I haven't seen Theremin on all week. Did we make him go into a poetic fit of rage where he killed himself with a guitar pick? hahahahaha.... I'm mean...

fivezero #45.1 fivezeroOG 2003

he's loading a .50 caliber sniper rifle with a large bullet that reads "big red" on the casing.

Here's the real scoop behind this mornings emotional outburst. Apparently --to some-- a slave bracelet/handflower/harem bracelet in punk rock/goth fashion, unbeknowst to me resembles a pair of skivies...still not sure how LOL!

That's so fab! I don't know if I should get the one that I want or try and improvise something more ellaborate. The goth/rockers back in school used to make some awesome stuff, from scratch.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 originalsnob

originalsnob originalsnobOG 2004 socalgal

A friend of mine is having a theme party. All of the sudden theme parties are all over the place NJ, PA, MD I'm not heavy on the scene like some others but a whole wave of them hit starting last weekend. Go figure.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 originalsnob

yeah....pink hair doesnt mean 80's. LOL

originalsnob originalsnobOG 2004 socalgal

That wasn't really my take on the 80's either, I just wanted to do it
I did more 80's fusion Jersey Girl meets Blondie/Debbie Harry meets Gem lol!
A LOT of sisters did rock the colored hair though, most of them were 30+ so I guess they were just flashing back to their own glory days =D

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 originalsnob

im 36....was every style you can imagine and unless you were punk....pink hair was not worn. lol hmm, wait, MAYBE if they were new wave.

originalsnob originalsnobOG 2004 socalgal

That's soooo weird it was all over the party, go figure.
It was a blast anyhow my friend who hosted the party went as Robert Smith, it was hot! There was also a sister who dressed as, Boy George, it was very disturbing...she looked JUST LIKE HIM.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 originalsnob

maybe its an east coast thing but it def wasnt like that unless you were punk.

This morning, I was watching Good Morning America (with Matt Lauer, right?) and they had Tina Fey on ... but there was a woman from some kind of financial place, saying how much Americans have in credit card debt, because they don't use credit cards as "emergency funding" but really use them for stuff they just can't afford at the moment.

Got me thinking how much I do that. My credit card isn't high at all, but I still do that.

socalgal #41.1 socalgalOG 2003

oh i TOTALLY used to do that. i had like $50K in CC debt. TOTALLY paid off tho....thank goodness...but yeah...it happens.

Anyone been watching Clone Wars on the Cartoon Network? I've been recording them and I watched a few episodes over the past couple of days. I like the storyline of seeing what the clone wars were about, some of the battles, seeing Anakin with a Padawan is interesting (although, the Padawan calls him "master", however in Revenge of the Sith Yoda tells Anakin he's on the council but not a master).

My main disappointment is that we don't get the Cartoon network in HD (that I'm aware) and I really wish we did. Does anyone else get it in HD?

B

Actually Mace said that, not Yoda.

When it first came on it was in the background and i was like is that star wars it sounds like star wars, and then when i peaked my head around the corner to see it was clone wars, and i was like Huh, and giggled. Buuuttt i could not stop watching it.

originalsnob #20 originalsnobOG 2004

Last night in service there were about five of us, two were full time pioneers/students that really needed time. We were out a little later than usual and hit a few extra places. On two occasions that I spoke with people I didn't place anything because neither spoke or read English well. On the positive side in both instances the prospect of information in their own languages was welcomed.

The last gentleman was familiar with the Watchtower and Awake magazines and said he believes that the information published within is unlike any from secular sources and much more beneficial...of course he's so right!
The same man said that he always read the literature in his country but that since he's been here friends greet him on the street, place things, promise to follow up, and NEVER do =(
So I had a party with yellow slips. Hopefully THIS TIME the interest will be followed up on appropriately =D

forrestina #20.1 forrestinaOG 2002

There is only one other person in my congregation who uses the S-40 and it's our PO's wife. She and I have both had them sent back to us from Bethel asking us to "do our best."

