Awesome. I've never seen that video before. Though I recently used a snip of that song for a wedding video I did. Thanks!
I ate pavement yesterday in service. I am super scraped up. What a klutz!
So I've kind of been a jerk lately at work. They put up these signs saying "Blood Shortage! Blood Drive soon!" and they had the blood drive while Lauren and I were on vacation.
When I got back, people were talking about how they gave blood .. and I asked them why they would give blood, when it was clearly unnecessary in this day and age ... and people said things like "a blood transfusion saved my mother's life", or "i did it to save a life".
That is completely ridiculous. I told a few people "you know we're within 1 mile of the world's first completely bloodless hospital, right? People don't die there. Patients there get better faster, and it's cheaper. There are so many alternatives to blood transfusions, like blood expanders and saline. Technology has made blood transfusions superfluous."
I may have scared a few people. Apparently I feel very passionate about this. Who knew.
wow, that's a HUGE snake

STEF where are you?!?!?! Those shots are fantastic!!!
Great work both of you =o)
that's great! great shooting brian, and photos stef.
interesting choice of music, for that sort of spot. i'm guessing it was stefnyi's choice haha
i chose the song from her... intimations. she didn't tell me exactly what song to use, but she had tonal suggestions. that song is Dog by SebastiAn. he's kind of a big deal to me these days, as are all the Ed Banger records people! http://www.myspace.com/0sebastian0
how come I can't hear a thing...& no I don't have my audio or the video muted.
press play.
Ah yeh did that too...next time I'll spell it allllll out for you now that it's clear one has to for you.
Sounds back now for some reason tho.
Honestly the sound was missing the first time I played it. Maybe a blip on Blip's part.
I already told you that the music is awesome but the final render is amazing, GREAT JOB BV!

stef rocks my world. :) STEF I'M COMING TO SEE YOU AND THAT CUTE LITTLE BABY OF YOURS AND I'M GONNA STEAL HIM AND TAKE HIM HOME WITH ME...until he poops..then I will bring him back. :)
the most interesting part i feel is how as soon as the model changes her shirt to green, stef changes hers too. total coordination and commitment to photography
whooooooaaaaaaa, i didn't even notice that. i musta messed up somehow when color-correcting. that's never happened to me before. good eye, julianana.
Listening to the Mad Caddies today .. 10 West is amazing. So good. Thank you Pandora!

YAY :)

