End of an Era Thread iwz had just posted a news article called "New Name" asking everyone to vote on renaming the site. redsweater.net was winning. so he started this musings thread — "'nuff said." flomojopoanode's first comment: "is redsweater really a 3.0 beta?" a week later hunkpapap: "if you want to destroy my redsweater..." they never actually left.
'Nuff said.

dan hill is growing a beard, please advice, thanks
what are you talking about? i only shave every other day, and you saw me on a non-shaving day
oh snap we might actually meet face to face at the convention tomorrow
yikes
the universe might collapse
Yes indeed. A giant red head with two kids.
the universe didn't collapse!! your kids are mad cute
Haha... Thanks.
I'm going to co-sign that. Very cute kids. The son was a bit bashful [haha, i hate that word]. The daughter, Emily, seems a bit more gregarious. As you's were walking away she said something to me, but I didn't understand it. Cracked me up.
Yeah, Jake and I are very similiar. Emily is a lil monster. LOL!
Aww you were at my assembly today too?
Who else was there? Who is going to be there tomorrow?
i was there on friday and didn't see any of you people, except for B-V
HAAAA! I saw them!
Oh yeah. Well next time introduce yourself! LOL!
Wow. Didn't occur to me they were yours. They just looked kinda familiar like every other kid I see at assemblies. I didn't know you were a red head. I'll say what's up tomorrow if I see yas.
Oh, you must have seen them on their way to the bathroom or something without me.
And I saw you!! Did I look totally flustered? I was so dead on my feet by that point and it took me a moment to realize someone was talking to me. Did this to Jesse V too...everyone must think I'm so rude.
Totally loved the suit though!
haha, no, you're fine. you looked very, very tired. i almost didn't say anything as i was stuck holding the door for like 75 people. ugh. anyway, yeah, i honestly thought to myself, "maybe i'll just let her pass by, she looks like she needs a nap or something." but then you were directly under my nose. and, yes, that's my favorite blazer. everyone wants to touch it. bill blass represent!
I talked to you today, though! I probably looked insane today. My allergies are so bad that while rubbing my eyes last night (I sat for a half hour with the heel of my hand in my left eye just rubbing it...feels so good) I burst a small blood vessel. Woops. I didn't want to talk to people and have them thinking, "Yikes...what drugs is she on?" Or like...that maybe I'm giving them a disease by standing next to them.
Yeah, nice to chat with you and Sammy! I couldn't tell you have allergies, but I CAN tell you I agree with the eye rubbing. I use the pointer finger. I really get in there too. It sometimes makes that suctiony eye fluid sound too. It feels great. As I'm doing it I'm thinking, "I wonder if I'm doing any lasting damage. Don't care. Can't stop."
I know, I'm glad we got to chat! I felt dumb just saying hi walking by instead of stopping and talking but I was originally on a total mission to find Matt Neville!
There was a day years ago when Malibu and I just sat in her kitchen and rubbed our eyes allll day. It was glorious.
i was just thinking how it's crazy that your allergies are acting up and mine aren't. and i can't believe you went this weekend. ours is next weekend!!! crazy.
I don't know what's up with me. I feel a lot better today but still kind of blah-ish. It may just be a cold instead?
We were with the weirdest assortment of congregations! I'll be at yours on Friday, though.
okayyy, i may be struck dead for saying this, but the light is bouncing off that piece of art in a way that it looks like theres meant to be smoke in the picture. and someone is handing someone something. that's all i'll say.
J is passing a j
No way dude. You were sitting two rows in front of me!! My mom and I were saying how cute your daughter was! She said you looked familiar, thought you probably knew my older sister and I thought you looked kind of familiar too.
Today we did? Interesting. Who's your older sister? I don't even know your name.
Yeah! Way up in the nose bleed section. Seriously, two rows behind you. I saw your little girl nudging you the entire last song.
Shawn Tymon.
She's a brute. She keeps me on my toes.
Is that your name or your sister's name?
That's my sister, I'm Lindsay.
Oh that's right. I knew that. Hahaha... The last name doesn't ring a bell.
Well, if you don't think I look familiar when we meet then you probably wouldn't remember my sister (does that make sense?) cause she and I look a lot alike. Not so much when standing next to each other but Shawn at 22 is me at 22.
