Page 4 of 8Oh yeah. Almost forgot. I got an interview with Aflac, that'd be kewl "Workin for the duck" lol :o)
my husband used to work for Aflac. If you need some advice or someones opinion about it feel free to ask him. garrettbhayes@yahoo.com. :)
Very cool. Thanks a lot ;)
Just wanted to say thanks again! Garrett was actually very helpful.
Aflac, not the best fit for me.
:o)
i feel so bad for these guys...
yeah, this is terrible.
Wondering if anyone knows any quick acting home remedies for cold/flu-like symptoms??? I've done fairly well most of this winter and then Friday night BAM! I sound like I swallowed a frog, head + sinus congestion, and body aches...I need to get in working order by Friday night...My friend's wedding rehearsal then Saturday is THE BIG DAY :o(
Remedies??? Doesn't have to cure me 100%, maybe just kick me back into gear.
lots of sleep, ease up on all unnecessary activities. people swear by all kind of stuff, i drink tea and lemon water and take vitamin c if i remember. i get better super fast though, don't go by me.
Very choice recommendations. As for unnecessary activities, I ended up driving ALL day (first day out in 4 days). One town to file out medical paper work then drove all the way to my Dr. in Dover only to find that as a new patient they couldn't see me until tomorrow which they neglected to tell me ON THE PHONE. BAH! So I grocery shopped in Rockaway, bought generic nyquil. Tea was actually very helpful :o)
2 of my sisters and a bunch of my co-workers took tylenol cold and flu and were feeling better w/in days. and a few also put the vicks rub on the bottom of their feet overnight to help with their cough.
I just got back from my Doc. Basically he confirmed what I suspected, it's the flu. It's letting up but I got a prescription for the lingering affects.
Vicks rub on the feet? That's really interesting, I bet it works, I'll keep it in mind for my next bout. Bootleg Nyquil won this round.
Thanks Dan! Thanks G!
back from chicago! it was great but way too cold, i wanna go back during the summer. for two days or so it was like 50 degrees and it waas so much more enjoyable than the 18 degree days
oh and also, I HATE FLYING
kthxbai
this song is called "minus" by joey cape's side project band, bad astronaut. it's really good.
For those of you wondering who Joey Cape is, he's the singer of Lagwagon
i liked it
No Doubt presale starts today!! WHOOOHOOO!
So ian, what did jew do last night?