Woe Giac! That is that about...being all soxy???
hey peeps
i'm looking to buy a laptop .. like.. today
if i go to staples or circuit city will i get totaly ripped off?
and what should i get?
i just want something with a fairly large hard dive and a lot of memory where I can have photoshop and like 30 photos open at the same time and it won't crash and fall asleep and run out of memory
halp
sounds like you're getting a PC. You should go with 4GB of RAM (or more) on Vista 64, if you can find one that has that.
Or, get a Mac.
You won't get ripped off horribly, but you can always find better deals online. That's the price you pay for needing something today, though.
This is all very good info, except I think Macs are way overpriced and unnecessary unless you like shiny objects.
I'd recommend taking a look at the circulars for Best Buy, Circuit City, Staples, etc. - then call and make sure they have it in stock before you go.
Also .. (personal opinion here) make sure it has a SATA port, and HDMI. I think more and more devices will be using those over the years, and SATA is much faster than USB for backups.
laptops have external SATA and HDMI nowadays? wow, that's pretty cool. those can't be very common though, right?
i've seen it on a few. maybe not on the majority of models, but if you're going to make an investment now, it's definitely worth it to pay a few dollars more for those connectors. I think HDMI is cool because it carries sound too (pretty sure it does on a laptop, anyway)
chris would .. i'm pretty sure... rip me apart with his bare hands if i brought home a Mac
but thank you for the advice. I know I totaly should have thought of this like last week. But I didnt'. Lol.
haha, just tell him it's for designers and photographers. and that it runs Unix. And also Windows.
i would love a mac. Anybody see any good deals online for mac laptops? I need one for music and video editing.
ROFL
Now I feel rich, thick, and buttery to!
*polite chuckle* Someone has put a logo right over my face.
I SO want to join the Geico marketing team--
Things I learned this weekend:
Ian should be a Game Show host
Flaming marshmallows can be formidable weapons (YIKES)
I can pass for 17 (am fairly disturbed by this concept--is of NO advantage to me)
Never say your middle name in mixed company (chaos WILL ensue)
People constantly feel the need to lift me off the ground
Cute little ole' ladies from the Bronx like to hug me...SO adorable!
Livy, YOU'RE the next the contestant on The Wheel of Fish! YOU GET TO DRINK FROM THE FIAH HOSE!!
that little old lady from the bronx is my grandfathers cousin, lol. no joke
That's funny. I had mentioned how far of a drive I thought it must
have been for her and she says "Andrea picked us up", it didn't click because I'd never refer to your mom as Andrea,lol--I'm slow. Your dad's a riot though, he literally lifted me off the ground in a bear hug it was like great adventure only free.
Last night, Lauren and I went to see an indie movie called "Man on a Wire". I read about it online last week and was hoping it would be close by, although the nearest theater that had it was in Belleville, according to the website. It won some awards, including the Sundance Film award this year.
Lauren and I were talking yesterday afternoon, planning a date for the evening (this is what we have to do to block off time to spend together) and Lauren suggested that we go to the movies, and asked what happened to that movie I was talking about? I checked it out and it was playing right near our house at the $4.75/ticket theater!
The movie is a documentary about a man who works out a super stealthy plan to cross the Twin Towers on a tightrope. (Note - this movie has NOTHING to do with 9/11. They never even mention it, and rightly so). He plans, he schemes, he practices, he evades guards, and it's a wonderful story. I highly recommend you check it out (definitely if you can find a cheap theater!) and if not, wait for the DVD.
how much are tix near you guys? ours went up to freaking $11.50....almost TWELVE DOLLARS for a stupid movie!
at the local ginormous-plex, movies are $11. If you buy a ticket online, it's another $1.00/ticket. When Lauren and I went to see Indiana Jones, it was $24 before we even got there. And we got popcorn, soda, and the movie was terrible.
I think when we went to see Batman, we both got food. I swear that theater got $40 from us. So usually when Lauren wants to go to the movies, I just hit up Blockbuster or watch something we already own.
I KNOW! im down with waiting for blockbuster too now! so insane!
wooo hooo! Ironman comes out tomorrow!
I am SO RELIEVED that I will soon be moving on to another job. During the late afternoons/evenings, I will be assisting a blind sister and her family from our congregation through a home health agency. I already help her a lot so the opportunity to be more available for her AND get paid for it is a blessing upon us both. The Icing: it means a considerable raise for me!
Nice! Congrats.
Thanks! I have been struggling with an iadequate pay rate as well as less than favorable comments about Jehovah's Witnesses. It seems like Jehovah won't let me stop pioneering even if I wanted to.
CONGRATS!!!
It's awesome that you'll be working helping a sister out.
I thought of you this weekend, I think I met your double she's from the Philly Russian group...sound familiar?
i saw a Forrest double too! in NYC this week.
you guys think other people are like me? :(
looks-wise. yeah.
was it Meadow?
I love that you actually know who it is! Isn't she great?!?!
There there, she's no Fabulous Frest just mildly reminiscent of.
=0)
hahaha, meadow and forreste look nothing alike.
I'm not sure that I really thought they LOOKED alike,
just that they have similar personalities. I can't be that far off she knew who I was referring to. I have noticed that sometimes when I think certain people share personality traits I automatically assume there are physical similarities as well... weird.
we don't really look alike, but we do have the same face shape.
whoah I met Meadow at our meeting on... Thursday I think??? It's probably the same Meadow. She said photosynthesis in a comment, so naturally I love her.
muahaha! meadow green, no less. yeah. haha.
oh yeah.. haha.. lol... wow
i am glad this is working out for you ...
that's great! sounds like a perfect job for you. grats!
excellent
I put in my notice today. I was very anxious about how the managers would react because one of them is a pretty loose cannon. They were impressed and supportive!!
Congrats again! Best wishes. I had a similar situation a few weeks back, glad it worked out =D
whoa! long time. hello.
woohooo! congrats, fow!
Whoa ..I just heard some kid like curse the Watch Tower down in the street. I have my apartment window open. What's going on? I tried to look out the window to see what I could see, but he had a short lived rant thankfully.
LOL... Must be a demon-possessed man.
I know a lot of you are from the North Jers so I am posting this to pimp this place out a bit. It's SO CUTE and it's so far away from me, WHYYYYYYY lol. Anyway, those of you in North Jers, a trip to this place would be a good present for the wifey.
So I picked up "The Force Unleashed" last night for the Wii. First, off, it's cheaper by $10 than the other consoles - I'm always down for saving money. I wanted to trade in my Super Smash Bros because I never play that, but I loaned it to my bible study Carlos about 3 months ago and he's been playing it ever since. So someone's using it. Also, he's 10.
The game is really interesting, in a lot of different ways. The controls are really my favorite part. You can pick up items with the force, throw items, pick up people, choke people (you play as Darth Vader on the first level, and it's wonderful) and there are a lot of different control combinations. There seems to be an accelerometer in the nunchuck, which I hadn't realized. (I guess Wii Sports Boxing is the only other game I know that takes advantage of that.)
The graphics are - eh. Good enough, I guess. Nothing to write home about. I do have the Wii 480p component cables, which I haven't hooked up. That might help a little. (The reason I haven't hooked them up is that our cable box connects to the TV via component and we only have one set of component inputs on there. I know, why don't I use the HDMI cable from the cable box to the TV? Because if you do, the S-Video box from the cable box is blocked. Which is ridiculous. But the S-Video port is the only way to record certain channels.)
The game is also ... a little violent for my liking. You're a dark Jedi and all but it's a little rough. It does have a "Teen" rating, so ... maybe it's just me. I kind of missed the happiness of Lego Star Wars there.
Anyway, I highly recommend overall. Trade in a game you never play, or get $50 by selling something you don't need.
this game looked pretty cool, but yeah, seems like it's a violent from the ads i've seen
Ed Banger Records.
Man... This place is a graveyard.
well, i hate to say it, but this place isn't as fun anymore. there's no controversies, no interesting quotes, stories, or videos, and I'm as much to blame as anyone else is.
The controversies were pretty fun. I tried taunting Yankee fans the other day. No one took the bait. Oh well... I just taunt the ones at my Hall.
oh i LOVE taunting Yankees fans...wait who do you like? I HATE THEM!! hahahaha. just trying to start something...sorry. :)
The Mets, who actually are in a pennant race. They're killing me though... The bullpen makes things more difficult than it needs to be. They won by a thread last night 9-7.
Actually, I want to see Mets and White Sox. Or...Cubs and White Sox would be kinda cool. I'm just excited that cleveland plays at wrigley next year. me and G are planning a trip out to see it. wooohooo...only 9 months away...

