Rain Rain

iwz by iwz · Aug 29, 2006 · 6,107 views

I hope it stops raining soon, this is getting old. It's supposed to be nice for the next few days, but then I have a feeling next week is going to be crappy with that tropical storm/hurricane on its way up here.

In other news, my brother gets married on monday!

so during down time at a wedding I photography myself. lol. just kidding, hah i really liked the mirror and thought it be a cool idea.

flomojopoanode #103.1 flomojopoanodeFounder

this is so cool! I love how the flash wasn't captured in the first mirror, but in the imagme of the mirror behind you. It almost felt like it had bounced several times, before being caught on film.

specialk #102 specialkOG 2003

It's almost 2am here in AZ, and I can't sleep. A combination of stress, insomnia, and sugar high. It's almost 5 am on the east coast....maybe I should go to bed now.

specialk #101 specialkOG 2003

Hey, can someone explain to me how to play Manhunt? You can EZ message it to me if you want.

specialk #100 specialkOG 2003

Today didn't totally suck. I actually have been getting sick over the course of the past week, and it hit me last night....hard. I got the body aches, shivers then hot, and my throat was on fire. I woke up this morning feeling the same, minus the body aches. I SOOOOO didn't want to go out in service, especially because Adam, under the impression I was not feeling well enough to go out, let me sleep until 8, which is a lot later than I should have. SO I woke up late, feeling crummy. And promptly went out into the living room and said to Adam,
"I'm planning on going out in service this morning, so you might want to iron a shirt or something."

That's my "being nice" when I'm sick, hahahah. It was good though....the boys came out in service with me, and we had a good morning. Only 43 hours left!!!! Then we had a couple over from the hall, and had a good time. It's nice to get to know new friends. I like it here. :)

This weekends weddings are gunna suck if it doesn't break at all.I HOPE it breaks EVEN for 15 minutes ATLEAST.

Oh well

today kind of reminds me how my wedding day was, It was pretty much a tornado watch day also.

specialk #97 specialkOG 2003

So, someone out here in our hall that I know, got reinstated last night. I hadn't seen or talked to them in almost 2 years, so it was good to see they were doing well. And Tyler was happy too. He got to talk to him, and Tyler told him he missed him. Apparently this almost made the person cry.
I love how kids can be so innocent, so loving, not hood grudges, and just love their friends and family. I sometimes wish I were like that.

specialk #96 specialkOG 2003

I am so bored.....and exhausted. I just spent 4 hours with my sister in laws, watching a bunch of guys talk about football. Ugh.

M
#96.1 monsterEst. 2006

Oh, how quickly your stesses have changed.

I am stoked about all your good news this week! Especially the aux. pio! Remember you have to let us do research and stuff if you have an interesting call, or need info stat, that way we can feel a part, and contribute to your expanded service!

specialk #96.1.1 specialkOG 2003

Hahaha....yeah, the stress is VERY minimal now. It could have been worse....they could have been WATCHING football, hahaha. At least the girls and I got to sit in the kitchen and gab while we ate pizza and made cookies. Good times.

Yeah, I'm very excited. My sister in law, Leah, was kind of part of what motivated me to do it this month. She's a regular pioneer, and we were out in service today from 8 to 2, and I've always loved working with her in service. I don't know why, but she's a huge encouragement to me. Anyways, she was trying to help me decide if I should accept the Mayo job, and we weighed the pros and cons, and once I decided to take it, she mentioned aux pioneering this month, which I hadn't really even thought about. She even said she'd help me with a schedule, and that if I worked with her and stayed on the schedule she does, I'd have well over 50 hours by the end of the month.
This is why I love it here.....such great encouragement.

specialk #95 specialkOG 2003

So Ezabel, I have TWO big important facets of news.

Numero Uno....I GOTS ME A JOB!!!!!
Not the restaurant one, because they didn't call back in time. It's working for the local Mayo Clinic. Good hours, good pay, and SOOOO close to where we live. Unfortunately, they don't have another training class until the 25th of this month, which means I have another 3 or 4 weeks of free time. Which leads me to good news facet #2....

Numero Dos.....I'M AUXILIARY PIONEERING THIS MONTH!!!!
I went out in service today for 5 hours, and during the course of the day, decided that's what I would do with my free time. What better way to spend my next 3 weeks off, right?

That's all my big news....for now.