originalsnob #20.1.1 originalsnobOG 2004

=(

Well, I sort of anticipated a window between now and the actual follow up time so... although neither of the two calls are in my congregations territorry I do have one friend that is in the Arabic group (which has a pretty extensive territorry) she can have a brother from there call back on the first gentleman.
As for the second person, a girlfriend of mine is in one of the Spanish congregations over in the town where the second gentleman is from since he only works in the town that we contacted him in. I'm definitely going to do my best, my grandmother said she had a slip bounce back also so we'll see what happens * LIVY'S OPTIMISTIC SMILE/FACE*

superhero #18.2.1 superheroOG 2004

Not too much purchased. One item I did buy was a pair of Bluetooth Wireless headphones from Philips - I think they were $20, I used them at the gym with my ipod. I could leave my ipod on the treadmill and run without worrying about the wire - it was great. Then one day they broke - I RMA'd them to Philips last month and they sent me a replacement pair that's like $130. They're wonderful.

i know i was SOOOO mad when i heard it. they were talking about it on the station i listen to and are trying to get in touch with one of the guys from the beastie boys about it.

i almost threw up when i heard it

i hate country folk

theremin thereminOG 2002

but this isn't country folk (*see footnote), this is crap that thinks it can commercialise so called "alt-country" or "country rock" or whatever they call it these days.

*try Mojave 3, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, and My Morning Jacket (bigger fan of the first 2, than the latter 3rd).

And, maybe you won't like those at all either...but at least they're not this Big & Rich crap.

I have the #3 assignment tonight with a 12-13 year old girl. I didn't want to do the typical horoscope-zodiac chart subject so we're talking about fortune cookies.

originalsnob #11.1 originalsnobOG 2004

That's a cool spin on it...preview?

forrestina #11.1.1 forrestinaOG 2002

It's a stretch, but I tie it together...From Wikipedia: Although fortune cookies are undoubtedly a modern invention, a legend has been developed and circulated to explain their origins. According to this legend, in the 14th century, when the Mongols ruled China, a revolutionary named Chu Yuan Chang planned an uprising against them. He used mooncakes to pass along the date of the uprising to the Chinese by replacing the yolk in the center of the mooncake with the message written on rice paper. The Mongols did not care for the yolks, so the plan went on successfully and the Ming Dynasty began. It is claimed that the Moon Festival celebrates this with the tradition of giving mooncakes with messages inside. Immigrant Chinese railroad workers, without the ingredients to make regular mooncakes, made biscuits instead. It is these biscuits that may have later inspired fortune cookies.

forrestina #11.4.1 forrestinaOG 2002

aw man don't say that! we have more than one person like that in our congregation and they drive all the parents crazy.

originalsnob #10 originalsnobOG 2004

I don't remember what I ate before bed but I had the most bizare dream ever like EVER EVER.

The above having been said here goes:

I went to a high school reunion and saw some old aquaintances. For some reason the reunion was held in a field. At some point this guy takes me by the hand and leads me to this float, like a parade float made of straw.
Turns out the general idea was to sacrifice the "most innocent" remaining female of the class to the captain of the football team.

WOW

iwz #10.1 iwz

The group that invited me lives a while away so I'll be making my own group and meeting up. I've never been to the falls but, hear it's AMAZING and really want to go. Please go with me I don't want to take the trip alone!

Hit me up if you're in!

Anyone into 24 anymore? November 23rd is the 2hr prequel to this season (which starts in January).

superhero #4.1 superheroOG 2004

i'm still into it. i think all my friends have mostly lost interest. I don't think I can schedule things to DVR more than 3 weeks out but I'll check into this right now.

I might make a list to anger my friends

10 reasons 24 is better than Lost with it's ridiculous unexplained plot lines

superhero #4.1.1 superheroOG 2004

nope, it's still too early. argh. i can't wait for this. i seriously cannot wait.

my upcoming list of exciting watching:

Madacasgar 2 - Escape from Africa
24

hmm another short list.

has anyone ever noticed how much i love lists? I used to like this girl that would tell me how obsessed i was with lists, and i always thought she was crazy, but lately i've realized she's right.

The other day i was thinking i should send my mom a list of my top 5 best memories of things she did for me growing up ... yeah i really can't stop.

thefunkyfresh #4.2 thefunkyfreshFounder

i'll watch it this year. What is the prequel though? a recap of last season or new stuff?

flomojopoanode #3 flomojopoanodeFounder