speaking of...how're the kids getting along with your wife?
Very well. She's pretty good with them.
We just have no time to ourselves, which makes things stressful. Oh well, a few more years and they can babysit themselves. Jake is 9 now.

HELP
Thanx!
I don't use the chat in there, i just use a windows program for google chat.
What is it?
You can use Google Talk: http://talk.google.com
But I use Pidgin, www.pidgin.com because you can login to all of your IM accounts all-in-one (aim, yahoo, msn, google, etc)
if Napoleon Dynamite were real, I'd say I work with his aunt-red curly hair, glasses, and always sighing excessively loud.

very cool! is that in Doylestown?
yep!
Doylestown!? Know the Hopwoods? Tell Shilough I said Hello. (I wonder what the new Siren Records looks like. Been there?)
Hopwoods are a great family. I heard something really nice about Shilough and Larissa recently.
(Drive by redsweater posting for the month)
Yeah!! I like them a lot. I haven't been to the new Siren yet. I hope they still have shows and such. Shame that it got shut down. BOOO!
there was totally a "save the Empire" movement here for a while but like, it didn't work, the yuppies pushed it out - but it just got moved to a different street, it will prevail!!
Small world
whoa! hello there. say hi to Ben!
you have serious perspective issues.
LOL obviously i am not a designer
Reminds me of a Ren & Stimpy scene. :D
The second pic looks like you used black spray paint.
yeah it's PHOTOSHOPPPPPPPEEEDDDDD
I know. But to someone who doesn't know what Photoshop is, it looks like you spray painted your wall.