D

juicymango #91 juicymangoOG 2003

so who caught the VMA's last night?

anything good?

any highlights worth watching on youtube?

fivezero #91.1 fivezeroOG 2003

not a lot. MAYBE jack white's band playing with lou reed and that gibbon dude from zz top. that was awesome. also some of the design things were pretty cool. DESIGN-WISE, beyonce's performace was awesome.

socalgal #91.2 socalgalOG 2003

i did....fergie was HOT on the pre show. shakira was double hot cause she is hot and she was wearing my fav color. beyonce....gorgeous. Um jack black was funny....sarah silverman, was a waste of camera. OHHHH i really liked Justin Timberlake dancing...that boy has some moves!

juicymango #91.2.1 juicymangoOG 2003

i don't like fergie but i approve of her trying to bring "oh snap" back

juicymango #91.3 juicymangoOG 2003

beyonce's performance

btw I really like her new stuff, and I have always disliked everything and anything about Beyonce

she is getting a lot of flack for Ring the Alarm but I LOVE it!!!

tesoro #91.4 tesoroOG 2001

Lots of good stuff on the VMA's, i really enjoyed it...jack black sucked as a host, he was not funny at all. Great performances: justin timberlake, beyonce, OK GO (i can't believe they performed) panic at the disco, the all american rejects.

and i was suuuuuuuuuuper happy that AFI won the award for best rock video! i love them, and i love that song.

also, really happy about Panic winning video of the year...good stuff!

They underestimated us by over 3,000 pounds, and now say it's our fault because we apparently took more than we originally said we would. (Which is not true, because we had TWO garage sales, and sold our dining room table and chairs, Tyler's bed, AND our 55 inch widescreen TV, in order to keep the weight down....ridiculous.

D
dgiaimoOG 2003

We had a moving company move all our stuff. The entire move was paid for by my dad's company since they moved the entire company, and most of the senior staff from Burlington, MA to San Diego, CA. So, we didn't really have much to worry about as far as the moving expenses. Selling our old house was fairly worrisome, though. I think we closed escrow the day the company was going to stop paying for temporary housing.

That sucks that they're being like that. How did they mis-estimate the weight by that much in the first place?

specialk specialkOG 2003

Well, the company is called Brendamour, and they deal with Mayflower. The guys that came out to load our stuff actually told us that the company's nickname is "Bend Over More", for obvious reasons. Apparently the purposely underestimate, and don't lock the estimate into a definite price, so that when it comes back as more, the customer gets screwed.
Adam has been emailing the owner back and forth, and the guy is freaking out because Adam has let him know about the disappointment, and that the customer survey he takes will reflect that. Apparently it greatly impacts their business.

You know, you're not really a conversational gem yourself, bucko.

web-toedchloe #59 web-toedchloeOG 2001

I just called a record store in town that claims to be "punk" and asked if they had a new release. The girl said they didn't, and I asked if they carry any albums from Dischord, and she said "Uh, uh, Dischord? I don't know. Is that a company?" I have to get out of this town.

rocksupastar #59.1 rocksupastarFounder

um... you live in PA... lol what do you expect?

tesoro #59.1.1 tesoroOG 2001

Actually it's the exact opposite near me, EVERYONE is into punk, I actually don't like it, it's too trendy. But stil, a lot of my stuff is still underground. haha

I have news for you, the whole state of NJ, isn't the healthiest place on Earth.

web-toedchloe #56 web-toedchloeOG 2001

Opinion: I know you're not allowed to bring liquids on to planes right now, and I guess I've made my peace with that. But what if you want to bring those little containers of extra contact lenses in the solution? Do you think that would cause a problem? Maybe it would be ok if I brought copies of the prescriptions from my eye doctor...

specialk #56.1 specialkOG 2003

I don't think that would be an issue, mainly because they are already sealed....you might want to call the airline just to be sure though.

forrestina #56.2 forrestinaOG 2002

I'd be careful. They threw my mom's away and also her lipstick. They don't even want you bringing chapstick on board now.

web-toedchloe #56.2.1 web-toedchloeOG 2001

Ugh. Maybe I'll bring the prescription and an emergency pair of glasses just in case. Although I don't have an emergency pair of glasses. Huh. God, when I planned this trip, there were no restrictions! This system sucks.

specialk #56.2.1.1 specialkOG 2003

Can't you just pack them in your makeup case in your checked luggage, and pack your glasses in your carry-on? That way it won't go through the machine when you go through security.

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001

I don't even think you can check liquids. The disclaimer on the delta site says nothing liquid can "pass through security" and everything checked would fit that criteria, right? I'm going to check them and put them in my regular clear toiletry bag. I don't want to hide them, cuz that might seem suspicious, but I don't want to put them right on top either. Such a hassle. And now I have to schedule an appointment with my optometrist to GET a pair of glasses. I haven't had any since I was like 16.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

best idea is to ship them ahead of you if you can.

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001

Hmmm, very interesting. Do you think they'll go through our checked bags?

M
monsterEst. 2006

As I have seen, they only do this with flagged bags, either some thing seen on the scan or YOU have been flagged. But this is anecdotal and nothing I have found in writing. So YMMV.

specialk specialkOG 2003

Rarrely do they do the random check....unless your me....in which case, they go through your bags, on your flight to your HONEYMOON, taking ALL your goods out for the world to see. Nice.

specialk #55 specialkOG 2003

THIS is why I can sometimes watch Tyler's cartoons with him....for guys like this....hahahah!