Nice to meet you today. :o)
If you see me tomorrow, introduce yourself. I met Juicymango and Fivezero today.
I will!
Twas nice to meet you, buddy. Honestly, I NEVER woulda picked you out of the crowd, then Kam was like "Yo, dat be him! I told her though, it wouldn't have surprised me if you had a tranquilizer dart sticking out of your can [http://www.paws.org/pics/emailpics/02_bear.jpg]. You looked mad tired, bro! Get some rest! Anyway, maybe I'll see ya 'round tomorrow.
Were you guys searching for me? LOL! Well, I am always tired for obvious reasons.
haha, i guess. i saw her and yay and we talked for a minute, then i was like "you run into brotherman yet?" and she was like "yeah!" then we talked about something else and a minute later you walked by. it was then she said "that be him!" and i whacked you on the arm.
yeah i was sitting like 20 rows above you haha.. i didn't know what you looked like actually but i saw the kids and i was like that must be him!!! hahaha... and i wanted to leave you cryptic notes on your chair when you were gone during lunch but i didn't get a chance to, dang!
That would have been hilarious. haha
You want hilarious, Dan? I saw you coming down some stairs and I was about to head over and say what's up... when you stumbled on like three steps and almost went down. I don't know if one of the kids knocked you off balance or if it was you, but mannnnn... close call. You played it off real cool too. You had this look on your face like, "Whoa-ho-ho, that was close, daddy-o!" I decided to give you some space after that, lol.
That was a close one. haha... I think I was yelling at Emily at the time. haha... I saw you, but you were talking to a few peeps so I let you be.
awww they're so cute!!!
dan, i think your little girl is probably the strongest 5 year old i've ever seen!
She was so cute and talkative! I'd love to just sit and chat with her.
Yeah, she almost took me out wih that gut shot. LOL!
i know that was a hard shot! she really knows how to hit, she follows through
awh, we need a redsweater mobile version, 'cause if i let all of the page load, the view get's messed up on the Palm, like with all one letter on each line going from top to bottom - vertical instead of horizontal.
nnice!
trying out internet on the treo
i might be a great aunt today!!! *actually this will be my 3rd time
So this is exciting: I've got an interview with an interior design firm on wednesday, then another interview with an art gallery on monday, both part time positions. AND our congregation just merged with a sister one, so starting in september, we'll have 11 regular pioneers. I'm just going to start auxiliary-ing until I get in the swing again, but it's nice to know that there's going to be so much support! I really feel like my prayers are being answered. I'm so excited!
Awesome! This so goes great with the text for today :) Just keeping doing the right thing and everything else will fall into place.
That's so great! that's what i'm doing too, starting sept. auxillary for a few months to work myself up to hand in my reg. pioneer application.
Sarah Silverman = Evil Comedic Genius
pre-blood test screening...
Nurse: Did you ever have a blood transfusion in the 80s?
Sarah: Yeah.
Nurse: (alarmed) You did? You had a transfusion in the 80s?
Sarah: (bemused) Oh! Ha! No--I thought you said in Haiti.
Nurse: (even more alarmed) How long were you in Haiti?
Sarah: Oh that's hard to say; I was doing a lot of heroin at the time.
no, no, no. don't listen to redsweater. you ARE NOT a unique snowflake. we are all part of the same compost heap.
HI REAL PEOPLE
Whoa, Battery Park City was created with the dirt excavated when building the WTC.
i was reading a dave barry book the other day (written pre-9/11), and he was making a joke about saying something about terrorists destroying the WTC
was that after the bombing in the early 90s?
yeah i think so
nyc 101
Yay Rocks
i have redsweater bookmarked as ezabel.com still :)
i really want a resolution to this Utah mining accident
i hear so much about it i feel like i know those miners
and i know if i was down there i would still be alive somehow and i'd be real mad if they stopped drilling to find me
i know its so sad. my bestfriend was there like a few days before it happened (serving in unassigned territory) and sent me a pic of them preaching in the mines
aw. i really really want them to be alive and make it out somehow.
anyone know how to auto populate a field in a table with the current date in access
I'm using openoffice, but can you edit the field in the insert menu?
They still make Access?
Did you try Now() ?
My disgusting landlord is outside my living room hacking away at weeds. The walls of this house are so thin that I can hear him hacking away in his horrid smoker's cough right next to my couch. This place is so nasty.