At least one person is curious then haha
Follow the links...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._George,_Staten_Island
2 blocks from the Ferry to Manhattan!
I'm on Stuyvesant btw...just didn't want to post my actual address for the World to see on RSS.
you moved to staten island? pretty cool. what's your place like?
Newly Renovated Studio in a 1930s Apartment building with a Courtyard garden. The Manhattan skyline can be seen from the side street. 2 miles to the Kingdom Hall. 2 blocks to the Ferry. About a half a mile to the Internet Cafe.
sounds very nice! why'd you move, new job or something?
sweet! that sounds awesome!! sounds pretty much like my dream apartment. well maybe it would have to be in the village actually but pretty close to it. but where i am now is cool too so it's ok
excellent. kudos.
any photography people out there? I'm selling a lens - PM me if interested it's the Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM
sometimes i don't make the right decisions... on airplanes.
Music by Massive Attack.
Okay, so I started filming this flight attendant doing her safety instructions routine and she caught me! Boy, was she livid and I was angrily instructed by her to stow my camera in the seat pocket. The flight was only an about an hour and it was an hour spent avoiding this ladies stink eye. So, as I'm leaving the plane I realize I left the camera in the seat pocket! I waited until everyone was off the plane and I boarded again to get my camera. As I'm headed down the aisle I noticed the flight attendant at the back of the plane hatefully staring at me. I'm totally stunned by this and I forget where my seat is. So, I have to dig in my pockets for my boarding pass to get my seat number. I go to my seat, snag my camera, and crack a half smile at the attendant and rush off the plane. Super awkward experience.
Okay, so youtube.com got mad at me for posting that video. So, I went elsewhere!
haha, after a brief squabble with the youtube people, they decided to allow it. I WIN!
It kills me that I am missing the Federer/Alves match! GRRR! usopen.org FTW!
Tennis is gay
tennis is awesome! although i dont know if i would like watching it.
Yeah, it is fun to play. I would never watch it though.
you two are retarded.
Saw Jack's Mannequin with Lauren and Nick last night in Rumsey playfield-land-place. It was good, but he only played about 6 or 8 songs (we did get there a little late). Lauren somehow got into the VIP section while claiming to "go to the bathroom" and got to talk to Andrew, of which I am highly jealous. (He's actually from Ho-Ho-Kus, which is where I lived for 10 yrs.)
After that, Paramore came on ... turns out they are a "Christian" band. I may have ridiculed a lot of the messages, mostly by calling out for Jack's Mannequin to hurry up and come on stage. Also, Paramore supports anti-child-sweatshop movements, which involves people giving the band $35 for hoodies. (I'm confused too). So I may have yelled out "aren't there some thin mints I could buy instead?"
GAAAH!!!
I CANT FRICKIN' SLEEP! i fell like crap, and i've gotten up to pee like 4 times in the last 3 hours.
and every time i do manage to fall asleep i dream about ninjas. they're everywhere! and they wont even fight. they just keep capturing me, eli manning and carl weathers.they just tie us up and then stand there like they are going to fight eachother. BUT THEY DONT MOVE. and sometimes i have to get into a really tiny elevator that goes super fast...i know it's totally bazaar, and super frustrating.
duuuuude... that's terrible. because everyone knows pirates > ninjas
Time to lay off the crack pipe young Alex.
I always wondered why we fall back into the same dream even after breaking the sleep cycle. This sounds kind of interesting...bizarre... but somehow STILL interesting.
Did you eat anything out of the ordinary before you went to sleep?
no, but i have been kind of sick this week. i do tend to have weird dreams when im sick.
the google ads on this page are hysterical. mostly about stools and regularity
redsweater is moving to a new server over the weekend.
just an FYI.
hopefully you won't spill mojito mix on the new server
If anyone is interested, a group from my congregation is doing our annual canoeing/camping trip Sept 10-11. I always make my own car group so if anyone is available and wants in HOLLA

It's a canoe place out near Jim Thorpe I can't remember the name of the place there's so many up there. We actually had a rain date from last summer. We canoed 80% of the way to the campsite in the rain before the company finally was like "It's a crappy day, wanna rain date?"- Genius clearly at work there -WOMP-

for all your stool color needs.
http://altmedicine.about.com/od/gettingdiagnosed/a/stools.htm
alex and I were researching "weird colors" but this is one of the things I stumbled upon. Needless to say, poop jokes ensued.
this is HILARIOUS! i love the bold headings. Now that I've been enlightened, I have to shoot for "the ideal dump":
"An ideal bowel movement is medium brown, the color of plain cardboard. It leaves the body easily with no straining or discomfort. It should have the consistency of toothpaste, and be approximately 4 to 8 inches long. Stool should enter the water smoothly and slowly fall once it reaches the water. There should be little gas or odor."
Seriously, waaaay too descriptive!!!
i took a gander at my "work" yesterday after reading this and i have good news for everyone. it's healthy! i didn't test the consistancies, but by all shapes and appearances i produce utopian excrement. i wonder what a dump will be like in the new system...
Utopian Excrement BV @ his BEST! *satisfied sigh*
well, I know we'll fart butterflies and they'll smell like roses. Its in 2 moses 8:18
ooh 2 Moses 8:18! one of my fave scriptures, probably right after Paul 7:9.
and beelzebub 4:1!
lighting strike!
This chart came in handy to me. I was wondering why my poop was greenish/black and I found out this:
Black stool caused by food, supplements, medication, or minerals is known as "false melena." Iron supplements, taken alone or as part of a multivitamin for iron-deficient anemia, may cause stools to be black or even greenish in color.
I've been taking iron supplements! (tmi?)
NEI, Matt. MI! MI!
LOL
well if you must know, I also crossed referenced my data with the bristol stool scale