i think you raised my expectations too much for that
super lame paper airplane video. not worth your time, unless your time is worth nothing. don't bother clicking. too egotistical.
http://www.veryshortlist.com/vsl/daily.cfm/review/983/Web_video/new-york-paper-airplane/?vp
much better, that time i was pretty impressed!
very cool
So, I found a program (well it was posted on Lifehacker) that goes through your entire iTunes collection and adds lyrics. I installed it and it's flying through my 40GB collection. It's REALLY good (although not perfect), and it doesn't seem to handle acoustic/live tracks, even if they have the same title, and it's can't figure out that "the Beatles" are the same as "Beatles".
Overall, highly recommended.
hmm. it also seems to have trouble with songs including parentheses or apostrophes.
in the end, i'd say it got about 70 - 80% of my songs. which isn't bad. i have learned a lot of lyrics in the past few days, it's really entertaining to watch/read while listening to some of my favorite songs.
I don't know if I've ever talked about this, but Lauren and I listen to music very differently. I don't hear lyrics, I hear sounds. the lyrics just sound like strung together sounds to me. Lauren like, analyzes lyrics, thinks about them, and draws conclusions. I mostly listen to the beat, the flow of the words and the sounds they create, and nothing else. It's odd that we like any of the same music at all.
so uh, my point to that rant was that i've learned a lot of lyrics in the past two days. haha. i said that already.
i'm the same as you. i can't really sing along to more than a bunch of songs, and even then i don't know a lot of the verses.
i would completely fail as a lead singer in a band.
I feel like I came back from the dead. I had pneumonia right after I had strep and bronchitis. It's going to be really interesting trying to make my time this year.
any new bands you guys have been listening to lately? i've been discovering some new music lately, which is good, b/c i've been stuck in a rut for a while.
the Break and Repair Method
the Fratellis
the Hold Steady
the Kooks
the Gaslight Anthem
Most of this is due to RXP, that Matt Pinfield is pretty interesting
i need to check these out. i have not listened to any new music in FOREVER... i've basically gone back to the beginning, i've been listening to the beastie boys for the last 2 weeks.
I know some people who know the guys in gaslight anthem personally. what does that mean for you? absolutely nothing. But they might play a girl in my congregation's graduation party.. But right now they are touring europe or something.
haha, if that works out, definitely score me an invite, b/c Lauren loves them. they have one song that i like, but it sounds exactly like "dancing in the dark" by bruce springsteen.
*the rest of this post has been edited to reflect the opinions of Matt Kelly*
yeah, i kinda wish you hadn't... :/
ooh ooh, what'd i miss
i guess you don't get snapshots of the site over time, or see things before they're edited!
not so powerful now, are you!
haha... you shouldn't have edited it, it was actually really funny
haha yeah i know
as much as i don't like tracy morgan that much, i think 30 rock may be the best comedy show on tv right now. if you don't know this show that well, watch the full episodes that are up on hulu.com, I think you'll like it.
there's no way it's better than it's always sunny in philadelphia.
i have seen one epsiode of this that was pretty weird
i say that there's no way it's better than How I Met Your Mother
NPH FTW!!
yeah you're probably right about that... but what's annoying about always sunny is that there's only like 15 episodes each season. 30 rock is almost, if not just as funny
30rock and It's Always Sunny are the only comedies I watch and they are both killer funny. hard to say which is better.
i still watch the office and scrubs. i like both, but neither are consistently funny
scrubs wore on me. i watched the first 3 seasons on dvd over a couple months and it was funny, but it got old. but when it was funny, it was REALLLLY funny. i'll admit that. i still haven't seen much of the Office. i'll catch up at some point.
I had to take car of business around my old stomping grounds yesterday.
I found THE BEST hill for running. It should be pretty intense for building my resistance :oD
'care'
A new movie... I can't figure out how to get the movies I upload to youtube to look good consistently though. If anyone has any advice I'd be interested to know.
Talent Agency Meeting:
very funny and well edited. you and alex are good, but and that other dude is just plain hysterical. the "jackie robinson" & "color of jealousy" stuff kills. and "how much money, like monetarily speaking" was great too. and for a second i though it could've been shorter, but nah, not really. good job. how many cameras did you use?
thanks man. it was really supposed to be like 4 or 5 scenes, but we didn't get around to the other scenes. i think it's decent on it's own, but maybe we'll still do it. I was trying to cut this scene down, which I actually did quite a bit already, but it's so hard to cut stuff out once you get attached to it.
we actually had 3 cameras for that one cuz we shot it at the college I work at and they had 2, which was cool. the only thing was synching up the audio. I got it decent in final cut, but when I exported it in some places it's not quite right.
Thanks tho. I have some more ideas i wanna do soon
WOW flurries. Of what benefit is snow to me if I'm too broke to go boarding???? I hope it doesn't last or stick, I'm having company Friday from outta state :o(
There's something about the money that I could be saving with Gieco; it's A LOT like me... if I were a stack of crisp freshly printed money with blue bands for lips and huge googly eyes.
Apparently I'm HOT
are you high? lol
and apparently the answer to BV's question is YES
Riiiiight. Because I frequently indulge in the use of illegal substances.
Sorry to disappoint Moses + BV BUT I was just having a silly moment.
TMICBSWG, is one of the few things that makes me really laugh, I appreciate the concept.
I hated her character on Heroes, but I really like her actual personality. Kristen Bell, everyone: http://www.martin-boose.de/kristen-bell-bei-craig-ferguson/
I agree. Kristen seems sweet and a little quirky, def like she'd be very down to earth one on one. I was a big Veronica Mars fan back in the day, she's a cutie with great talent!
Goodbyes make me sad. I STRONGLY disagree with the old sentiment, It's not goodbye, it's just until I see you again. I do agree that Good friends are like stars you don't always see them but, you know they are there.--EXCEPT WHEN THEY MOVE OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY THEN THEY REALLY AREN'T THERE
:o(
:(
so can you tell us who it is yet?
don't tell me this all over that kid jordan, lol
BOOO YOU! Jordan might NOT even be leaving but, another friend IS for def this Friday. *SIGH* I am in my fluffy socks and flannel robe baking away my sorrows and about to watch Lifetime then call PA :o(
PS "that kid"??? Doesn't he roll heavy w/ you and your kkb's? Wuteves.
mehhh. kinda.
yo Gina! what are you doing over there!?!
im stressing and ready to kick people. why whats up?
nothin, i was just saying hi b/c i'm terrible at keeping in touch
me and lauren keep kickin around the idea of moving somewhere with no computers, no jobs, and you can live on $5/day, and the water is warm for surfing. where is that place?
i just met my boss's bollywood actress niece... NOT IMPRESSED! hahaha
haha! did she do some sweet singing and dancing?
I THINK THAT TO!!!! Whatever we're CONSTANTLY on the same exact page lol :oP
You just put me in the mood to watch Bride + Prejudice
nah, yo. REAL bollywood chicks have unibrows and lumpy bods.
in her defense, she was pretty cute. but not my type.
Jimmy Eat World is practicing for their upcoming tour right now, live: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/jimmy-eat-world-live