For those of you who still prefer IE6/7 like I do, save your favorites online (just like delicious).
favorites.live.com
i still prefer charris2.0
awwwwwwww
so you want babies now?
NEGATIVE
I will laugh if you get impregnated.
i am on a baby kick right now. not that i would EVER have one on a whim OR without having my checklist complete....which is:
1-Be married for a least 5 years
2-Have gone to Europe twice (me & Austin)
3-Be in our next house (which is a couple years down the line)
I held my friend Julia's baby Ava during the meeting on Tuesday, she's 8 months old, and she KILLS me, she is the cutest ever.
yeah i was on a "babies are okay" thing for a couple years and now i'm back to very anti baby.
other people can have like 807547 babies and they are cute and everything but i am further from the desire to have one than i have ever been
I used to be so pro-baby but now I think they're evil.
However, when doing that Watchtower article a few weeks ago about how wonderfully made we are, I kind of wanted a baby again. Then I realized that it's like having a little alien growing inside of you and that's horrible.
chris called me in tears. he said you refuse to give him a baby. and you hit him every time he asks.
lol wow that is pretty inappropriate
i know! that's what i told him!
lol
what? they're still babies themselves....having WAY too much fun! :P
exactlyyyyyyy
but you said you want charris 2.0.
oh geez no. i said i prefer charris 2.0
which was my attempt at being cute and adding a 2.0 to charris
geez
that's all
kam 3.8 signing off
so you're saying you prefer babies
oy
:P
Hey I'm having a problem with one computer at work. Whenever I try to print email or web info via Firefox browser, it prompts me to "save PDF file as". I've tried saving it and then the pages I want to print come up in Adobe. It's annoying cause I don't want these things saved, just printed. Any ideas if a setting was changed accidentally?
is the adobe pdf maker set as your default printer?
what happened to your other installed printers? are you just hitting the "print" button (which uses your default printer) or are you choosing "file -> print"
yeah, go into your printers and faxes in the control panel and change your default printer to your printer. right now it's set as a pdf creator
thanks guys! I had already checked in control panel for the default printer but file -> print showed someone changed it to Acrobat Distiller just within Firefox.

I feel diseased
Is there no sympathy from the sun?
The sky's still fire
But I am safe in here, from the world outside
recently went through a career change. not so ez. haha
woohoo
you get fired??
didn't you switch jobs not that long ago? what's going on??
where are you at now?
did you shoot any lazers yet?
when i clicked that link, it had an email address in kodakgallery.com of kelly_matthewd AT hot mail (no spaces and it looked like a normal email address, just saving matt from getting spam)
why?
that's weird... i wonder why it was in there
probly from the last time he was trying to hack into your account
haha... yeah right. i hacked in and put a teddy bear in all her pics
whoa that's not cool
great pix frest!!! looks like you had an awesome time.
the bear pix absoulutely cracked me up. and it was so much better that they were all in one album. haha so great.
we got stuck in Chicago without our luggage for a night and started to entertain ourselves with the bear. then we just got carried away.
awesome pics frest! i love it! adn the bear...SOOOO CUTE!! it seemed like a little paddington bear-ish.
so how was the preaching since the mexicans (actually all latins) are VERY religious? was the reception warm?
and you look GREAT btw. so pretty!
service was cool. we did not-at-homes that brothers were pretty sure were English. the rest of the time it was just informal-everytime we heard someone speaking English. the territory is so huge that incidentally meeting people makes it seem more managable. Mexican people as a whole are very friendly.
I slept an average of 5 hours a night between roosters, people leaving their dogs out to bark all night, mosquitos, sleeping with a sleep-talking girl. So...I'm suprised that you say I looked great!
