gonna ask if you just wanted to come here first so I can show you some back ways so you're not sitting on Route 80 for a very long time.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 thatdarngirl

sure whatever works for you. i get out at 5:30 and i'll head to your place.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 forrestina

That should totally work! I have almost mastered avoiding traffic on friday nights on Route 80 from 1+ year driving to the ledgewood-byram-andover area. I'm just a bit worried about the snow thing.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 thatdarngirl

woo hoo...i get off by franklin? was that the name of it?

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 forrestina

Franklin Road..unless you're gonna take 80 then it's the Denville exit.

jp jpOG 2003 thatdarngirl

lotsa snow on the ground and roads arent too stellar, is it still on?

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 jp

That's what I'm wondering. It was ok for a little while but it just started to snow hard again.

ophelia opheliaOG 2003 thatdarngirl

bryam is wayyy to close to my name - this simularity has caused much confusion..a lot of people who ask folks off the street how to get to bryam, are ending up @ my house, because the direction giver thought the person said "bryan"...& then it's MY job to redirect the idiots...sheesh...

ballyhoo ballyhooOG 2001 ophelia

maybe if youre name was byran it would be confusing.

ophelia opheliaOG 2003 ballyhoo

ummm...my name IS bryan

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ophelia

But it's not Byran.

ballyhoo ballyhooOG 2001 dgiaimo

thank you kindly.

thank YOU reluctantly

me and my pal throw that back and forth between hysterical laughing fits. i know you know exactly what ominous bleeps i'm talking about! when he's first roaming around Dagobah and you can see in his lil blue lit visual receptor that he's scared.