last one, i promise....
JP killed this one
A few more videos on the way...
Us playing our original song "a new rope" last month

oh well im disappointed but i hope you get it. maybe from there you can move on to Ocean County Superior Court

anybody have the WT library zipped up? I'm trying to write a talk but I don't have it on my new computer
ez msg'd!
thanks buddy
anyone using it for the PDA? how do you like it?
I've been using it a little but I like the iSilo version better, mostly b/c it works on my iPod Touch and it's easy on the eyes.
any way to get these to run on a blackberry? or is there other software available?
yeah, iSilo is a document reader, it's for BB and pretty much every other smart device.
do u know if there's a special way to install it then? I tried running the exe and the pdb files and it wouldn't recognize them
install ... what? need more info. feel free to call/text me.
i think it works like this.. (although i've never done it myself)
1. install iSilo onto your mobile device http://www.isilo.com/
2. get the iSilo version of Watchtower Library, and copy it to your device
i got it to work, but some of them are coming up as jibberish. i'll play with it later. thanks guys
I'm trying to cook this Swiss potato thing and it looks NOTHING like it's supposed to. BOOOO Roschti!!! :o(
Jimmy Eat World will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its classic Clarity by playing the album in its entirety for 10 one-time-only shows beginning February 23 in New York City and concluding March 7 in the band's native Arizona.
terminal 5 sold out in 30 minutes :( :( :(
this might have been an important thing to mention sooner!!!
one time, my friend James Johnson and I went to see them in the city on a random Wednesday night. No joke, I think there were 15 people there who wanted to see them. The rest of the crowd stayed at the bar the whole time. I felt kind of bad for them, really. It was a fun show though, because of the emptiness.
10 one time only shows?
can't you do a one time only show only once?
matt, it clearly says 10 one-time-only shows. that's completely different.
ahh the hyphen changes everything... my bad
It is extremely gratifying to learn a bill you thought was do has already been paid. GO ME! :0)

I KNOW! I don't know why I did that I did it yesterday to instead of genes I said jeans HA!