Self photo with the straight hair and the glasses? Hott!
nevermind the boring mexico pics, i liked seeing the traveling bear!
everyone shut up
OMG that was SOOO cute!
the radio station i listen too, they're talking about men being harassed at work and think they get harassed more so than us females. i dont know...i think guys like the attention more...what do you guys think?
isnt that that book... um... Michael Crichton : Disclosure or whatever. Thats what it was about, boss took advantage of a guy and nobody believed him, cause 90% of all sexual harrasment cases in a workplace are from females.
i could see guys not complaining about it or maybe afraid nobody would believe them.
i came across that book unpacking some stuff yesterday
i cant find mine... YOU PROBABLY STOLE IT!!!!!!
you might be right actually...
dood.... i hate you.
actually that book made me so angry... i hated that chick.
oh i dont know if its the book. they were talking bout guys and harassment in the workplace....or maybe they were and i just didnt pay attention to that part.
this reminds me of a bit of chris rock comedy from a few years ago....
anyway, see now...
harassment in this day and age is, in a funny way, reversed. in the old days, girls were harassed by men constantly because they knew there wasn't anything the gals could do about it. nowadays, with anti-harassment laws, some guys are hesitant to even compliment a girl. while the harassment laws aren't gender specific, guys would be very hesitant to say they were harassed and made to feel like a piece of meat by a woman. in fact, some guys feel they should see it as the ultimate compliment to be treated that way, lol. what i mean is, some dudes see the harassment as flattery and personal validation and would possibly feel like less of a man if they admitted to feeling threatened and uncomfortable by a woman to the point of reporting her. it's a funny situation.
sooo i had a dream that there was poisonous gas in the air and the only way to survive was to smoke because the smoke somehow neutralized the gas.. and it was just me and my dog.. and suddenly I looked and he was smoking a cigar and then he passed it to me. hahaha... so weird
HAHAHAHAHA dude i SO needed this to make me laugh.
So I think I know why this dream came about.. haha.. i'm dying.. it's Triumph the insult comic dog! This is what my dog would look like with a cigar and hat. hahahaha
Urban Abandonments
Pretty neat description of seven abandoned urban places around the world.
ok it seems everyone has missed the point of today. It's Lefthanders Day!! Lol Mike says lefties are a bunch of freaks but someone recognizes our value :)
Friday at the convention I was pretty tired so the last two talks I decided to take notes with my left hand (i'm right-handed) - the first few lines..it looks like a 4 year old wrote it... but some of it actually looks pretty good! And it took way more concentration and effort. So I was able to focus and stay really alert. Woot for ambidextrousity! haha
haha I sometimes write with my right hand at assemblies to pay attention too!
if you want to destroy my redsweater....
post a thread and *boom* walk away
so i go away for a few weeks and ezabel is extinct!?
dang it, he found us!
Sniff...Sniff...I thought I smelled you.
oh crap! i thought i took that link to redsweater off of ezabel.com

welcome home! how was the honeymoon?
Have a free sample of dunkin donuts ground coffee on me
yo lyndz i was listening to that robbers on high street song "spanish teeth" today, and i really like it - do you have any others/can you make recommendations?
thanks
I have never even heard of these robbers on high street.
hmm maybe it was julia that recommended this
Possibly! I seriously reread your initial post several times to make sure that was my name and then just sat there trying to figure out what you were talking about.
well their music is excellent i highly recommend it although i really thought you said it ... let me use the search
ok search is broken but the link is
http://www.redsweater.net/topics/show/3979-Robbers-on-High-Street
yeah it was me. they're one of my favortie bands.they have a new cd out that i've been neglecting to get. what'd you want a reccomendation on? other good songs of theirs? or other bands that are like them?

is that Laguna? I don't know. All i know is see you in 3 months!!!!!
that is totally laguna. that was the view from one of the restaurants i went to.
wow that's gorgeous, i cannot wait
SUCH a good convention! it's weird how quick it goes.there were 36 people baptized and FIVE were from our hall! red lion represented! haha
oh, this was funny. after the convention on sunday, me and austin were vacuuming and this bro. comes up to me and just randomly asked if i was from NY and do i know how to get back to NJ. So i told him the way i go, and i asked him why he just randomly asked me if i'm from NY and he said cuz i have that "look". i took it as a compliment. haha now that i'm in PA, i'm happy people still know my roots. lol
We had our convention this weekend too! I really liked the part when they gave really pointed counsel about not talking to disfellowshipped ones, even if they're part of your extended family. I've noticed lots of friends don't take that counsel too seriously, and hopefully that part will help. Some people don't even take it seriously when friends are reproved, and it's all discipline from Jehovah, so I'm glad that part brought that out.