"Wha...what is..."
this dude is rich as balls.
What a ghetto slang
GAH! This sound perfectly articulates most of my frustrations these days.
he's looking at the one dollar bill like "how did that get in there?"
hahaha, exactly
Valuable lessons learned this wknd.
#1 NEVER request of a man who is several feet taller than you to hold super bowl confections while navigating to a destination...Jolly Green Giant WILL eat your cupcakes AND steal your used fork to eat your cheesecake :o(
#2 After rolling 100k my baby wants to crap out.
#3 I DEFINITELY LOVE THE OFFICE!
#4 NJs ANTI EAGLE-ISM is a serious issue and NO I will NOT drive to Philipsburg for a jersey BAH!
#5 NEVER put the nachos back in the oven simply to melt the cheese.
no. absolutely not. nj is giants country. anyone who wants to be an eagles fan can move to pennsylvania.
Yes commandant. Heil GIANTS!
hear hear. i loathe the eagles mania that i must contend with down here.
me too
one of my bigger qualms about south jersey. stop rooting for the eagles, you remind me of pennsylvania.
I really like this song
FINALY! GAH! I was having rs withdrawal.

all you have to do is add your e-mail address. it's easy. i voted.
Yeah. I voted for all of them the other day to. They don't make you fill out any extensive form, ez as pie :oP
PS How is pie easy? Always wondered about that.
sup homies
Hello RedSweater
So if any of you enjoyed the February Awake! cover series, I highly recommend this documentary: Priveleged Planet. A Bethelite speaker's wife told me about it. Within the film, there are numerous scientists that the society has interviewed for our publications. It's good fuel for when you come across a scientifically minded person.
i love driving a rental cos it's the only time i get to drive a new car.
I think it's time to have another debate about cities...
i love all cities.
Heathen!!
hillbilly
We shall settle this with pistols at dawn
i'm a "discount barber" with a pistol.
I have this thing where I want to visit like every "interesting" city in the US - so far I got obviously NYC, Philly, New Orleans, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston, Miami.. Chicago at the end of Feb...
So far New Orleans/NYC tie for #1, Miami/L.A. tie for second, the rest are in no order
can't wait to experience Chicago
I'm going on Jerry Springer - in the audience, but I hope to start a fight and be on tV. OH YEAH. that is what I want to be known for. haha.
i want to visit the midwest and mess with all those mormons.
Oh I forgot to mention I still hate Philly even tho I live like right next to it now... umm.... it's still last on my list.
Philly sucks
Preston & Steve SUCK
the end.
I have the same goal. I've been to all of those cities except vegas and plus portland, maine, and interestingly, chicago is next on my list. I think we wanna go in the spring though, cuz i really dont wanna be walking aroudn for hours in the cold & WIND. haha
phoenix is pretty lame.
boston is really fun though. i'm surprised that's not on your list. i've also heard great things about portland oregon, and seattle, washington
yeah phoenix was really lame
I really love boston, I haven't been there in like 10 years though and I wasn't 21 yet and I feel like I need to go back now and really experience it. ha. But yeah - i went there 3 times when i was about 18-19 and I loved it.
i'm totally living in Miami someday...I'm working on Garrett. We just got back from Miami the other day...ahhhh..
I liked Chicago. It's the furthest west I've been. It's kind of a weird city.
speaking of cities, after reading in the latest awake that up to a BILLION birds die each year in the U.S. alone due to flying into high-rise buildings, i DON'T think there will be cities w/ sky scrapers in the new system. I DO think we will have like "town centers" where different things are.
oh for crying out loud
Why did i think this was ian when i first read it. I should have known, BV.
WHAT?! haha
You don't care about the birdies?
obviously only the stupid birds crash into buildings and die. It's survival of the fittest... lol
haha, i'm kidding. i'm sure the birds of the world will never poop on your car after hearing of your deep concern.
i think its anywhere from 1,000 to 100 billion birds die crashing into skyscrapers per year