What was your attendance? Ours was only like 1100-1500 - I guess because it was at the assembly hall they wanted to keep it small.
really? we had like close to 4000! at jersey city, it was tight but i liked it, saw a lot of people.
and i agree with you completely. when i turned 18 i made a decision to not talk to my dad, b.c i didnt live with him. i got a lot of slack for that, but that was my decision...and 6 months later he was reinstated (he had been df'd for like 6 years before that). now im not saying the reinstatement had to do completely with me not talking to him, but im sure it played a big role.
I love the interviews because it gives you real experiances, ya know, but we had some WEIRD ones. Kam, remember that girl that decided not to sing in the winter concert but thought it was okay to flip the pages of the piano player's music book? hahahha, so weird! She was like, "when i found out it was being televised, i realized that wasn't such a good idea". lol!
yeah. pretty weird.
thats awesome! i loved it too, we should compare notes.
and how did he know you were from ny? were you like giving the finger to people as you were vaccuuming......thats not following the christ!
ummmmmm apparently you didn't read my post...he said i have the NY look haha. I assumed him meant i was prettier then all the PA girls. hahaha jk! but cuz, i have dark hair/skin/italian. A lot of people are blonde/light skinned around here.
I enjoyed the convention, but .. I'm sorry but I really hate Reading, PA, it's just awful. I expected this cute little Pennsylvania town.. and instead it was just gross.
really? did you drive down Penn Ave? they have all these awesome cute shops and restaurants, all like, independently owned. We went to this restaurant called 3rd & Spruce, coincidentally enough ON 3rd & Spruce, haha and it was great and in a super cute, trendy area.
yeah we walked down Penn Avenue the first day.. we parked like allll the way down on i think 2nd or 3rd and walked down to the convention and it was just gross to me. Maybe I didn't give it a full chance haha. It's possible.
HA!!! what did i tell you. reading sucks big time.
you are the second most annoying person on redsweater.
I'm guessing that I am #1. Haha...
ding ding ding, what do we have for him johnny?
You women on here are nuts. haha
well at least im not the second ugliest person on redsweater. actually, you're def number 1 in that category, tesoro.
theeeeen, i'm guessing you like men. man lover.
i dont know how you drew that conclusion. buuuuuut it doesn't change the fact that you're an ugo.

thats all i have to say.
exactly...look how sexy i am there. and that was like 3 years ago.
Yeah, I mean cmon... If he had hairy feet, he'd be a hobbit.
yay we're still in the same district. except i wasn't there this weekend i was at the one in mexico!
Awesome! how was it??
A taste of reality. I hope to move out of the US asap.
you had a baby?!?!? (reality)
noooooooo
Before you move out of the country, we need to catch up asap!
yes! Perhaps over the revolucion tequila I brought back for you!
Frest...you rock.
i bet brotherman feels like this sometimes, lol
Hahaha... That was awesome!
yo zabel can you fix the RSS feeds? thanks maan
ADIOS AMIGOS! Im heading down to Kentucky for some Unassigned Territory, I will see Y'All when I get back!!
GIDDY-UP!
i kinda like the rain today.
me too. it's unimposing.
this sounds like fun:
Taeyoon is currently addressing this in his project Shoot Me If You Can, a game in urban space where people are running through the city, each equipped with a cameraphone or digital camera. They are divided into teams and are supposed to take pictures of the opposite team's players. When successful, the photo is messaged to the "shot" player and he or she is out.
nice article about the conventions in central California
doesn't save energy on a lcd
yo, harold and kumar go to white castle was just on TBS. they rode a cheetah. soooo funnnyyy.
oh no! we had a bad storm here Tuesday night and the roof over the radio station at Centenary College leaked so the ceiling fell all over the equipment. I hope the board is ok since it's nostalgic. It used to belong to WNEW.
Oh darn... Now you can't play punk rock. LOL!!!
actually we're broadcasting from the production room
And here we are to sing you a song
And there you are, asleep against the window pane
Just like always

i don't know, butchie yost, instead
i cant believe no one has talked about the storm the other night...did it effect you guys like it did here? it was such LOUD thunder for like an hour straight. and i heard in somerville there was a tornado! (thats just like 5 min from me) and then the very first ever tornado in brooklyn! yikes!
Rock Supastar's Song of the Day
Goldfinger : Disorder
My little story's

WOW we haven't had a song of the day in quite a while!
